Good luck on a run through Lonesome Road. I completed mine earlier today. I took my time to get through it this time and found all the upgrades for ED-E. I ended up talking Ulysses down this time, probably the only time I'll do it, and sent bombs to both NCR and Legion.

It seemed fitting to do since I plan on going for an Independent New Vegas. Sneaking around sniping enemies made this playthrough less painful than last.

Oddly enough my rep with the NCR is still pretty high (Wild Child) and even though the Legion considers me to be a villian, not a single one of them registers as aggressive. Maybe there is some problem with rep changes happening from that event in Lonesome Road and carrying over properly?

I think that's intentional. After all, from their point of view, a rain of missiles fell on them without warning. There were no witnesses to your actions at all.

No, I don't think it's a glitch, you probably still carry the mark of Caesar. :-)

Lonesome Road is so.. lonesome.

The first time was kinda fun, second time was cool cause I looted EVERYTHING, this time, I just want to get it done, nuke the legion and have the NCR call off the hit squads.

Eh, the Mark is a one-off... but yeah, timing can do a lot to mitigate the fallout (see what I did there?) from nuking either or both factions...

Because yes, ordinarily, nuking the Legion turns them pretty irretrievably hostile.

Somehow, everybody knows who launched (or stopped) a mysterious hail of nuclear missiles from the middle of a monster-infested wasteland whose sole human inhabitant is Ulysses...

Nothing of note, except the hilarity of pulse grenades constantly knocking ED-E unconscious.

Just remember, bringing Boone to see Caesar is one of the nicest things you can do for him.

Kinda burns your bridges, but, y'know, screw the Legion.

One doesn't survive in the wastelands without burning a few bridges, or fiends.

The Fiends: The only reason NOT to kill them by the truckload is if you're trying for an Evil Karma rating (well, and Aba-Daba Honeymoon needs Motor-Runner alive for a couple of seconds, but as has been noted, you can conclude your delivery by force-feeding that <redacted> <redacted> his own <redacted> chainsaw.)

Gave me fits trying to get the "Ain't Like That Now" perk one time... some Fiends attack my thieving murderer, he slaughters them, and all of a sudden his Karma's neutral. <_<

Yeah, seriously, it's almost impossible to have negative karma in that game in the long run. My foul villain legion supporter melee brute has a picture of Jesus in his PipBoy under Karma.

*rassin frassin'*

Had to go shoot a couple of innocent people in Goodsprings, then rob literally every location I could find. It's too much WORK staying evil!

Yeah, don't get me started on trying to be evil in video games these days, it's almost easier to ride a cow in Red Dead Redemption (which is impossible, despite it being a thing cowboys do).

*sigh* I miss Legacy of Kain.

Did someone mention EVIL?

he's not evil, he is just very silly

I actually made sure to save my get-out-of Vilified free cards until I had done quite a few missions around the Mojave. Didn't quite know which or how many eggs I would have to break this time around.

After 60 hours of wandering around I decided to finally get on with the main story and got the Legion Rep set back to normal. I figure after I get done settling accounts around the Strip I'll go on an outing with Boone to the Fort. Sounds like good times to me.

I'm glad others have found maintaining an evil karma in this game as difficult as I have. One playthrough I managed to stay EVIL but I avoided feral ghouls, fiends, and stole everything that was worth a cap.

No game tonight, must prepare for Iron Gods, should be interesting as they're trying to tame a Cerebric Fungus. Honestly, I'm just glad they haven't eaten it, yet...

I am sure that it will be a "trip" for them if they do eat it.

I think after I'm done with the longest road I'm going to big MT, seems like I'd be better served in dead money with cybernetic muscles or whatever boosting my carrying capacity, also because I already have the dermal armor I'm strongly considering going au natural into dead money, with just a few guns.

Before I go into dead money, I try to have the dermal implant and the regen thingie. They help out a small bit.

Oh, yes gotta get the regeneration doohickey.

The zig zaggiest road sure is taking forever this time...

And do the Boomers quest that gives the rebreather. It is one of the few items that can go to Dead Money with you.

Well, I finally got done with New Vegas a few days ago. Frequent freezing and the auto-save not functioning made me want to just run it through the last bit.

I would get as many implants as possible before Dead Money, especially the DT and Regen Implants. Don't worry about taking anything with you into the bunker, almost everything is stripped off before you get there.

Hopefully your rampage continues unabated through the Mojave. I think DA:Inquisition is up next for me.

I think next up, I'll track down the Skyrim Ultimate mega (fixed the bugs) game of the year director's cut edition.

But not for awhile, got s&** to blow up in slow motion.

After my latest spate of N V playthroughs resolves, I may make the breathtakingly with-it decision to try Fallout 4...

Just understand that Fallout 4 is a sequel to Fallout 3, NOT Fallout New Vegas. FO NV has nothing to do with Fallout 4.

Yes, and given how much I preferred NV to III, my dragging my feet this long should be easy to understand. ;)

At closer to 900 hours' clocked time than 800 in FO 4, the dragon is correct in that it is a sequel to FO 3. This makes sense geographically speaking.

However, I find FO 4 endlessly engaging outside of the main quest (which resolves very quickly if you're of the mind). I'm still finding things I've never seen previously, and a few locations remain unvisited.

For me, going Lone Wolf on Survival is the newest wrinkle I've added for my edification. Companions? Pffft, I don't need no stinkin' companions!

This Sole Survivor is grieving, you see...

I still prefer Fallout NV to Fallout 3 and 4, BUT I have enjoyed Fallout 4 and would recommend it. I have played over 300 hours of it and I am not even through it. I just wanted to make sure that you had the correct mindset going into Fallout 4. I did not and it took me a while to get over that error in thinking.

In Fallout 3 I always went as a loner, except on M~*%$+&~&&$! Zeta, g~&%~+n swarming prismatic alien a+*$$#@s!

Fallout 3's idiot self-destructive companions were never worth the hassle (or karma-bending) it took to recruit them...

I just wanna make it one time thru the Pitt without accidentally pick pocketing dude's wife at the end and having to shoot her.

"Uh, yeah buddy, brighter days ahead, no, I'm totally bringing teddy bears back..."

*sigh*
Really!?! Kind hearted thug! Kind hearted thug, really!?!

I nuke your biggest rival and the best you can do is kind hearted thug! Really?

It's cool, I'm over it, never wanted to help out the NCR anyway..

smashes ED-E wildly against the ground, fixes comically messed up Mohawk

Back to square one I guess, whatever that is...

You must have stacked the bodies pretty deep at Crimson Caravan...

F*&*ing Cass and ED-E!

Y'DO know you don't need her with you to complete her murder quests, right?

I'm just gonna have to start over, it's the only way.

Yup, started over, Bethesda games are better when you're playing as a girl anyway.

Modeled her after my wife's Iron Gods character Poe, purple hair, loves to drink.

If you're pulling a do-over to be pro-NCR, I suggest doing the "sneak around, get evidence" version of Cass's quest.

I suggest you just save going into the Lucky 32 and the Tops until AFTER you piss them off. Much easier to infuriate the hell out of them and then get forgiveness.

Can also be helpful for how you time your nukings.

With that said, the NCR is actually quite easy to keep happy, provided you don't make a habit of noisily killing their people.

Stealth kills are ludicrously easy and I once all but emptied Camp Forlorn Hope while keeping a very good NCR rep.

Stealth kills:

"Huh - what's that? Aww, I must be imagining things..."

Yeah - that's why your friend's head just exploded - you IMAGINED it!

or could be a fiend so hopped up on chems that he doesn't know what he sees?

All great points to consider whilst I toil in the toy mines.

Quick question, are there any cool legion companions. Or am I relegated to late night robot dog leg humpings.

"I know you say you've been sitting there all night Rex, but why's my leg wet then"

Sadly, there are no legion companions.

And Legion runthroughs make keeping Boone, Veronica, and Arcade a bit of a chore, and if you do them the most logical way, Cassidy too.

Raul, Lily, Rex, and ED-E are the most likely to stick with you and not, like, flip out and try to kill you if you back the Legion.

It's for the best, don't really care for the legion, current run much better than last, found all of ED-E's parts right away, and a woman's body is much more enjoyable to see when walking every where. :-)

For me at least, ymmv. :-)

Super hilarious thing everyone should do, that they didn't know they should do.

So after you leave Nipton you go up the pass with a%@+&!$ viper gang.

Shoot the lady on the cliff to your right, then duck behind something for a moment. The stupid a&$~%$!s will circle around to come down to fight and get mauled by Bighorns on the way down, every time. :-D

Helped out Davison this time, thanks for the tip Cole. :-)

So much faster, plus steady plus cowboy repeater for the win, Harlan never even got a shot off, entire basement took two bullets. :-)

Overall, ReppConn was a rousing success, I went all commando and dropped most ghouls before they saw me.
