Good luck to everyone. I hope to be moving on but if I don't I am still looking forward to reading through some excellent encounters.
I just came down with a nasty case of gastroenteritis, so this advice is unfortunately far more stressful for me. I have a couple ideas, but I haven't been able to get them on paper yet because of my illness.
Ouch! Sorry to hear you're sick (esp. gastroenteritis), that really sucks.
Get better and well soon!
Feel better soon, Nick! If you make the next round (I'm sure you will) you'll have until Thursday night to submit an idea. Hopefully that's plenty of time to work things out and submit something awesome.

I don't normally make house calls, but in your case -- hey wait, you're a doctor, you got it covered! Feel better soon!

I hope you feel better. I know what it's like to have something like that knock the creative energy out of ya. I had tooth pain during the map round and got my tooth pulled so I wouldn't have to spend the day of the deadline in pain.
Feel better soon. I hope it clears up quickly.
Whew! Finished my triple prerelease weekend (40 hours of work over 3 days >.<)
Now to work on idea #2 for round #4.
PS. Feel better Nick!

I got an abscessed tooth in the monster round and ended up having a root canal - so I feel your pain.

Feel better Nick and Jeff!
If anyone needs/wants an extra pair of eyes on their encounters I'm willing to take a look. I'm already pit crewing for a couple of you but I have the time and I'm willing to lend eyes.
Two hours to go! Suddenly it's become very hard to remain busy.
Good luck everyone, and good health to those that are ailing.
I'm especially excited for the next round whether I make it or not, since it'll be interactive with the playtests (hoping some people run them on a VTT)!

Congrats to those who made it to the next round - I'm looking forward to reading your encounter submissions!

Congratulations, Top 8 contestants!
I look forward to the encounters, and hope to playtest at least a couple!
I also hope to look back and review some previous rounds this week.
Edit: Should recruitment for these playtests occur in this forum since it's RPGSS related, or in the Recruitment forum proper? I'm thinking one big recruitment thread here after the encounters are revealed?
Congrats you 8 folk! Knock us dead!

Congrats to the Top 8!
It looks like the blog post got wedged. It's at the top of the blog page but isn't on the front page, isn't a linkable blog post, and doesn't show up under the RPG Superstar tag.

Yeah, that's an oddity I am sure will get fixed.

Good luck, top 8, and congrats!
Some unsolicited and probably entirely unnecessary advice, but just in case---do make sure you hit that "preview" button before submitting on this one. I noticed last season, the higher the word count, the greater divergence between Word's word count feature and the submission tool's.

And I sincerely thank you for your patience in doing so!
I hate having to DQ people. :P
Congratulations Top 8! I was hoping to get comments on everyone before voting ended, but it was not to be. :)
I'd also like to offer my services if any of you are looking for more pit crew to look over your encounters. Just send me a PM if you're interested.
Wooh! Congrats to the Top 8! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you folks come up with in the coming rounds!
I'm a mixed bag of feelings right now, admittedly, but I'm so happy I was able to make it as far as I did! I've learned so much, and I can't wait to try again!
Now to go post to my heart's content on my monster, hehehe...

Seriously, if you do not know how to check your word count with the formatting coding by now, PM me, because you do not want DQ yourself by not hitting your numbers.

The little oyster that could! Thank you all for advancing me to the next round. I have every intention of addressing all the excellent feedback Lil Scrappy got once I've finished up this blood sacrifice and submitted my encounter. Those screams you are hearing coming from my basement are ones of joy, I promise. Anxious, sacrificial joy.
Way to GO top 8!
May your glory take you to illustrious new heights!
Congratulations. I look forward to 8 great encounters.
Just wanted to give a big congrats to the top 8 for moving on!
Now, to decide how to shoehorn a 1300 word encounter set in the River Kingdoms into something appropriate to submit to Wayfinder.

Or scrub the serial numbers off and offer it to a 3pp!

Thank you so much—voters, judges, and all who provided feedback (even, and maybe especially, those without mercy ;)—I could not have gotten this far without your support and advice.
Congratulations to my fellow Top 8'ers (Taters?)!
And, to those who didn't make it, I want to say: It's been an honor competing with you. I'm proud to have such creative and intelligent peers; I think you are all amazing.
Now...off to finish my encounter. Stress level: Magenta.

Wayfinder is 1500 words...

It's more about making sure it fits one of the categories they are actually looking for. Since I was already set in the River Kingdoms, makes sense to look at that fit before talking to any 3PP.

On a more serious note: all of the Top 8 should have just gotten an email notification that they've received access to all three of the Flip-Mats used for this round. If you did not receive this, let me know!
In utter shock right now. I really did not expect to advance. Thanks to everyone, judges and voters alike, who took the time to offer feedback. There is so much talent and creativity among this group, and that monster round blew my mind with the creatures everyone came up with. Every single competitor did fantastic work. It is an honor to be competing beside you all. You guys truly inspire me.

Wife: Taters? What's taters, precious?
