What to do with a Medium?

I think the best way to use a Medium is going to end up being Champion, and then switch hitting to Heirophant and Archmage as needed. I'm focusing my build on the dueling sword and going dex to damage, since I get what is basically a free power attack, and +2 to hit with Spirit Focus as a feat. With medium armor, he's gonna be able to fight pretty well. And, if he has to, he can cast spells when needed. Ring of Sustenance is obviously a necessity.

Best use? One level dip for champion (and spirit focus). Especially for TWF or archer builds.

It could be an interesting class to play straight, but feels a little lacking in that regard.
Relic hunter seems absolutely mandatory, however, as no matter how generous the DM is, there simply _usually_ aren't going to be workable locations available. Hey, we're in a small town with no theaters, stages or throne rooms. Guess I can't do a marshal today. 'Hey, can I hang out at the castle gate for an hour or so? You'll barely notice me.'

Break them out of prison...

Bonus points for gnome Mediums...

You can do lots of things with a Medium - but the important thing is that it MUST be a Gnome with the Rapscallion trait, so that it's a small Medium at large.

That use of RAW for a Medium was Well Done. :-)

A halfling champion actually sounds like a pretty neat way to go because of the Favored Class bonus. Pretty sure no one would complain about an additional +6 to all non-spell damage rolls.

Halfling archmage medium blasters sound pretty good too, actually.

And the Human FCB, as usually, seems pretty hilariously powerful.

You get to use Spirit Surge without incurring Influence up to 5! times per day at lv12! while you stick to your Taboo. WOOF.

Halfling mediums should be pretty awesome, but their favored class bonus only applies to themselves, not those they share their seance with.

It's not all bad, though. Hierophant and Archmage share the same casting stat, so you can build your caster to be good at both of those.

The casting stat for the Medium is CHA. INT and WIS have no effect. Even when channeling the Hierophant or Archmage you would use CHA as the primary casting stat.

An exact 7-year necro to reply to somebody who hasn't posted since 6 years, not bad, not bad at all.

Nah, I am glad Chark brought up the thread. When reading Occult Adventures the first time, the class gave me quite a headache. It's rarely discussed here in the forum, and often reduced to "play champion". This thread offers more than that.

The only one that can kill this abomination is the seventh son of a seventh son.
