So... Pummeling charge + Spirited Charge + Rhino Hide armor + Janni Rush = BOOM!


Advice


Let's say you're doing a level or 2 a Master of Many Styles monk so you can Fuse Styles to get both Pummeling Charge and Janni Rush going on at the same time, the rest in Brawler or Sacred Fist Warpriest. Charging with Spirited Charge means you deal double damage, Janni Rush means you roll unarmed damage twice and add together, Rhino Hide just adds another 2d6 damage to each attack (or don't use armor depending on your build, whatever, this is just icing). Pummeling Charge allows you to make a ridiculous number of attacks on a charge.

Sooo.... anyone want to make a monster out of these things together? I'd love to see someone build one of these beasts?


Spirited Charge only works when charging while mounted. The way pummeling charge works you'd want as many attacks as possible at as high a BAB as possible, so a monk archetype that doesn't lose flurry with Horn of the Criosphinx is likely mathematically a better option than MoMS (which still takes two swift actions to get going at the dip level.)


You can perform a Pummeling Charge while mounted, nothing says you can't. And that's why you just dip a level or two into MoMS, the rest of your levels are what's giving you flurry.


Where are you getting the mount?


Silly computer. You can ride anything you want really, buy a horse, use a Mount from a wand, get an animal companion from a sorcerer bloodline.

Ride the Summoner's Eidolon, ride the Wild Shaped Druid, etc.


A mount could be obtained from the nature soul -> animal ally path. You can gain flurry by taking levels in Sacred Fist War Priest, i think it's probably stronger than levels in Brawler.

Since Rhino Hide adds 2d6 damage per attack I'm unsure if it would only be added once to Pummel Strike since it's technically only one attack. Not sure how it plays out.

Edit: Actually Brawler may be better due to the extra feats and having full BAB for the selection of those feats.

You cant pummeling charge and spirited charge together.

Both are full round actions that are exclusive and worded similar to spring attack.

You can pummeling + janni + horn of chrosphinx + rhino hide
Or
Spirited charge + horn of cyrospinx+ dragon style + janni + rhino hide

But you can not do pummeling and spirited charge.

Gonna be honest spirited charge will be higher damage till you get 4+ attacks from pummeling style. Plus pummeling doesnt require you to be mounted.

Why can't you pummeling charge and spirited charge together?

Pummeling charge is using a charge action, which is what Spirited Charge needs.


Fruian Thistlefood, look at the text of Spirited Charge, it says nothing about requiring a full round action, all that it says is "when you charge".


You could also get the mount from being a wild child brawler (after your MoMS dip).


Could you somehow combine this with a Druid wild shaped into a Carnivorous Crystal using Feral Combat Training and Strongjaw?

Edit: Oh never mind, oozes don't benefit from Pummeling Charge ;_;

Oooohh Mammoth Hide looks sexy with this!

So let's say you're 20th level - Large size through whatever various methods, and have a Monk's Belt to keep you at top damage, your unarmed attack does 4d8, Janni Rush means unarmed attack does 8d8, Mammoth Hide adds 4d6, Horn of the Criosphinx doubles your strength. Assume a strength of 30. [8d8+4d6+20(str)+ 5(?)magic modifiers like Magic Fang/Amulet of Mighty Fists] x2 for spirited charge, for each pummeling attack, adding together all hits, with potential for critting....

Throw in Elemental Fist too while you're at it?

Keep in mind Janni Rush damage and extra damage dice such as rhino hide can't multiply on the crit. You probably want to separate out damage which doesn't multiply.

Also I think Monk's Belt is just a 3.5 item. Does it exist in pathfinder?

Monk's Robe does the same as the Monk's Belt. It got changed to make place for physical statboosters.

You'll also lose your monk ac from wearing the armor for charge damage. I have a PFS character who pretty much does this but dumped WIS because I wanted to wear armor with the brawling enchantment.

It's a good thing the majority of the levels are in Brawler then, which doesn't lose the bonus while wearing armor.

The monk levels are only for MoMS.

This will do around 700 damage on a crit or something near there if that's what you wanted and it uses contingent action to charge a second time that round as well.


alternatively, couldnt you play a sohei for immediate prereq-ignoring mounted skirmisher+spirited charge and have 'pounce' from level 2?

tack on nature soul+animal ally for mount that sohei has multiple ways to power up?

The reason for the MoMS was to combo Pummeling Charge with Janni Rush.

Rhino Hide yes - but I believe the Janni Rush damage would multiply on a crit.

It's unarmed fighter, and it doesn't work. Their 1st level bonus style feat must be an actual style feat, not a feat in the style chain.

Forgot to check up on this thread but the feat itself says Janni rush damage does not multiply.
