Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, Rulebook Subscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

How about having them all ride bulls/cows and call themselves Bovine Intervention?

A series of increasingly self-aggrandizing group names centered around the group's god wizard.

Claudius Halvern and the Heartbreakers
The Claudius Halvern Experience
Claudius and the Claudettes
The Artist Formerly Known As Claudius (and uncredited supporting cast)

The Bloody Bloodletters
The Landlord Killers
The Sluggoes

Dark Archive

3 people marked this as a favorite.

The bare-knuckle competitors are a spiteful and childish bunch in my imagination:

Boris Is Gay

Luther Owes Me 5gp

Felix Is The Coolest Mercenery Evar

The Sexy Orc And His Lackeys

KillSquad YOLO

We once had a party of mostly spellcasters that had the unfortunate tendency of being swallowed whole. Our group's eventual name: W.A.N.D. for We Are Not Delicious.

A couple my group has used
Collateral Damage Crew
Warband Ohana (the group was small and broken)

What is the most ridiculous name you can think of for a mercenary company?

Another thought occurs. You could seek a name in a commercial campaign. I once ran a WoW guild with some friends that we called "Messin' With Sasquatch". So maybe a mercenary company called "Hangry Moments", "The Men Your Man Should Smell Like" or "The Most Interesting Men in the World".

Liberty's Edge

The Super Terrific Dudes "That's right, ladies, I'm an STD."

Liberty's Edge

League of Villanous Evildoers Maniacally United For Frightening Investments in Naughtiness.

We don't always quote Monty Python, but when we do, we prefer the Holy Grail. Stay nerdy, my friends.

The Men Your Man Should Smell Like.

And here's their magic mouth/minor image Ad Campaign.

"Look at your hireling, then back at me. Now back at your hireling, now back at me. Sadly, he's not me. But he could fight like me, with my training, and this potion. I'm on a horse."

Rinse, repeat.

We've never swung a falcion and we're not too good at hexes, but we can help out when your back's against the wall.

If the Mercenary groups consists of nothing but men they will be known as the Sisterhood of the Sword or if the group consists of nothing but woman call them the Brotherhood of the Blade.

Boys Named Sue- the PC wants them to be good fighters right.

This should help: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qjpg&page=1?100-Adventureing-Group-Names

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the end I picked like 20 names from this topic and forced my player to roll a d20; he ended up with "The Greed Elementals," and as such that is how they shall be known from this day forward.

Blonde: What? We call ourselves that because of all of the blood we produce...

(...from our enemies.)

Dark Archive

A pair of summoners in a group tried to become their own adventuring party named "One Million". When told by an NPC that this was unacceptable due to there not being enough persons, they proceeded to summon everything they could sustain at once. The NPC's answer: "It's still not one million".

Okay... I gotta poke a little fun here-- so, what's a "Mercanary"? I'm getting visions of some kind of bizarre yellow-feathered underwater songbird that Merfolk keep in cages to brighten up their homes... but I'm not sure how well they'd behave in groups. Or is that a group of folks who catch, train, and sell mercanaries? I might have to use that in a game sometime. :P

Also, noticed someone brought up "The Lesser Evils" as a mercenary group name-- now that would be a cool name for an expensive but competent mercenary team, or a team that gets the job done-- with lots of collateral damage.

I almost thought it was a place that cans Mercs....Seems a good way to store them for a while....
