It hasn't been created yet so it's hard to preview it; we posted a look at some of the data and the techniques behind it described by the cartographer.
The size is likely to be around 36 by 24 inches. A fairly standard size for items like this.
Cost will depend on whether we have enough backers to bind it into the book itself, or whether we do a short run to order for a few people (which is more expensive per piece). I'll share the price with backers as soon as I know.

Check out the latest update:
Southlands Update 16
Thanks to our more than 700 backers, the Southlands project has unlocked more than 30 stretch goals. Behold everything we've added so far.
Added to the Core Book
So far, we've added 15 items to the core Southlands hardcover. They include:
- A big city guide section on Per-Bastet, the City of Cats, which is a crossroads city of the region, plus a map of the area.
- The City of Gnoll Raiders, a hidden stronghold full of scoundrels and slavers.
- A big expansion for the Southlands pantheon, with details on more than 15 gods.
- Additional maps and art for the book.
- The Bastet priesthood, with new domains, NPCs, and spells, by Amanda Hamon Kunz.
- The Lost City of the Serpent Crown.
- Lotus Magic and details about the Well of Urd.
- New player societies by Steve Kenson, Ari Marmell, and C.A. Suleiman.
- Ramag, the Monolith Kingdom, by Brian Suskind.
- The Floating Village, by Paizo developer Adam Daigle.
- The Great Hive of Arbeyach,a city of the tosculi insectfolk, by Wolfgang Baur.
- A second round of additional art and maps for the core book, including regional maps.
- New art commissioned from Fred Fields.
- Ishadia, the celestial kingdom of the aasimar.
- The City of Crimson Pillars, a place of ancient horrors, by Wolfgang Baur.
- 8 Bonus PDFs
That's an AWESOME list, and there's even more to come (including a TENTH adventure added to the Arabian Nights Adventure collection and an AWESOME set of custom Southlands dice!) ... but there's only five days left! This week is the FINAL week!

In the interest of my wallet, will the Ten Arabian nights be available as an Add-on after the KS?
The Arabian Nights adventures are exclusive to the Kickstarter, but yes, backers can upgrade. So pledging lower now should work. (We're still working on some new fulfillment options, and this seems like the sort of thing that we're hoping to enable.)
ALSO: Werelion! Fairly awesome, I think.

Yeah buddy! I'm actually starting to wonder just how big this thing is going to get before it's all over! :)

* Ok.
Ishadia.
Mummy Necrology.
Yay. Two things finally piqued my interest.
The thought that Ishadia was a stretch goal completely bugged me - it's right on the edge of The Dragon Empire after all. Why explore places further away and yet leave a gap in the Midgard CS book? Good thing it's being filled in.
* Known Lizardfolk fan. Would be good (runs off to check who the author might be...)

It bugged me too! Ben McFarland and Brian Suskind wanted to cover new ground rather than revisit known sites, so they argued against revisiting Ishadia (since it is already in the Midgard CS book). I think they had a point, but I put it on the list of stretch goals.
I'm very glad we are covering it, though, as I think it is one of those hinge-points that are good for campaign variety and conflict.

The true be told, Ben and I talked about Ishadia for a long time before making our recommendation to Wolfgang.
When it came down to it, we had to focus on the Southland continent (which is realllllly big) even if that meant Ishadia got bumped down into the stretch goal list.
I'm thrilled we get to add it to the book after all. My hope for Ishadia is three fold:
1. Really hammer home the image of it as a gateway city to the South and East that has fallen into corruption and decline.
2. Play up the competition and conflicts between Ishadia and Shibai (her one-time colony). Where the old nation is falling in importance, the newer one is rising - an explosive situation.
3. Really explore the Aasimar angle and the city of Shuppurak
What do you all hope to see in Ishadia or the Southlands?

Wow, Ishadia sounds very cool! I think we're going to need an awesome illustration done for this bad boy! :)
Speaking of art, I had a great idea for the nation of Omphaya and its Titan king. [Which I thought I'd tell you here as a perk for the readers]
I have this image in my head of a pillar-ed archway/open window. Omphaya's rakshasa vizier leans up against one of these pillars with a smirk on his catlike face. Filling the archway opening behind the rakshasa is the massive, grinning face of the titan Gamka.
That was actually the initial image that launched the design of Omphaya. :)

Southlands dice... Unlocked!
EDIT TO ADD: Yeah, our section of the crossover was written and edited a while back, and Dreamscarred's section is in progress. It will still happen, it's just taken longer than expected.
That's cool, just making sure I wasn't being an idiot or muddled.

Wow, screaming towards $80k and three great stretch goals. If you're looking for a little taste of Selket, Queen of Scorpions, then here you go:
Among the nomadic desert folk, Selket's name is both feared and revered. Her cult is strong among the people who lead their lives in that sun-scorched land. She protects the faithful from the dangers of the desert and helps them take their places in the afterlife. Her name means "She who closes the throat," a possible reference to the venom of the scorpion that is her sacred creature. However, her name can also mean "She who opens the throat," reflecting her aspect as a goddess of healing, as well as one who meets the dead in the afterlife and revives them once more to take their place in service to the gods. Civilization, however, has all but forsaken her. Her city--the City of Scorpions--lies ruined and forgotten in the burning wastes. Her devoted servants work towards the day when she once again takes her rightful place in the hearts and minds of those that live in the great cities and the fertile lands around them. Those that refuse Selket's protection will feel her sting.

@justmebd, yes, you'll need to do that during the campaign. The way to get the print 10 Arabian Nights is to pledge at vizier level.

Signed on as a backer last night. You may call me "Beloved of Horus." :^ )
The adventures and supplements were too much to pass up. And one of my players needs a new set of dice and the exclusive Southlands Dice Add-On was just the thing!
So the dice are sold separately right? How does that work?
Welcome sir!
Glad you dig the dice! It makes me giddy that so many folks like them - you may have heard I'm something of a dice geek :)
The way I understand it, these dice will not be Kickstarter exclusives, but they will be produced in limited quantity. What that means is that folks who back the Southlands Kickstarter (even it it's only at the $1 level!) get first crack at adding the dice as an Add On - just be sure to increase your pledge enough to cover the dice!
Once all the backers that want the dice (or multiple sets ... come on, you know you want to :) have purchased them, any remaining sets (if any) will be offered for sale at some point from Kobold Press. Not sure if the price will go up at that point or not, or if there will be any left, but ... if you absolutely want to be sure you get one or more sets, your best bet is to get 'em now! :)

Oh if we just would make 1001 backers... I'm curious.
Agreed!
Although I have NOT been privy to what awesomeness is unleashed if/when that magical 1,001 Backer number is reached ... I actually have a pretty strong hunch. If I'm right, it will be super awesome!
... goes off to try and smooth talk some details from the Great Kobold Overloard ...
