My first session is tonigĥt. Playing with two friends who have never played Pathfinder before but are super keen.
We have:
Krasue the Ever Obedient - Human, Neutral, Wizard, spirit binder, member of the Emerald Order)

Dallah "Hammauh" al-Nuas - Elfmarked, Eunuch, ex-Slave, Bard with a homebrewed Temple Dancer of Bastet archetype)

Xashenka - Samsaran Oracle of the Heavens, spirit guide, says they are from distant Cathay) - new player

Nuh Ath-Halitath - Djinnborn of the Talmashek, Bloodrager (Air) - new player

Starting off in Per-Bastet, they all have a reason to be there and a reason to leave quickly and without notice. We're starting off with Cat and Mouse with one of the rewards of delivering the Grimalkin Eye is being smuggled out of the city and onwards to Piracy (or whatever takes their fancy)

Liberty's Edge

That sounds awesome!

Yeah, it really does sound REALLY awesome! :)

We didn't end up playing in the end. We've scheduled to play all day Sunday instead.

What did happen was character background changes to tie everyone together.

Nuh now the fled son of a wealthy merchant family. He's fallen on hard times and been muscle for a crime-boss. Dallah has implicated him in hir escape and now he's on the lamb with Dallah and resents hir a lot.

Dallah was sold as a slave to the Bastet temple. Groomed to be be a concubine spt sent to the Mharoti Empire when ze found out about it they weren't too happy and fell in to a spira of Pesh use. Has been the go to courtesan for the crime-boss known as The Jackal.

Xashenka is looking for the embodiment of a prophecy and has been through a few past livesm she believes that Nuh fulfills it and her previous reincarnation found him and was drowned before imparting the knowledge to him.

Krasue couldn't make the session.

I'm building an obsidian portal and will update it regularly when we start playing. For now here are the written backstories

Played tonight. When your gaming group is 3 players, 2 entirely new to RPGs, I didn't expect them to spend an hour and 15 minutes (real, game time) sat at a tea stall in a bazaar talking to Mistress Henna (from Cat & Mouse). Xashenka the Oracle passed her sense motive to know Henna was withholding information and cast Abadar's truth telling. Henna faked she was under its hold and now the party believe her outright.
Nuh and Dallah are apparently fatphobic as this is their reason for not trusting Hakaan. Despite him offering a higher reward and more sure way of escpaing the city.

They have entered the Perfume District and made easy friends with the money lender, in exchange for information they said they'd recover the money owed from Raheed.

En route to the laundry women they were spotted by enforcers of Yusef the Jackal. A realllllly brutal fight ensued. One street thug fled the scene to inform his boss of Nuh and Dallah's whereabouts. Cue home made chase cards! The cornered him in the middle of a sacred cat herding, Dallah is mortified at the sacrilege but relieved Yusef doesn't know exactly where they are.

In case anyone missed it ...

Endzeitgeist Reviews Southlands!

From the review:
"This may well be the best sourcebook Kobold Press has released ... perhaps this is even one of the best sourcebooks I've ever read. Southlands is excellence - if you even remotely are interested in the subject matter, do yourself a favor and get this glorious tome - it contains enough ideas and adventure for a lifetime and I am not engaging in hyperbole here. My final verdict will clock in at 5 stars + seal of approval and I'll also nominate this as a candidate for my Top Ten of 2015."

As I said in the other thread, a lot of people put in a LOT of time, energy, blood, and sweat into this book, so reviews like this make it all worth while!

Scarab Sages

So, my campaign is still going strong, players are super invested in the campaign.

but I have a rules question...

Is the sword dancer supposed to be able to use dexterity to hit with a scimitar? I can't see it anywhere.

Weapon finesse doesn't work with a scimitar normally, and if they took the Dervish Dancer feat then the Deadly Artistry ability at 5th level is redundant (well, they'd get 1.5 dex to damage for two hand use but...)

Yes, they are. :/ I'm not sure how we missed that in there, but yes. I'd make it a part of the Dervish Dancer feat to avoid the redundancy.
