Chartered Company: The Veiled
Planned POI: Tavern - The Veiled Distillery
Affiliation: Phaeros and The Seventh Veil
Theme: Gather together, have a good time, drink some brews, have some brawls, help the settlement party. The free wheeling, free spirited rough riders of Phaeros and most importantly: The Darker side of The Seventh Veil.
Alignment: NE, LN, TN, CN
Roles: All non-good roles.
Patron Gods: Any non-good

Description:
The darker and mysterious part of The Seventh Veil, The Veiled are those of us who handle the jobs others in T7V are uncomfortable doing. We aren't afraid to get our hands dirty, and welcome all roles for those who want to play the darker side, such as assassins, necromancers, thieves, and crafters of death.

Roleplaying: The Veiled is a sponsored company intent on having a good time no matter the outcome. Of course we love our home that lets us do what we do so we want to ensure it is safe and prosperous. Grab a good drink and come brawl with us while we work on controlling Towers in the wars for Phaeros, fight monsters and do some brewing with a bunch of like-minded folks who don’t mind doing what needs to be done. This group will be PvP centric and we will help our members to become PvP enabled while also handling PvE, whether that be stamping out those encroaching on our settlement or escalating the issues around our enemies. The Veiled is devoted to ensuring the freedoms of the River Kingdoms, and then some. We advocate self expression, fun and merriment even if someone "loses an eye". When it comes to defeating our enemies, we enjoy honest PvP combat. We aren't afraid to bring the fight to the enemy, be it lowly goblins or high level PvP. We intend to make our home in one of the controlling Towers surrounding Phaeros though we will roam throughout our lands. For us, the neutral and evil alignments we are associated with, are more about freedom than sadism.

Who can join: The Veiled seeks those who want to have fun, set fire to a goblin or three, enjoy life as it comes and be the sort of folk that your parents warned you about. If you are an individual looking for a good time while not worrying about being a goody two-shoes, looking for a good group of buddies to go out drinking and do some old fashioned brawling and don’t mind getting your hands dirty with all that brew please register on The Seventh Veil's Website then apply to The Seventh Veil here and then join The Veiled here.

I've added your Company to the Guild Recruitment & Helpful Links list alongside Phaeros. If you have a brief description you'd like to appear there to let people know about your guild while they're browsing that list, please PM me.

Good luck!

Welcome, Veilures!

Just out of curiosity, how extensively does Phaeros intend to commit city footprint to unsavory factions such as evil or chaotic religions, assassin's guilds, thieves' guilds, or the Whispering Way?

I wonder if we'll end up with an assassin's war between Golgotha's Red Mantis chapter and your Skinsaw Men... that'd be interesting!

Religion-wise, Phaeros and T7V Patron Deity is Sivanah. Beyond that, I'm thinking we would support any Deity that isn't directly opposed to Sivanah and the corner alignments. {LG,LE,CG,CE} But one of the Stewards would know for sure.

Rogues will be one of the core roles Phaeros supports early on which will probably cover assassin feats/skills. It his been known for awhile that there will be assassins in T7V.

Well, if you build a Temple for cleric training, that only allows you to offer training based on one deity's portfolio. Even if you commit a large plot to a Cathedral, that only gives you 3. And assassin training will require you to build support for an NPC assassin faction- either Red Mantis, Skinsaw, or Daggermark- those skills won't be trained at the regular rogue trainer. Ditto for bandit training although we don't know which named factions will handle that. And quite possibly ditto again for necromancy specialists.

As a TN settlement with interests in supporting players on all 4 sides of the alignment chart, I think you may run into major problems with managing limited supplies of real estate and DI.

Goblin Squad Member

Well remember that Phaeros is to be a University Settlement. If we go close to what Tork stated:

Tork Shaw wrote:

Class Training Focused: This settlement focuses on class training only.

It trains 9 classes and supports 3 more (for a total of 12 supported).
It supports 5 feat schools.
It trains 1 craft skill.
It trains 5 trade skills.
It trains 15 Skills.

That will open up a lot. Of the starting Deities, only 5 would fall into the Alignment one-step rule of Phaeros. One of them being, Norgorber which would be ideal for assassins in Phaeros.

As for factions, I don't really know what the Stewards have in mind.

I probably conveyed my response poorly. Being TN, we cannot support LG, LE, CG, and CE aligned Deities, Classes (like Paladin), Feats, etc...

I have a personal leaning towards Daggermark myself but may end up aligned with one of the other factions depending on how things progress. I have always been up front about being an assassin and The Veiled is my Company. We aren't all assassins but there are plenty of us who are not nearly as neutral as most may suspect. Also, we will need some balance to those who lean more towards good.

Assassins won't be the main focus of Phaeros but we will be sure to support them or I will make arrangements with those that do focus on them for the needed training. Currently we will be trying to support them as well as as many of the other roles as possible.

Not really.

I appreciate Guurzak's concern, but we've know for a long time that our "goal" of providing an extremely wide variety of training might not be practical. How we choose to balance the needs and desires of our citizens will largely depend on what those citizens are clamoring for, and how well we can plan ahead to maximize our offerings.

It is extremely unlikely that we'll try to offer multiple Temples or Assassin's Guilds, but we won't know until we get in-game and get a sense for what is actually involved in achieving our goals.

Hmmm, that sounds suspiciously like Meaningful Human Interaction ;-).

As much as necessary...maybe a couple times more just to be sure.

I would say as long as The Veiled is doing our job(s), Phaeros will build what we need to do them. Being a TN settlement we will have Evil, Neutral, and Good aligned members and will not just be catering to the Good or Neutral. We will have Evil that stays high enough rep to continue to be part of the settlement.

So, if you plan to be NE you will find a place in Phaeros and The Veiled in particular. The more members we have, the greater power we will wield to have training and support structures to facilitate our needs.

Come on UNC, I expected at least a comment from you guys on T7V having an Evil oriented company but I get nothing. Not even a little surprised?

Goblin Squad Member

I just wanted to say that the last post seemed to come across as baiting and was totally meant to just get some of the UNC members (who I'm the Diplomat to from T7V) to lend me their thoughts on my Company. Sorry guys if it sounded like I was trying to start something.

This is true, I don't intend to be Gandhi. I did include some playful baiting, as with friends, to get their attention, not to piss them off. If they don't see it that way, I'll be sure to clear it up with them :)

I dunno. Gandhi in Civ5 is pretty mean!

I had to wear down his forces by expanding my territory up to him. Then letting him war with me on my territory by my citadels.

Ghandi is a tough leader in Civ, especially for a newer Civ player like myself.

Goblin Squad Member

Maybe I should aspire to be more like him. Hopefully we can be as powerful at least.

Yeah, Avari has the right idea, but we don't want no Yoga Flame around here, so...

Yes indeed, are are making a fuss of our nameday, and something evil is definitely afoot, but I will happily come out of the shadows to meet with Old Buurz. We may have business to attend to for you or some to give at times should you be open to such.

I don't know, Dhalsim (The Yogi pacifist from Streetfighter II) was pretty amazing and I wouldn't mind having some Yogi flame on our side. That would be quiet the site!

Please don't make baiting posts of any kind. It's far too easy to take it the opposite way it is intended.

Yeah, I see how touchy (and tacky) it was and considering how most view the relationship between T7V and the UNC it came across wrong. My apologies to the UNC. I will keep any playful banter to PMs and TS where it correctly communicates as such.

I find the best way to bait the UNC is to attach a blood worm smeared in peanut butter onto my hook.

I ate a blood worm on a dare, the peanut butter would have been nice, but not the hook.

That was back during my youth, when I was far more chaotic and prone to be drunk or stoned on the weekends.

Keep it classy Blood. It is always nice to see more assassins popping up to compete with. Best of luck.

Thanks and I look forward to competition as well. We Assassins do pop up in the most unexpected places, as it should be.

Black Silver motioned you over, "Come sit at my table friend."

He looked around to see if no one was watching before he whispered to you. "I've been watching you my friend. I think you would be a nice fit into my Company. If you are interested, I've got some Dryad Blood Wine that I 'acquired' from Golgotha last week."

He held his hand up quickly to silence you. "Not to loud my friend. This wine is banned in these parts. As a gift, I'll give you this wine. Head to the back room. You'll be stopped but say, 'The shadow dragon keeps its secrets,' and they will let you pass."

Black Silver slipped the wine into your vest and motioned you to go.

The Veiled is still quite open to any that choose to walk the darker path, or just can't help but dabble in it. Come, don your veil and be free to do as you will.

For a limited time to certain clientele we will be offering our Donut Cheesesteak Burger.

Heads to the back of the Tavern to where a "special" room was setup to hold important animals.

Only 1? You're losing your touch there Silver! Better spike it with some love potion to make sure she'll be back for more.

Just a reminder that The Veiled are the "darker side" of The Seventh Veil, and that Phaeros will likely be the premier home for Assassins and other darker types in the Everbloom Alliance.

If you're not afraid to get your hands dirty in the service of something greater than greed or dominance for the sake of dominance, but are concerned that we might be a little too "goody two-shoes", I encourage you to take a closer look. T7V has a very long history of supporting RP Evil.

We don't play with poodles. Kobolds are a different matter. Come and play?

There will be those that don't have it in them, and we do have to stay at least slightly neutral to stay in our home, but there is no intent to be wishy washy about cutting the hearts out of our enemies or targets. Some may not enjoy it, but others are lined up to the jobs. You're welcome to come join us and find out. Granted, we can't go full bat sh*t crazy evil, but there is plenty to be had in the NE zone.

Phaeros has six official sub communities. Three of them are PvP heavy in theme. Two more PvP heavy themed sub communities are waiting approval. Just thought some people should know.
