I would guess circumventing a ban "breaks other guidelines" so I've just been using that.

Zog is kind of an unfortunate choice, guys...
We should not allow the forces of fascism or social nationalists to remove from use perfectly good words like Zog just because they spew their drivel. The fascists didn't trademark it, they don't deserve to own it even as an acronym.
This is Ryan's opportunity to reclaim and rebrand the name Zog, to wrest the noun from the hands of the vile and return it into the estate where it rightly belongs.

It took the team all week and a lot of late nights but they have the server and the client working. We have been running around the forest whacking goblins and bandits and skeletons. We are Alpha Testing!Nice,
What's the ETA on EE?
"When its ready" is the last we heard. They'll be working on a two week update cycle for the Alpha, and my guess is they'll be needing at least 4 cycles to get this rascal ready for EE. So, call it two months minimum.

I am all for those who want to test in alpha. However it does no good to set a fixed date for EE and then find there is a bug which means the game is not ready. I applaud Ryan for NOT announcing a date.
No EE before it's time.
Thank you GW for the hard work and long hours. I hope you get time off for Paizo Con.

Bringing in EE pledgers to make the testing pool bigger makes sense, but it also raises the question: what makes an alpha pledge 900$ more valuable at this point?
Honestly, I was originally thinking the same right before upping to the Alpha. Among other measurable benefits (i.e. monster casting, est. ~$300 worth of game time), we're literally putting our money where our mouth is and directly supporting Goblinworks in creating potentially the best MMO of its era.
P.S.: I'm not trying to score brownie points here - I genuinely want to help this game succeed!

Regarding monster casting, there are only 80-something alpha pledges between both Kickstarters. Spending development time on a feature which will affect so few seems unlikely to be a high priority, and to get enough crowdforgers to support pushing it farther up the queue, there will have to be something in it for them.
As to game time, the pioneers got 4 months, and the add-ons offered game time at 8.33/month for the 100$ item, or 10/month for the 30$ item. Even if we're counting from the standard of 15/month, EE would have to last 5 years for that to work out.
Everyone who pledged helped the game exist, but for the same amount a pledger could have gotten Crowdforger Guild twice and would have far more to show for it.
Really, if they add something significant to alpha accounts and let current pioneers upgrade to it, they could expand their tester pool, avoid making current alpha pledgers feel cheated, and could draw in more money. I think many people would throw in another 900$ for something like a 'Destiny's Triplet'.

In this case, the Zog server is named after the Empire of Zog... a goblin kingdom which used to control this section of the River Kingdoms. The existence of dozens of other 'zogs' is irrelevant.

not even 300 minutes into Monday though (@ Redmond).
Paizo's business hours are Monday–Friday, 10 AM–5 PM Pacific Time, and I guess Goblinworks' are close to that.
Seems like they usually start getting in around 9am and work well past 5pm fairly often.
So yes, earliest we might hear something is likely more than four hours away. That doesn't lessen the anticipation though. :]
