Everyone needs to have their land rush information in by midnight PDT. Results will be available probably some time around 10AM PDT Monday morning. Pretty much as fast as I can get them done in the morning (I currently have a sick toddler at home so I need to be there, not in the office until 2AM). The results so far are very interesting; we're going to have more conflicts than I expected!
Best of luck with the sick kid! We can wait if you are needed at home, that takes the higher priority.
Lord, yes. We'll even wait until 10:30 ;-).
Now, all you Guild leaders...start changing your picks. You know you're in conflict, so time to second-guess yourselves!
Time for those last minute surprise members to apply and get approved! Thera re a couple hundred in 1, 2, and 3 person guilds. There are a few thousand not even applied for any settlement, yet!
Definitely. best of luck with the kiddo and the land rush. I am a bit interested to hear what you guys think of as the imminent conflicts? :)
I was going to ask if "midnight on sunday" meant midnight sat-sun or sun-mon, but thank you for clearing that up. GL with the kid. Family first.
Gol Phyllain wrote: the imminent conflicts? I know you didn't mean "us guys", but here goes: it's easy to imagine some Guild leaders thinking "okay, our top three picks are really our TOP THREE, and all the rest are "oh ghod, we're dhoomed". It's also kinda easy to cast an eye around the map and see some sites that'll be high on several, perhaps many, lists; I look forward to conversations we have in coming weeks about people's thought-processes about their selections.

Thanks Lee. I hope that your little one feels better soon. :(

I am wondering if there will be lots of conflicts in the top 5-10 picks. After that I am sure the conflicts increase.
I know that when Golgotha was deciding our picks, we went top 5, top 10... Bottom 5... What else can we fill in the middle? I wonder how common that was.
Are we going to get to see the pick orders of every group? I would love to see a heat map of the most common picks. Where the general community is putting its eggs.
We may see that after, but I'll bet it'll be Top Secret for a few weeks at least.

As long as we get location AB out in the middle of nowhere so that we have the most exclusive tavern around... err... wait... hold on a sec... I'm being told that we didn't want that location... hrm... be right back...

Aragon Did something similar. Top and bottom 5 first, to determine the ones we wanted and didn't want at all. Then went 5-10 and 20-25 and then the middle 10. Breaking it up made it easier IMHO.

From talking to a lot of people, pretty sure the biggest fuss is about K.
Seeing the decision making of Aeturnum after they had decided where to go (I kept myself out during), I could see why. Being on that crossroad has potential. My only concern would me how far their food is. Cut them off using the road, and they could be in trouble.
Fun times ahead!
K is just such a good trading post/tavern location it isn't funny. However, you'll need to be friendly with a lot of folks, because otherwise you're going to be easily raided since there are multiple roads leading to your front doors.
Yup. It's a little bit difficult to make absolute statements quite yet, which was something I found frustrating. Even knowing the relative safety of roads changes a lot. We know that it isn't complete safety, but not much more, unless I missed something. Next few days are going to be fun.
Gol Morbis wrote: Yup. It's a little bit difficult to make absolute statements quite yet, which was something I found frustrating. . Yeah, this. Kind of difficult to make what at least feels like a critically important decision, on very incomplete information.
What can you do. We are all probably going to see our settlement fall at least once anyway. I'm using this as a learning experience. Build up information in preparation for grabbing the next one.
Unless Golgotha takes over the entire world that is. Bwuhahaha.
Tomorrow morning is going to be more nutters than my great, great granny!

If this happens you'll see all good aligned characters lined up on the "edge of the world" before the next hex expansion. Just consider what that might look like.

They'd get to keep the second? Maybe you guys aren't so bad.
Oh no, the second is conscripted into the military. The third is sent to the salt mines. The fourth gets to help haul my personal collection of green hats from town to town.
You can keep the fifth one though!

But at that point, the 5th becomes the 1st again. And the cycle begins anew
Morbis, you are up far too early - it's still stupid o'clock where I am...
Now you get it!
It is 6am where I am. I'm watching those votes. 1 minute to go.

Rubbing his eyes he only now notices why the town square is so empty as a large sign is put up proclaiming the results to come later.

7 am here which is still "too-early-to-have-had-enough-coffee-to-deal-with-the-world o'clock". I admire your dedication.
Hopefully your sick toddler gets better. Properly prioritizing work and family life sometimes means disappointing people with unreasonable expectations.

?
I make it almost two hours.
The benefits of relative youth. My sleep patterns are still flip able at the drop of a hat. Good luck to everyone for getting where you wanted. I hope there isn't too much disappointment.
Its only midnight central time Morbis.
G!@#!$nit, is it another hour yet? Times are difficult...
Two hours? Well fiddles, clearly I can't do... Oh. Right. East Coast is 6 hours. East Coast.
Well don't I look like a silly dumpling?

Did the Emerald Spire move ??
What other information was there to be needed?
Joking - but I have to admit after writing the background what we try to achieve it felt liberating as the top choices did fall into place.
Hey, it just means we have two hours to change our number 10 selection to the number one selection like we discussed earlier.
<Magistry> Athansor wrote: 2 Hours to go... ...to get votes locked in, then another 10 to wait for results.

You have company ...
1:45 remaining...
And I'm going to bed. However, this is when I usually go to bed, so I'm not hurt for sleep like the rest of you.
G'night! I'll check things in the morning to see how they stand.
Results won't be in till 7pm CEST - 6 BST, so you have time to enjoy that dumpling status.
And to echo what some above have said (and say what I should have said first): I hope your child gets better soon, Lee; we all understand that family is way more important than this game, so take - as I'm sure you will - all the time you need.
The people who say the game hasn't begun yet kinda scare me. It sure feels begun to me.
Before KC posts:
Emerald spire has been relocated: 5 hex North and 6 north west. 8-)
Oh, it will be afternoon in UK before results are published, possibly after tea. GO to work and get a days work down.

Oh, I know about the results taking a while. I just want to make sure I see it if a random company suddenly gets 300 votes and zooms past everyone.
If you are out there, pls no tread on my dreams!
That 300 person team will post last hour of 10th week. 8-(

Mmmm dumpllllllliiiiiiings.
Almost as good as Poutine. Which happens to be the Sunday night special at the Golden Gravy Tavern in Elkhaven...
Cast your vote Here for the Uniquely Canadian Settlement: Elkhaven in the landrush!
Lam, we'll have to depend on nine weeks of rolling-bonus to help, then.
This should be a really interesting process as the weeks roll on. With well over 100 guilds/companies in the list, and only 30ish slots, deals will be made, numbers will change. Aside from the mandatory scheduled work every Sunday (from the guild/company leadership) and on Monday getting the list up (by GW), this should be a really cool evolution of settlement creation.
I have to wonder why they chose Monday mornings, instead of Saturday mornings for the results?
