It is my great pleasure to announce that Doug Miles has run his 500th table of Pathfinder Society this last weekend. That's well over 2000 hours of entertainment that he's provided to the PFS community.
For those that have had the pleasure to sit at Doug's tables over the years, you know that not only is he a dedicated volunteer (as the 500 tables show) but he is a great storyteller. I don't know of anyone that has walked away from a game at Doug's table that hasn't had a good time. He takes the time to carefully prep the scenarios he runs, hand drawing maps, digging into the background of the setting, and bringing NPCs to life. He can take brand new players and seasoned veterans and make both feel a sense of thrill and excitement in his games.
I'll be the first in this thread to thank Doug for the scenarios I'd have the privilege to play with him running.
My first ever con game Doug ran Midnight Mauler. I was so thrilled to get a chance to play a game run by a 5 star gm! At that time it was a big deal to me, and it was a great game. We had a party of 5, all casters. As a second level magus, I ended up being the "tank". Thankfully we had a good balance of other casters, and we succeeded at saving the Master of Swords.
My second game that Doug ran, he contacted me and asked if my home PFS group would like him to come up and run the new exclusive, Cyphermage Dilemma. I was ecstatic that he'd be willing to come up and run this special scenario for our small group. We treated him well, and had a great time fighting pirates and saving scholars.
It must be a trend, since the last game he ran for me was also the new exclusive, Day of the Demon. We got a group of Michigan venture-officers together, along with some dedicated volunteers from the region and played the exclusive before we had to run it for our respective regions. Running this slot 0 was a great blessing for me, since I very rarely get a chance to play a scenario before I run it. It was also a fun time and I got to play with other organizers and share stores that all of us could relate to.
So, I'd love for others to jump in and share their congratulations to Doug, and share a story or two about his tables. Let's see how big this thread can grow and how many lives Doug has touched by he generous offering of his time and talents!

Congratulations Doug. I still remember the one table I played of yours. It was at my very first convention, and it was right after the Midnight Mauler first came out as a GM exclusive. That scenario was fantastic, and the table was awesome. It was one of the reasons I decided to try and give back and start my own annual convention schedule.

Awww, thanks for the kind words, everyone. The thing that has kept me going in this campaign has been you guys—being part of a community. Without the friends that I have made in PFS I may not have continued GMing or even playing. I don’t want to name names for fear I’ll leave someone out, but there are a lot of you. It’s the personal connections that really matter. I’m still chasing that “perfect table” too, the one I hope to walk away from knowing I killed it like no one else I’ve seen. Numbers can mean anything. There are lots of blunders mixed into 500 sessions. There are lots of fond memories, too. Thank you for the recognition.

Mr. Miles,
Congratulations! And thank you for all of your hard work! I am sure your many hundreds of players also appreciate everything you have done.

Outstanding job Doug!
When I think of how many people you have met over all those tables it gets even more impressive. Think of how many of those players have grown into better players and GMs in their own right because of your GMing. And what of those people that kept playing PFS, or started playing because of your table presence alone? That's huge, man.
I imagine that if we included all the people your GMing has influenced and inspired, you'd have well over a 1000 tables to your name. That's a monumental accomplishment, Doug. I hope one of these days I get to sit at one of your games and be a better GM because of it.
Now then, how soon can we expect the next 500?
:D

Holy crap, Doug. I figured you'd have slowed down by now. Now that you've hit this mark, what's the next "Miles"tone in your GMing career?
You figured right, Mark. I did 400 sessions from 2008-2011. My life changed direction when I got married and my GMing pace slowed. It took me from 2012 until now to cover the last 100. As for the next milestone, I haven't pondered it. I probably should finish that Legacy of Fire campaign I began in 2010, LOL.

That's a pretty amazing feat.
500 Tables
You can keep GMing after you should be dead.
Pre-requisites: 5 stars, 500 tables of GMing, must have previously or currently been under the effects of Madness
Benefit: Once per day, you gain insane braggings rights, mad respectz from every Pathfinder within long range (400ft + 40ft/level).
Normal: You can't help but gasp in awe when someone with this feat walks into the room.

Well done, Doug!
Enjoy and reflect on 500 tables. Unfortunately, I couldn't do the convention scene at all due to location and jobs but I offer my warmest congratulations on achieving 500 tables.
I celebrated my own special anniversary of sorts on Feb 25 of this year - my 5000th game session of D&D/Pathfinder done over 40 years (there is a thread about it somewhere on the forums).
So as one 500 something to another 500 something - Congrats on setting a milestone that very few will attain. And no doubt, a long list of memories associated with those 500 games.
