Yes.

Will there be rules for being exposed to radioactive wastes and gaining superpowers? Or, y'know... dying?

I'm envisioning a high-tech version of Rasputin's Tesla device empowering the BBEG here. At least some kind of reference to the HD powering the villain(s).

That, or a charitable organization devoted to the resurrection of Aroden. :)

Aww man, James beat me to all the answers. (At least the few answers I had. He rightly has more.) :)

Can you fight the divinity drive or is it an artefact?

The divinity drive might not even be a thing. It might just be a title! :D

Teehee. :-D

Can we please, Please get some Giant Robots? They don't have to be huge. 12-20' is fine.

Yes, I know. But I do so love Fantasy Magitek.
(Also guys, look up the following words: [Cybuster(also Super Robot Wars/Lord of Elemental), Voltron, Escaflowne])

There will be a new robot in each volume of the Adventure Path, so the chances of one of them being Large is not out of the question. (I wouldn't rule out Huge-sized either, for that matter.) However, if I get my say in things they won't look like anime robots. They will more likely than not look like the ones we've already illustrated in the Inner Sea Bestiary.

Divinity Drive makes me think of the Numerian shipwreck itself. Who know's what was powering that thing?

If that's the kind of juice that was making it move, one really has to wonder just who and what was on that ship. And where they came from. And where they were going. And why.

All before their journey was cut short by slamming into Golarion...

Can't help but imagine a demigod-level or fullblown deific Karan S'jet having been the pilot and core of that ship. Or some other divine spin on the "spaceship-symbiont" trope(which already exist in the Pathfinderverse with the Vercites and the Ascetics of Nar!)

I would give my left arm to see a small mech (ala Construct Armor) or powered armor (ala everything with powered armor in it ever) in this.

Nope. Iron Gods does not assume Wrath of the Righteous has already occurred, nor does it assume that it has occurred. As with pretty much all of our APs, it's self-contained and can be played in any order with the other APs (with the exception of Shattered Star).

Ok, it was a thought.

I do have a tangental question then? What about Irrisen? I mean it is hard-wired that something happened this year, so will we just not see any more stuff on internal Irrisen politics down the road?

GURPS spaceships contained an option to build magic powered magitech ships. One of the exemplary ships is made out of an upper body of a dead deity. Just saying.

I never had chance to play it... My computer at that time was unable to run it.

It's hard enough trying to keep the PCs from killing everything, but a Johnny Cab is just asking to be destroyed. Also, you can't fit a mok in one. :)

Re: Powered armor... we'll see!

I know there are a lot of people not fond of them, including Mr. Jacobs, but if ever there was an AP calling out for an NPC summoner in syntheist "power armor," this is it.

Well, that didn't turn out so good in the Wh40K universe.

The Marvel universe has several instances of faith-powered tech, although less tech-become-god (literal deus ex machinas). Adam Warlocks various series have dealt with that notion, with an entire church / empire using ships powered by the faith of the followers carried on them. (To a much smaller extent, the current Young Avengers run has the team riding around on a Kree ship with 'Kirby engines' fueled by belief.)

It could go in a Matrix-y direction, with the becoming AI divinity needing hundreds or thousands of captive sentients kept in a state of prayer (locked into a kneeling position with physical restraints, their brains chemically or electrically locked into a 'worshipful' state that allows the AI to tap into their minds to empower / bootstrap itself to apotheosis). The more of these 'worshippers' are freed (or just killed...), the less unwinnable the final fight becomes.

Or not. That sort of encounter could be saved for when some band of heroes needs to defeat an insane Formian Hive-Queen, whose sorcerous / psychic power is dependent upon the size of her hive, and will diminish the more rank and file Formians are killed before the final encounter.

The Exchange

Do we know which people will be involved in writing this AP? Like, who will write each individual adventure?

Also, what is the anticipated level range?

It is not much of argument as nothing turns out good in the Wh40K universe...

Not yet. The outline is still being written. I know James has a list of potential authors. Level range is also unknown at this time.

Y'know, that Annihilator sure has been abducting a lot of people over the years for purposes unknown... Possibly replacing the original supplicants on the ship?

IIRC, the PCs will have a chance to influence how some of these gods develop. Maybe this is one of the ways that can happen.

hangs head in shame

I'm actually wondering if a lot was announced in those lines. You'd think we'd be hearing more from those that heard the news. At the AP Q&A they did mention a tie-in book that would support all that technology though, IIRC. :)

Remember that in Golarion cosmology worship does not grant divinity. Or so we were told before...

Maybe they look for something else.

Nope.

The outline isn't even written yet. I have only a relatively vauge plot outline in my head now—enough to know what needs to be written for the outline and what to name the 6 parts, but even once it's written, the outline remains top secret.

The plot spoiler/synopsis is close to a year away from being revealed.

I have spoken with several possible authors, but have not assigned them yet. And won't be assigning the authors for about 2-3 weeks. After that, I probably won't announce the author list until the writing is at least well under way.

The anticipated level range is probably going to be pretty close to standard. Start at 1st level, end at about 16th level or MAYBE 17th level. Pretty close to Reign of Winter or Skull & Shackles or Mummy's Mask.

Every Paizo freelancer wants a piece of this one...and Jacobs already knows of my interest. It wasn't hard to track him down since we were both standing at the Paizo booth for the Best Four Days in Gaming.

I'm not sure. I'm not a Paizo Freelancer, but I'd only be interested if part of it included steam-powered lighter-than-air airships. ;)

No, you're looking for the Alkenstar AP which we have no idea if there will ever be one published.

Pity, that.

I want Iron Gods to start with the PC's in a post-stasis funk being ejected from a hatch in the side of the fallen star hulk by security robots - they are ET's and need to find out what the f*^k is going on. Extra points if a bulette is ejected with them. :)
