You are conflating the issue. We fled the first fight to save a life, not because we couldn't destroy all of the monsters. We just couldn't have done it without that one person dying. At no point have our characters experienced a situation where we believed the fight to be too much for us to prevail.
Even with the introduction of two new types of adversaries, we decimated our enemies in two rounds. To be fair, perhaps our GM should not reveal the challenge rating of our fights in advance.

I do nbot have the time to make the campaing post right now but two things
1) I missed it but Castiend provoked an AoO when he jumped (cause the ceusto have reach). But, assuming the target do not have reach, does the falling movement provokes?
2)just to have in mind . Dimensional hop is a SLA so it provokes AoO.

Dimensional Hop (Sp): At 8th level, you can teleport up to 10 feet per cleric level per day as a move action. This teleportation must be used in 5-foot increments and such movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. You must have line of sight to your destination to use this ability. You can bring other willing creatures with you, but you must expend an equal amount of distance for each creature brought.

Castien was using Lunge, so he was striking from 10' away. If the creature has 10' reach, I don't think he was ever in it's reach. If he was inside it's reach, make your AoO and add +8 to my AC as Castien was spell dancing.

I'd say yes, by RAW, whenever you leave a threatened square you provoke an AoO unless you made a 5ft-step.
If during his fall he leaves the threatened square, he does provoke an AoO. According to RAW, at least.
Following rule of cool? I'd allow it. Jumping to attack a flying enemy is too cool to be punished.

Lessee. I've got most of the "Find and get to s%$&" skills covered (Perception, Survival, Acrobatics, Fly, Swim, etc.), Auron and Castien have some knowledges, but you could probably win at that. It's Planes, Arcana, and Religion mostly between them I think. And Kobal Intimidates people really good.
So you're good with anything you feel like doing, though we could use some shoring up in the Knowledge department.
