GM (re-)Recruitment: Azlant-based Homebrew

Recruitment

A group of us have recently had the unfortunate experience of being abandoned by our PbP GM rather early in our game. Thus we're left with a group of characters* ready to brave an adventure, but no adventure to brave.

The original recruitment thread is here. Discussion and Gameplay threads are attached there, as well.

The story is, as mentioned, rather young at this point, so a new GM would have quite a bit of leeway as to the specifics. Each player has received at least one private message with some details about his character, which will be passed along to the new GM in short order. We'd like to keep the basic premise/setting the same.

I don't expect we'll receive many replies, but am ever hopeful, so to let us know a bit about yourself, please answer the following:

  • How often would you expect to post? How often would you expect players to post?
  • Have you run a PbP before? How about a homebrew campaign?
  • What house rules do you use?

Since a post similar to this one was what prompted the original campaign, I'm hopeful that we can find a great GM who will integrate well with our group. If you have any questions, please post them and we'll do our best to respond quickly.

*Ryko has had to leave due to RL obligations, but the rest are active on the boards and still available.

This is intruiging. May I look over the previous information, and get back to you with my impression and a suggestion of what I might be able to offer?

Certainly; I look forward to hearing from you.

Wanders around the thread, checking over the other folks who come by. "Howdy, tell us a story."

This does sound very interesting. I wish there were more hours in the day as I'm just stretched a bit thin to pick up another GM role. And yet, here I am patrolling the Recruitment boards. :)

I am quite eager to play this game. Please new GM, will you come along!

That's fair. If you happen to suddenly find a way of de-stretching, keep us in mind. :)

*Sits patiently for someone to come along and help some adventurers find some adventure!*

I may not be the DM you are looking for, but I am willing to pick up this game. Briefly, this is what I understand. There are 4 active players. The characters are, Surana, Ryko, Kyan, and Krevek.

Something was found, somewhere (“Under”?) in the city of Absalom. The party is forming to investigate what was found.

Do I have at least that much correct?

I am currently running another PBP, homebrew, adventure in the forums here, it is found here

Palace of the Vampire Queen

The players of this game are often, I imagine, frustrated with me because I am not a frequent poster, but I am committed to getting better and keeping that game alive.

I can tell you that I will try to post every day. I already have some 'way out there' sort of ideas to tie this game, and the world of Golarion, to the world of Riom, the world where my other adventure is taking place.

I created Riom about twelve years ago, and it is my second homebrew campaign setting. Anthandra (Hamth, see “The Accidental Cleric”, and “The Practical Fighter”, at Amazon.com) is my first campaign world and was created 37 years ago. I have been a Dungeon Master since 1976.

Tell me what you think, and give me some idea of your expectations. If you are all in agreement, I’ll pick up this game.

Ryko will be unable to join us, which leaves three active players.

IMO, as this game is really just getting started, I am up for wherever a GM wishes to take it.

That being said, ideally I look for multiple posts per week, ideally at least three to four. Sometimes more if time allows, but understandably not everyone is able to do more than that.

Kyan's going to post his preferences shortly.

I'm willing to go with whatever. As Krevek said, the game hadn't really gotten going, so we don't truly know what the former GM was going to do.

In that case, Terquem, we'd like to offer you an invitation to GM for us.

Please check in over here, and we'll begin your formal initiation--I mean, your formal introduction. ;)

After that, you can email the webmaster and get the campaign transitioned over to you (and probably renamed)...

In the meantime, we'll forward the original PMs we received from Ghastlee, which you can use or discard at your pleasure. I'll PM Ryko and Jimmy and ask them to forward theirs along as well, in case you want to use them for new players.

Am I missing anything?

Okay, here we go. I'll get moving on this today. I hope I can present something interesting to all of you.

A request to be made the keeper of this campaign has been sent.

Now I have a request of the players. Would you, please, visit the original recruitment thread of the game and post as the character you are playing, with information in your post as to who you might also appear as in postings (any alias, or member identities you think I should know) and a brief description of your character including what role you think you are fulfilling according to the original DM’s guidelines.

It is my intention to take these themes and try to make them relevant to the new campaign as much as I can.

Right now I am a bit confused as to who is still an active character.
Thank you
