Victorieux Éclairage |

"I'll recommend Victorieux Éclairage for your little adventure. She's deadly with her halberd and posesses a keen wit. Her loyality is unquestionable."
Hopefully my submission is not too late to the party. :)
Personality:
Background:
It was this proclivity that caught the eye of her Headmistress, Rodelia Smeech. Smeech promptly alerted Durotas Horne of the Westcrown city guard of a potential soldier in the making. Though, initially not interested in taking in the girl because of her gender, he knew a promising candidate when he saw one. He honed both her wits and body into a ordered, capable woman-at-arms. Though she initially lacked a "killing spirit", she was a impeccable soldier and operated strictly by-the-book. Being the daughter of a Durotas and her letter-perfect record, she was appointed to Special Dottari guarding a vaneo of a lesser known noble family. Though the job was easy and the coin was comfortable, Victorieux quickly grew bored with the day to day guarding of fat, poxy nobles.
It was a chance encounter with a group of adventurers intent on burglarising the house she swore to protect that changed her life. Not able to stop the knaves completely, she managed to confound and hamper their escape long enough for the Hellknights to intercede and bring the thieves to Chelish justice.
The thrill of her triumph invigorated her so much, that she made her mind up to leave the city and her "father" in the dead of night and seek danger, excitement and battle on the open road. However, Horne was no fool. He saw the look of a deserter many times before and was prepared for Victorieux when she attempted to flee. Though outnumbered she thrawted her former comrades in arms and incapcitated Horne long enough to escape the city through the sewers with the help of a kind halfling. She fled Cheliax on a vessel headed to the Varisian city of Magnimar, and from there...the world.

Crunch is all done! If there's anything in the profile that seems off, let me know. Really looking forward to this if I get in :)
Long-term plan for character progression can be found here. I'm planning on re-flavoring the "eldritch heritage (orc)" to be "eldritch heritage (rune giant)" since getting bigger, smashing things and heck even one of the abilities is called "the power of giants!" It feels right for a runelord-themed campaign!

I decided to write this background in a different manner than I usually do. Since I didn't manage to find when the AP happens, I'll mark the dates as -(Time before joining the Pathfinder society).
Exprets from a diary.
-6 years, 7 months, 3 days.
Ive been told i need too pratice writing more. so i start writing this dairy. Bartalotti says my spelling and grammar is lacing. i dont see how but hes the teacher, not me.
-5 years, 6 months, 19 days.
Well, Mr. Bartalotti says I have improved a lot. And frankly, I enjoy a lot writing here. It just feels good writing what you feel. Like for example, that you feeling good. Like for example, now.
-5 years, 3 months, 23 days.
I wish my teeth would stop growing. I've been told that they looked normal when I was small but then they just kept growing. Now, they don't look human anymore. More like a monster's maw. I bit my tongue today, and so much blood came out that mother had to call that cleric of Sarenrae who lives nearby. Though in a way, they are nice. I can eat a whole chicken drumstick, not just the meat. The crunchy noises that bones make when they break are funny.
-5 years, 2 months, 7 days.
I'm getting sick of this. My friends, all of them, have started calling me names. They have said things about my teeth, my odd-looking eyes, my scaly feet... I don't have told them that my feet and legs have scales, why do they know it? I will not write the things that they have said here, I will get a terrible spanking if mother finds out I have written such words, even if it is not me who said them.
-5 years, 2 months, 2 days.
I have no friends. Not anymore. Not after the things they said.
-5 years, 1 month, 5 days.
I saw a group of the city's guards today. That is nothing special, but the sergeant's sword glowed slightly, unlike the weapons of the rest of the guard. I asked him about it, and he said it was magical. So I guess I can see magic. If I squint my eyes really tight.
-4 years, 10 months, 17 days.
I hate my grandfather. I really do. But that old man hated me first. He has always been nice to my siblings, but me... He has never given me one kind word. And when he looks at me, the disdain in his eyes is sickening. He has never called me a freak, but I know that that is what he thinks about me. That I am a freak. That's what he thinks. I hate him so much. Some day I'm going to show him...
-4 years, 7 months, 9 days
I broke a chair today. Yesterday, I broke three fine wine glasses. A few days ago, I managed to bend an exotic curved sword from the far south, a part of father's collection, completely out of form. I don't know why I break things. It's not like I do it on purpose, but I kind of like it... Like there is a diminutive voice in the back of my head, telling me to do things I should not do. But wether there is a voice or not does not matter, I'm getting punished anyway.
-4 years, 5 months, 3 days
I just discovered I can do magic. It's awesome! I can't do anything big like wizards or clerics, but if I focus really hard, I can move stuff without touching it. It's so much fun! Though my head starts aching after a while. Guess I'll just have to train more so I can do it without tiring myself.
-4 years, 4 months, 16 days.
Since I have no reason to go outside unless I want to get cruelly insulted, I have been in the library. In fact, I have been there so much that I have actually forgotten to write here. I do not usually read much, as I'm quite slow at it and often get distracted, but a few days ago I found a book so intresting that I could not let it go. It has a long and complex name, (I think it had "Treatise" and "Outsiders" in it.) and it details the creatures that live outside of our plane, angels, devils and that stuff.
But what really caught me was the section detaling demons. As I made my way through it, I noticed more and more similarities between the fiends and the more uncommon features of my body. Still, it felt odd. Demons were supposed to be big, scary, and evil, and I am not any of those.
The next day I continued from where I had left. After the sections about the outsiders, the book started detailing how they interact with the races of our plane. It was mostly pretty dull, (Why should I care that devils are deeply ingrained into Chelish politics?) but one part caught my interest: Tieflings. Apparently fiends sometimes... Get a little too close with humans, and thus their blood enters the human lines. (Kind of like how children usually look like their parents.) This somehow causes that some children in the later generations look a little more like demons that usually. Like me, for example.
-4 years, 3 months, 23 days.
Today I decided to tell my former friends that I am part demon. Maybe they will stop being cruel to me when they understand better why I am different?
-4 years, 3 months, 22 days.
It didn't work at all. No, it broke everything. It just made them insult me even worse, until I just could not take it anymore and hit the one standing closest to me. Or I thought I did. In my anger, somehow, vicious claws had manifested in my hands, and I drove them to the poor boys face, cutting deep. He started bleeding seriously, and I had to carry him to the temple. They managed to heal him, thankfully, but he was left with a quite nasty-looking scar. Now, I am in my room, and fordibben to leave.
-4 years, 3 months, 20 days.
I'm still grounded in my room. Grandfather has come to visit, and is now yelling downstairs. I can hear him quite clearly from here. He is saying now all those things that I always knew he tought about me. Father is yelling back. Mother is crying.
-4 years, 3 months, 19 days.
He finally left, before saying that if I ever cause more problems, father will have to choose between disowning me or being disowned himself. Still grounded.
-4 years, 3 months, 15 days.
I am finally allowed to exit my room, but father says that I can't leave the house without supervision anymore. I guess he's afraid of grandfather's threats. Mother has finally stopped crying.
-3 years, 11 months, 4 days.
Yet another uneventful day of keeping out of trouble and obeying rules. Why all these rules? Why can't I just do what I want to? It's not like I'm hurting anyone.
-3 years, 9 months, 8 days.
Since I have little else to do, I'm focusing in learning more about magic. I don't use books like wizards do, so I guess I'll have just to learn by trial and error.
-7 months, 13 days.
I've done it! It took years, but I have somehow learned how to summon all kinds of animals here from the other planes. They look different depending from where they come, but act pretty much the same. Though the ones from the lower ones stay a little longer. Maybe it's because my non-human blood comes from there too?
-6 months exactly.
A paladin visited us today! I had always thought paladins are a little stuck-up, but this one was very nice. She seemed completely unfazed by my appearance, and I really enjoyed talking with her. Next time she passes by, I'm going to show her one of my animals!
-2 weeks.
The paladin came back today and I summoned an animal for her. I really should not had. As soon as she saw the large dog with coal-black fur and glowing eyes, she draw her sword, cut the poor dog in half, then knocked me unconcious with the hilt of her sword. I woke up at the nearby temple, where I was questioned for what seemed like hours. They asked if I was a member of any cults, if I had sacrified living creatures for dark gods, and all kinds of absurd questions like that. It had been just a dog!
After a while, they let me go, and apologized for overreacting, but warned me to keep from messing with things from the lower planes.
...I'm sure that someone noticed when I was carried to the temple, unconcious. Soon the rumor mill will be running again. I have decided to slip out in the night, so I do not bring more trouble to those close to me.
-1 week.
I might be alone, without contacts or anyone to support me, but for the first time in years I am able to do what I want, go where I want, when I want. Though, while it is a big place, Mangimar is still a little small for my tastes, and I don't feel so good about being in the relative proximity of my cursed grandfather.
I met a cousin of mine accidentally. He was surprisingly sympathetic, and confirmed my suspicions that I had already been disowned and disinherited. I told him that I wanted to leave the town, and he suggested that I should join at the local Pathfinder chapter. It certainly sounds intriguing...
Today.
I joined the Society today. Foreign lands, forgotten cities, untold treasures, here I come! New recruits usually go through a training period, but when I asked really nicely and mentioned my surname that requirement was waived. I don't need any training really. I have sharp jaws, sharp claws and magic at my side.
It seems that the society attracts people like me, people who differ from the norm. I haven't hear one bad word by me appearance yet. Still, I wish that I will get sent for a mission soon. I already feel like at home here, and I want to make myself useful for the society.
If something does not maker sense in this background, it's because:
a. It is supposed to be the diary of someone with below-average Int and Wis.
b. I have written it at night, when there are less distractions but also more sleepyness.
Carmina looks like a perfectly normal young woman, of average height and with long dark hair, apart from her reddish eyes that glow faintly in the dark, scaly legs and razor-sharp teeth fit for a dire wolf. Still, most people would not describe her as unpleasant-looking.

Gnomey Wizbot |

I present Gnomey, the gnome raised by goblins.
Couple things.
1. What should I do for gold? It says average, and that works for first level, but what about second level?
2. Based upon him being raised by goblins I took the feat Fire Hand, which lets him use a torch without proficiency penalties. This is normally a goblin only feat, but I've worked it strongly into his character, and I hope you'll let me take it (Not like 1d2 damage is much).

![]() |

@Carmina: ...*speechless*...
Wow, you have made quite an impression on me and made my already difficult job nigh-impossible. Sooo many awesome characters to choose from! Your character looks fine btw, I just had a question about the Noble's outfit. Were you trying to pass yourself off as noble? Also you need to spend the rest of your gold (1,000gp total).
@Gnomey: This is an intriguing concept.
1. Just use the standard GP for 2nd level, 1,000gp
2. One note here...you need to take the Adopted trait for this to work. You may then also take the feat Fire Hand, but you will need to drop one of your other traits.
@all: Guess I should include the time recruitment closes huh? OK Recruitment closes at 6:00 PM PST (Paizo Standard Time). That is all.

Carmina Scarnetti |

Updated the Inventory. I was not sure wether you meant with "Average gold" Average starting gold or WBL. In the end I decided I like adding stuff more than removing stuff. :)
The noble outfit is free from the campaign trait. I guess it's just a particularly fancy and expensive one, not necessarily "noble".

Carmina Scarnetti |

I can't edit the profile for some reason, when I press "submit" It redirects me back to the main page. :/
So I'm putting the updated inventory here for now, and trying editing the profile again later. And yeah, you are right about having a spare outfit. It would be a shame to see a such finely tailored piece of art ruined. Not to mention that without expensivet jewelry those stuck-up nobles will look down on you anyway.

@Ramneth, no that is not required unless you are selected.
@Carmina: Gotcha on the inventory. Ever since Paizo has updated their website recently, things have been kinda wonky. Have you tried logging out, clearing your IE cache, and logging in again? If that does not work, then I would post this issue in THIS thread.
@ALL: T minus 4 hours, 23 minutes to recruitment close.
