Mine so far are the summoner, alchemist, and paladin.
The summoner is cool because of the ability to play multiple characters and the great support, damage output, and versatility it offers.
The alchemist is somewhat of a skill monkey with great damage and personal buffs and on top of that they're flavorful. I like the paladin because of survivability, damage, the ability to be the face, and his flavor. Whenever I play a paladin I replicate images in my head of space marines that purge heresy and conquer evil.

Inquisitor
Fighter
Magus
I like melee combat but there's no denying the fun a few spells and supernatural abilities grant. I don't like worrying about squishiness and don't like sorting through a huge spell list to fill a lot of spells spells per day. Inquisitor spells are manageable, the versatility is in the domain access, with enough other class features to drive home that this is a martial character.
The fighter I like because of the versatility, although I prefer archetypes that grant it a few bonus skill points at the expense of a bit of combat effectiveness.
Magus I like for a lot of the reasons I like the inquisitor, but with the emphasis on combat and magic swapped. So while I prefer that the inquisitor can use a divine spell list to bolster his combat prowess, I like that the magus can dictate the order of battle with magic, and then use melee to drive home the point.

The Bard: A great class that let's you win a fight while letting your allies take the credit(if that's what you want), hinder enemies with music, and be a library of knowledge!
The Sorcerer: Magic is in your blood -> Your blood can shape reality. I'm surprised Alchemists aren't trying to use Sorcerer blood in their infusions... or maybe they already are!
The Druid: I am at one with Nature, able to calm storms and call animals to my side at a moments notice. I can take the form of the smallet sparrow or become a towering inferno of living flame! Plus, you can turn into a bat and wield a three-foot long fire sword!

Rogue - I love the flexibility of this class. You can group Skills and Feats together to be anything you want to be.
Cleric - I like the inherent variety in spell selection for this class, and the fact that I can still contribute to combat without the use of spells.
Fighter - Sometimes I just want to play a straightforward PC who lives for the fight - especially if I just finished a campaign playing a character that required a lot of tactics to use effectively. It's very satisfying to wade into combat and just turn the dice loose.
Big Stupid Fighter |
Fighter, it does what it says on the tin. So many choices with feats and styles no two are very similar. Huge, consistant damage, and an anchor for the team to hinge around.
Wizard. I like to play mine as weathered generals controlling the combat with guile, rather than bookish fops. Huge power, and really rewards creativity and lateral thinking.
Next is a tie between Druid and Bard, depending on the team. Druid, I am playing one right now, and at level 9 I feel like Emperor of the Universe. Very very very strong, out fight fighters, summon monsters everywhere, crowd control, great buffs and a strong companion. Alot of tactics involved, very fun. Bard, slots well into any party out there. Best force multiplier in the game, by far. Great flavour, spells and abilities and a defined niche. Very well designed class.

Wizard: Because I'm an accountant at heart, and these guys are just like filing a tax return. A tax return of UNLIMITED COSMIC POWER!!
Wizard: See above. Also I like changing the rules to suit my needs. ;-)
Druids: Full caster, shape shifting for spying/battle/utility, healers who can also PWN face! yes please!
Summoner: multiple characters in the same class plus I like the idea of an animal companion you can build yourself.
CorvusRed |
Bard - I love skill-heavy classes, and the opporunity to be gleefuly obnoxious and improvise songs on the spot adds so much opporunity for humor.
Monk - specifically martial artist - i love the idea of someone holding their own in this world with just their fists.
Ranger - The self-sufficient hunter. animal companions are great, and dropping someone with an arrow before they ever know you're there is very appealing.
Truffleduffle |
I. Cleric: Perhaps chronic DMing has conditioned me, but affected zealotry has warmed up to me. Mechanically speaking, I tend to enjoy the cleric's sustainability aspect quite a bit.
II. Wizard: Manipulating any number of esoterica for variable benefit just appeals to my basic nature. Arcane spells are an incredibly rich dimension to the game.
III. Rogue/Bard: Don't know what to play? Capitalise on the Rogue/Bard's ambiguity to be many things without being anything in particular.

The principal is my spellbook, the interest is my power, and my interest is compounded daily. It's even insured by FICA up to 250,000 gp.

Yes, I like anime, bite me.
What I really want is a Mecha Commander Cavalier archetype ^-^
But apart from that, Gunslingah and Alchemist are my fave Paizo inventions so far.

In a Steampunk campaign with mechs, it could be done. Would you paint the mech with your heraldry instead of using banners (which I have to admit would be cool)?

Ranger: Until you've had a full hasted combat with a high level ranger and the following other buffs:
instant enemy up
stacked FE bonus one to type of monster
bane bow for that monster
potion of enlarge person
firing large arrows from a spare quiver
with gravity bow going
You haven't lived. You're pumping out huge *HUGE* bonuses to hit and damage, even a smiting paladin archer doesn't keep up with that damage.
I assure you, even smilin' bob doesn't match that grin on my face.

Magus - This supplanted Sorceror as my favorite when it was released. It is so full of awesome I dont even know how to describe it. But it is everything I ever wanted in a character class, and the one I am playing now is turning into one of my all time favorite characters, so its a win for me.
Sorceror - Old reliable. I like spells. I like lots of spells. I dont like playing the crotchety old man locked in the tower. The flavor and style of the sorceror has always appealed to me and pathfinder has just made them that much more awesome.
Super Genius Games Dragon Rider - Yea I know it doenst fit in most game worlds. Yea i know its kind of rediculous in theme (though not in power if you actually examine the class). But damnit who here HASNT wanted to ride a dragon into battle? Seriously who? Like the second thing everyone asked when they originally saw the summoner play test was: Can I ride it? How do I make it a dragon? SGG gives us a way to do it at level 1 AND keeps it relatively balanced with some cleaver rule tweaks.

Oracle: Life Mystery - I like playing the healer, and this allows me to do so while doing other things too.
Bard - I like playing a buffer and support character, and the bard has awesome buffing abilities
Sorcerer: Fey and Dragon - I like mages, but the book keeping of Wizards is a turn off to the sorcerer's simplicity

About a year ago I started a campaign and played a Barbarian for just about the first time. He's so much fun! I have a newfound affection for them.
Then I got bored with not being able to contribute to much of anything outside combat (we've left the city we're in about three times), so I multi'd him into Oracle. It's like a whole new character. Making up your own Curse and Mystery based on in-game RP events == win (lately I've taken a Rage Prophet level).
Finally, I'm surprised there's been no love for the Cavalier. I haven't gotten to play one yet, but I really dig that they're a non-magical Paladin. Lately I'm in the mood for what TV Tropes calls the Badass Normal:

Honorable Mention: I sorta dig the gunslinger, though I haven't had a chance to play one yet.

#1: Wizard - They were my favorite before and are still my favorite now. I love being able to prepare for any occassion!
#2: Magus - Finally, a spellsword done right. I absolutely love spell combat, I just wish they had some more variety in their spell options.
#3: Rogue - I've always loved rogues, and the addition of rogue talents only makes them better in Pathfinder. Still, I feel they are a bit behind the power curve vs. most classes, but I still love the feel of the class anyway.

1. Witch - Love the flavor of it, the full casting with a unique spell list, and the oh-so-fun hexes!
2. Oracle - Another full casting class with a lot of flavor. Their mysteries add some really powerful abilities as well.
3. Not sure, probably a toss-up between Sorceror, Rogue, and Cavalier.
Every class is a lot of fun though, and I like mixing it up and trying them all (and making weird and fun combinations).

It is difficult to say since I haven't played all the classes I would like to play yet. Of those I have played, I like the following the best:
Alchemist - I love the mix of options this class can focus on and the flavor of the class is just awesome.
Magus - I have always loved opportunties to mix martial and magical combat together and this class has the best options for doing that.
Witch - I love coming up with crafty debuffs to plague my enemies with and this class just drips with flavor, too. Also, I was never quite satisfied with wizard and this class seems to give me what I felt I was missing while remaining a full arcane caster.
I still haven't played the Inquisitor, Summoner, Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai, Spellslinger Wizard, or any of the Monk archetypes and in the past I have always loved the monk and wizard. I am also a fool for a concept, no matter the class. A couple of these could modify my favorites once I get to play them at the table. But, at heart, I play as an arcane casing-style player more than any other style, so the alchemist, magus, and witch might just stay as my favorites.
zagnabbit |
#1 Monks: I like a challenge. Tactically this is the most varied class to me, preferred for games where I know we will be on a battlemap all night. Archetypes have really lit these guys up even though I've only used 3 of them.
#2 Alchemist: I've wanted to employ poison for years. This one fits my long standing desire to have a class that emulates that pulp era antihero or gentleman adventurer or the mad scientist. He's a nastier version of the Bard.
#3 Fighter types: I'm a multi-classer at heart but a straight up Fighter is always fun to play. In the right game Paladins still have my attention after 20 years.

Fatespinner wrote:Don't they have a thing where they can add spells from the wizard list?#2: Magus - Finally, a spellsword done right. I absolutely love spell combat, I just wish they had some more variety in their spell options.
Yes, but it costs a valuable arcana slot for one spell. (Two if you bump down a level.) Generally not worth it for most things. The magus is very good at what he does (kill stuff) but for versatility, you just can't match a wizard.
Dark_Mistress |
Rogue - I like skill monkey's and sneaking about. It was my first love of a class and still one of my fav to play.
Witch - Just love the fluff and flavor of this class.
Wizard/Sorcerer - yes I know thats two classes but I rate them about the same for different reasons. I like the arcane spells. I like how the Sorc is more social but the Wiz gets more skills.
