Hey guys, I've been remiss in posting lately (May has been very hectic with work and studies starting a new relationship). Also I must admit that I awarded priority to my other games that are moving a bit faster.
I still like this game though and have no intention of dropping it, but the irregular posting is a bit difficult to handle when we get into a major battle. So what I propose is a reduced post rate. I can promise to update three times a week (Mon, Wen, Fri). That's about the rate we have been going lately and it would level the playing field for all of us. What say you?
Also you more or less cleared the level, so you'll have to decide whether you want to press on or go back to camp to rest and recuperate and possibly level up before you go further down. Either is fine with me. See you in a week.

The fight is about to end, and I think we need a break from Rappan Athuk (I know I do). My suggestion is that the next adventure will be how to raise Gregori (which I guess you'll want to do but can hardly afford). Mark/Gregori will make a character for that and I'll credit Gregori with any xp s/he earns.
Is everybody still on board? Sorry about being a bit remiss lately. Will try to get better.

Yeah, it didn't really work, did it. Let's hope the next adventure is a bit more fun. I do own some more Necromancer Games stuff that I hope will work a little better.
I have Slumbering Tsar too, but I can't really see it working, so I'll leave that alone for now.
Right now I'm sending you on a side quest from Raise the Dead and then I think I'll go for Aberrations.

Ka'kara Furyheart |

I am good with whatever we decide to do next. It seems we start all sorts of adventures but cannot seem to finish any of them (I'm ok with this as Ka'kara is quite chaotic and goes wherever the wind blows). I'm not sure whether this is because of anyone in particulars short attention span or because Necromancer games just doesn't put a lot of depth in their adventures. The dungeon crawl with no real ecology supporting it inside or out is really reminiscent of very old school first edition stuff. Simple yes but not necessarily gripping in nature. I, however, have always thought of this as my "hack-n-slash" game :) All the above are just observations and not complaints.
P.S. LOL, Roylenna and I ended up a mere 62 xp from 7th level ;p Need to go find a dire rat or two to kill.

Roylenna Brenoien |

For the record, you did finish the Grey Citadel. And Roylenna and Ka'kara can borrow the needed xp so go ahead and level up. You deserved it. :)
Yay!
Spending hero points for a second hp roll
Hit Points: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Hit Points: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

That works, for me its a Mystery spell so not much I can change about it. Carpet bombing with Fireball can be good, also allows to cover a pretty goood area. Besides, making 2 saves for half damage, even on a good day that can kill you.
I decided that with all of our spontaneous casters, it would be better to diversify. I took Flaming Sphere at 2nd and Dispel Magic at 3rd. And Elemental Spell (Acid) will add to my diversification options because I can change that Flaming Sphere or Scorching Ray to a caustic version instead.

I like the idea of a spell that lasts several rounds and can be redirected over its lifetime. And the update from 2d6 to 3d6 is just gravy. It's not a 7d6 fireball, but it's potentially 21d6 if the fight lasts that long. I just love it.
Besides, I'm guessing you will have fire damage covered - so I wanted to cover other bases. Did you consider the "Burning Spell" revelation or whatever it's called? I like the idea - continuing damage, just because it's a fire spell? You bet!

Roylenna Brenoien |

You could just pipe up - "I would aid you in your mission. After seeing what these monsters did to these poor people, I would like to bring some cleansing flame to them." Or something appropriate for Lasair's personality.
You are right, though - Roylenna has not noticed that you have joined us yet...

Ka'kara Furyheart |

Sorry, I am treating Ka'kara as a bit preoccupied at the moment and it seems as if you were a traveler not wanting to become involved. She also doesn't want to expose anyone else to her lethal presence (in her mind). Perhaps approaching or having the Father introduce you. Of course, I am also sure that Tika's curiosity will get the better of her once her player returns.
