Background:
Lyria was born to a minor noble family, which one of their ancestors was a famous Paladin more than a hundred years ago. Each generation, one of the family's children was to be dedicated to the gods either as a cleric or as a paladin, and given to a distant monastery to be raised. Lyria was chosen to be that child. Ever since she was a little girl, she was trained to serve as a cleric. Her childhood and youth were very monotonous, while she had to complete exercise after exercise, honing body and soul over and over again to be an instrument of the gods, a process which was terribly boring for her.
Lyria never liked her way of life and tried to run away from the monastery she lived in several times, but the nuns caught her every time. Three years ago, while she was meditating in one of the rooms of her monastery, the monastery itself was raided by an nearby outlaw. Instead of trying to fight or help her friends, Lyria simply ran away as fast as she could, and finally found herself free.
For the next three years Lyria has wandered around, not really sure what she was looking for. Between selling her healing services at small villages and grouping for adventures, she doesn't have much time to try and settle down or to think about any lofty ideals. Her life is gray and complicated enough as is.
