FYI Davor (said this on MSN but I think you didn't receive it) using Intimidate to Demoralise is a standard action that affects one foe. Using it as a free action t demoralise multiple opponents is essentially this feat (and even then only on dropping a foe)- Link

Init +2 | Perc +4 | AC 15 / T 12 / FF 12 | HP 8/8 | Saves F +2/R +4/W +2 Human Rogue 1.

Hi AK, If i can call you that. I'm happy to see you lurking.

Truth be told you are the reason I'm here. Your Serpents Skull PBP hooked me into thinking this kind of gamiong could be fun.
Thanks

btw. I've seen that you ran a Kingmaker campaign. How did your group deal with the current issue?

So...options

Would any of you accept exile on pain of death as a compromise?
Arcane mark would take a month to fade so we would know pretty quick if we were bouble crossed.

We could also use doom to drop saves and then use Charm Person to interrogate to see if they take the idea of exile seriously.

I would like to offer our captives a choice:

1: die.

2: exile. With arcane mark. They get a simple weapon, the clothes on their backs and enough food to get them out of the Greenbelt.

3: service. Get the mark and a job helping us to tame the greenbelt. If we are satisifed after the month. They are free. If not. Choose again.

Just ideas.

:) thanks for the kind words. AK is fine.

The KM campaign is still ongoing and is in its second chapter. Many of the characters at the start were lawful good, but even the Paladin showed no remorse when Happs was unrepentant. Kressle however was a whole RP sage. After using a captured PC as a hostage to allow her escape, the party bumped into her sister looking for her and allowed her to accompany the group. Long story short, after some tense negotiations involving the same PC being taken as a hostage (again) he was able to talk her down. She received a full trial at Olegs trading post and Oleg got to administer twenty lashes to her, which were not allowed to be healed magically.

She is now married to one of the PC's, and her sister is still deeply involved in the kingdoms politics and schemes.

For your current situation, remember your in a totally lawless wilderness... And while you have permission to hang unrepentant bandits or put them to the sword, it shouldn't be something you do lightly. Poor Wandering One, surely if they do kill him you can aspire to create a kingdom where laws prevent such an act (killing a captured/surrendered foe)? I could see some good rp coming from that.

Just my thoughts :S. *lurks*

Bolding by me

That's what I was thinking. Funny that it is the Rouge taking the pro-mercy stance.

No, go ahead.

just noticed the post. Will make no different but sense motive has dropped giving Davor a massive 9 :P He fails to grasp sarcasm.

I was in Bosnia preventing war crimes so I don't much appreciate the parallels you are so lightly throwing around. This is a fantasy game and requires a certain amount of suspended disbelief. Many of the actions PC's take in game would get them arrested in our world with a quickness such as murder, assault, breaking an entering, theft etc(Even if they really are bad guys) so using examples from our worlds recent history is insulting especially when balancing the killing of FANTASY bad guys who exist only as a challenge for a group of gamers to the ethnic cleansing of REAL innocent people who where rounded up to be exterminated solely because of their cultural and religious differences.

I offer my absolute and unreserved apologies. I also remove any opposition to any plan you care to put forward. My reaction to the situation was needlessly dramatic and emotional. My use of real world examples was shockingly inept and I apologize for the insult. My knowledge of such things comes only from books and this creates an emotional distance from the horror. It was never my intent to insult you or to belittle the real events. If you would prefer it I will exit the game now.

Again I apologize for my idiotic statements.

Your apology is accepted Poor wandering one. It is a slightly touchy subject with me so my reaction was some what harsh. I don't wish for you to leave the group or anything like that. I was happy with the options you suggested it pretty much matches what I had been thinking as possible solutions.

Thank you.

And thank you for helping me excract my foot from my mouth. I will back you if you wish to put these options forward in IC. As you correctly point out they were your suggestions.

Thank you again.

And thank you for working to save people.

I also think that your suggestions are reasonable ones, Poor Wandering One. I wouldn't want you to leave the group, for what it's worth.

Wow, obviously my post didn't come across as I wanted it to!

Tarith's stance is to kill Happs, simply because it'll put fear in the rest of the bandits. I made sure to put the caveat in my post that you have a chance to stop him (so I'm glad you did, since you disagreed with him). What I wasn't clear about was that Tarith greatly respects Caelius's position (the nod at the end of the post). In fact, at the moment, Tarith is looking at Caelius as the likley future leader of the group.

So, Tarith says kill Happs and let the rest have a chance at repenting (I'm okay with exile too, if that's what's decided).

I hope I didn't strike a nerve, Poor Wandering One. I see these PbPs as writing a story... The dynamic that is happening within our group is the sort of conflict that can come about in a good story. I think in the end it'll work out.

I'll make another post and then I'm back to sporadic posting again, until Tuesday.

Sorry all, a recent schedule change at work and the recent storms that passed through the Midwest have played havoc on my free time at work. I've barely had time to keep up with the posts let alone sit down and compose a thoughtful post.
Now that things have cleared up I will sit down and take the time to catch up and get something up later today.
Again my apologies.

Caelius would be happy to hop over If you are offering. I think the chances of the DM returning to this game are rather remote.

Well it's not me that's the DM so I really shouldn't be offering, but one of our player's dropped so I assume my DM is looking for someone so drop by the OOC and ask...though the DM is kinda slow.
