About Ragnor Yver

Background
The church of Erastil has always been a strong presence in Ragnor's life. His mother worked as a midwife and church leader for their village stepping in to lead hymnals and read parables from Erastil's book while the village was without a priest. Where Ragnors mother was more outgoing and a vital element to the village Ragnor's father was more reserved. He Quietly worked his land and hunted the game of the forest. Teaching Ragnor about living off the land and how to respect the wilds. Through both parents Ragnor learned the different aspects of Erastil as the father of community and the warden of the woods. As Ragnor grew, his size and strength lent itself to the fighting arts and his parents encouraged him to serve the community in the village militia trusting that Erastil had blessed him for the purpose. In the militia Ragnor found that he needed to adjust to the rough and tumble life and used his size and strength to end internal quarrels and chest thumping before it became series. His attitude and responsible nature earned him a leadership position.

Their belief was proven correct when he fought off an attack by a pair of Worgs that had broke into one of the outlying farm houses. Ragnor had been nearby responding to concerns of wolves slaughtering cattle when he heard the screams. Finding the front door broken open and the family trapped within the root cellar The Worgs turned on Ragnor as soon as he appeared and the fight was going poorly from the start. His concerns where for the innocent family that in his weakness he would fail to protect. All Ragnor could think to do was ask Erastil for the strength to finish the fight. With his prayer strength seemed to infuse his body the weariness that had weighed on him left with renewed vigor he was able to kill one of the Worgs and chased the other off. With the danger gone Ragnor's strength left him and he collapsed from his wounds.

Ragnor spent days recovering and on the last night Erastil came to him in a vision. Marking him as a protector of the helpless and a beacon for others to follow. Ragnor's parents could see the truth of the vision on his face and knew that he would need to leave to serve Erastil as his champion. To remind himself of his duty Ragnor had the Worg skinned and its hide made into armor allowing the evil beast to serve a higher purpose after death. That was several years ago and Ragnor felt Erastil's pull leading him to Heldren where he has served faithfully waiting for Erastil's plan to become apparent.

Appearance
Ragnor is a mountain of a man with long wild dirty blond hair that he wears free. Oddly despite normal Ulfen customs Ragnor remains clean shaven giving him a youthful and innocent looking face. Ragnor usually wears peasant clothes marking his simple upbringing the wooden holy symbol of Erastil openly displayed around his neck. Ragnor normally carries his dagger and hand axe since they are useful for more then combat but when preparing for a fight Ragnor wears his grey Worg hide armor and carries his wooden shield that displays Erastil's symbol despite favoring the power of his Great Sword.

Personality
Ragnor has a easy way about him. Slow to anger and quick to make friends, it is his calm and stead manor that makes people take notice when Ragnor does decide to put forth his opinion. When called on to do battle Ragnor can be deadly serious and wastes little breath for witty banter. Ragnor believes his calling as a healer is as important as the divine responsibility that has been placed on him to be a warrior for the faith and a protector of innocents. As it is written in the Parables of Erastil. "For once the danger was past they laid down their blades for the real work that must be done to keep family and friend safe as Old One Eye looked on he was pleased and blessed them with a plentiful harvest to keep their children's bellies full and cheeks rosy even on the coldest of winter night."
