Old DDI, right? You said your sub was out? Also, what's the call on the free Bard ritual as an Alchemist?

Any file you export from the nCB can be viewed by the oCB.

Yep! Happens to the best of us.

(For those who are wondering, I managed to post a superfluous query already answered above, and it double posted to add insult to injury. I have now deleted both pointless posts, but not before X'bul nabbed me.)

Reposting a conversation from the recruitment thread that explains why I'm not using the inherent bonus rules for the game.

I'd be interested, but I'm curious as to why you aren't using the inherent bonus system, given that it's kind of tailor-made for the low treasure feel of Athas.

I was wondering how this would work. In some ways, playing the weapon breakage rules without the inherent bonuses would arguably make it less likely that anyone would make an item, since you could invest hard-earned cash creating it and roll a 1 on your first attack. And I'm not too sure what exactly is meant by "options other than combat" for getting magical items. From what I've read, Dark Sun is supposed to be fairly low-magic so making it so characters have to create their own items sort of runs against that - the DM can't control the flow in the same way, and items would be a bit less special if they are made to order like a suit. Could you explain what you are trying to achieve? Thanks.

The way I see it is on Athas there would be very little permanent magic items but consumable items wouldn't be that rare.
Nobody would enchant a weapon as a whole for the reason you stated above but they would enchant a hilt of a sword or axe, leather wrapping on a staff and so on. So if you break a magic sword's blade in combat you just need to replace the blade and your magic weapon would be whole again. It’s the same principle that allows a magic bow to pass on its magic effects to a non magical arrow. As long as the hilt is whole it passes its magic to the blade attached. I also want the group to actively seek out more powerful magic items not only because you want them but because you need them to survive. With the inherent bonus system the group doesn’t have any reason to explore or take risks to gain a power bonus they just have to make it to the next level.

Just to let you know, I will be going on holiday from Thursday for just over a week or so. I won't have any internet access in this time.
