Rocket Science: Bomb-omb! (Voltorbs are disconcerting to me, even when I own them, due to self-destruct.)

Naked rocket science?! I cover myself! It's super effective!

EDIT: grrr... autocorrect...

New avatar, too cartoony, even for me?

Not sure if it's really working for me, they need new avatars!

Maybe I'll go back to Anubis.

Pah! 9 years ago I found the perfect avatar and have never needed to change it.

Don't know if you guys have seen this, but Oladon's online campaign tools extension for Chrome and Firefox is a thing of beauty. It does nice formatting of the campaigns page, highlights new entries, allows color-coded pbp entries, and generally makes it easier and more pleasant to update your pbps!

Today I was supposed to go selling (i.e. buying) books, but I had to work, so I couldn't

However, I finished earlier than I thought, so also got to go to Hali-Con (I'm not making that up), hosted in the Bob 'Nobby' Chambers Exhibition Centre in picturesque Carcosa (I am making that up).

There were actors signing things(I didn't bother with that), cars from TV/films and people dressed as superheroes who you could get photographed with (ditto), a lightsabre fencing class that had finished by the time I got there and a bunch of people selling stuff. And a huge great inflatable Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man outside. I bought a t-shirt with a sexy pirate on and a Harley Quinn comic. It was alright.

Today, I am having a bowl of turkey soup and taking a nap. Probably in that order.

You are truly Living The Life. Congrats!

We have a "secondary Thanksgiving" that's causing untold stress in the house because the entire attitude can be summarized by, "We have FOUR DAYS OFF. Is there ONE DAY where we can just sit around and do NOTHING?!?!?"

Lying around and doing nothing -- another benefit of a good Thanksgiving...

Five for Fighting: reference overload! I'll settle for commenting on all the awesome references at once (like so), praise the fire lord for a job well done, and mention that I haven't listened to Five for Fighting in approximately forever. I need to fix that soon.

Oh, and I forgot to mention before now, but duuuuuuuuuuuude does your Tumbler look different from Chrome to iPhone. Chrome ends after the current post, is black background with lighter text, and is otherwise spare. iPhone starts out with a bright orange spiral and continues down to white background with dark lettering, ends with advertisements for hotdogs, and just rolls through other posts below that. Weeeeiiiiiirrrrrd.

Well, turkey soup and a nap on top of a couple of other things.

Full Disclosure:

  • Complete, scan, and email documents required for leasing company;
  • Fill out online address changes for as many places as possible;
  • Complete and send required student financial aid docs;
  • Finish client #1 prep for an audit;
  • Meet with and interview prospective new client;
  • Win new client -- go me!;
  • Update my own bookkeeping and finish latest invoices;
  • Work on professional certifications for accounting software;
  • Do laundry;
  • Finish Thanksgiving dishes;
  • Finish prepping lunches/dinners for the week;
  • Vacuum carpet and damp mop tile (the snow messes stuff up);
  • Flush out dog ears, wash dog feet, dose dog with antibiotics, walk dog umpteen times, bathe dog;
  • Test "new" headset;
  • Do some proofreading and editing;
  • Call client #3 and touch base;
  • Drink coffee.

But all in all, this is quite an easy day.

How many people does it take to store an iPod for layaway?

5.

4 to say "I don't know where" (including me) and Captain Yesterday.

Yeah I have no idea how to tweak the mobile view, unfortunately.

I'm bored...and back, baby!

None of you missed me. None of you remembered I was ever even here.

Seriously, who uses layaway anymore? What is this, 1987? Don't worry about whether I'm wearing Hammer pants or not to answer that question, it's irrelevant. They're incredibly comfortable.

In a manner of speaking....it's more accurate to say I was here, attempting to see who noticed whether or not I was the real captain.

This is the Midwest, they just recently came to grips with Ronald Reagan leaving office, and I'll be damned if I'm the one to tell them what happens in 1992.

He makes a good point. I'm in Jacksonville. If you judged all of Florida by Tallahassee and Jacksonville, you might end up thinking Florida was actually culturally similar to the rest of the south, when really, most of this state is an amalgamation of North Cuba, New York exiles (who won't shut the f*** up about how awesome NY is, but apparently it's not so wonderful that they won't leave that place and never return), and so much of the elderly. Seriously, in South Florida, if you say the word "y'all" people look at you with the same "what is this guy, retarded?" face as they do in, say, New Jersey.

Don't mind him; he gets grumpy when he's bored.

In Wisconsin we say "Oh, yah" and "You betcha" and if you want even more hilarity have someone from Wisconsin say "Oregon"

Of course now I have to spend the rest of my shift changing my avatar, do you know how hard that is? No very, but I can't handle much.

Small confession: I'm kind of tired of the green tea schtick. I mean, I kept it up because I've kind of built a name around here after a few thousand posts, but to be honest, I drink a lot less tea than I used to.

It's not even my alias in almost the entirety of the rest of the internet.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm gonna be honest, my Wisconsin impression is exactly the same as my Canadian impression, and nobody seems to care.

I hardly have any aliases.

It's not that hard to copy it, either. Right click, copy image URL, paste into web browser, find the picture's name, type it in the search box when choosing a pic; boom, first result.

You're pretty much wasting your time. You never know when I'll strike with this, and you can't be changing your avatar every two minutes.

I mean you could, but if you do, I already won.

Yep.

Especially the now-bolded part. I've never been to New York, but I've lived in Florida long enough to have met literally thousands of people from New York, and never a single one who wasn't an @sshole.

Oh, dear, you're not keeping up at all.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Maybe not, but as I said, if you have to do this, I've already won.

Plus, I'm not at work. I'm chilling at house we rented for the holidays on my laptop enjoying some ice cream with nothing to do. This is not really a bother. Frankly, I'm hitting refresh every couple minutes as I watch YouTube videos.

I literally have a window open with my account, where all I have to do is copy and paste and hit submit.

Apparently you can submit the picture's URL right into the search function to save time.

Really? The multiple personality alias conversation thing?

Geeze, man, how much do you have to rip the guy off in a single thread? That's his schtick! He has a whole thread dedicated to it!

Yeah, but imitation can be a form of flattery.

Plus, it's not like it isn't fun.
