*sigh*

I am seriously not enjoying the obscurity or absence of my super-handy focused view of all activities Messageboard . . . . I now have to jump through hoops to find what I used to be able to pull up with one url on my phone's browser . . . .

Tentatively: FAIL (but probably the result of ancient technology, lack of tech-savvy, and sleep deprivation rather than a problem in what's been done . . . . For the record.)

Yeah, being able to view all of the threads I was following on 1 page was good. Of course, I only follow 7 threads, and 6 of them are in Off-Topic, but now I have to check two different places. Not a big deal, but it does mean I'm less likely to check the one oddball. Also, I used to be able to go from the forums to the PRD with one click. Now it takes 3. Again, not a huge deal, but it does make the site slower to navigate.

And the f~#~ing update stole my pants!!!

I could only get to the link by tracking Orthos by net scent. Sorry Orthos if I breached your privacy(I swear I only looked at your posts to find that thread to post on new changes), but I felt it was more productive then sitting here and complaining.

Oh and this calls for some singing.

A whole new world
A new "fantastic" point of view
No one has any idea
Where some threads have gone
Alas we aren't still dreaming...

Well at first I thought it wasn't that bad until I tried to search for other threads then realized that I couldn't find anything without access to messageboards from my phone...even to feedback.

Then it was ??!!

How about some palindromes to change things up a little?

Marge lets Norah see Sharon's telegram.
Mr. Owl ate my metal worm.
Ogre, flog a golfer. Go!
Was it a car or a cat I saw?
Never odd or even.
Do geese see God?
A nut for a jar of tuna.
Al lets Della call Ed "Stella".
Borrow or rob?
Taco cat.

Looks like you guys failed your UMD checks. Hope NH can pop in and give you bonuses via inspire competence in a step by step manual on what to do.

Now please don't look at me, I'm not even viewing this page through a computer so I have no idea what you're seeing. I think I may be seeing things differently.

But I will strongly suggest all of us start collecting our greviances and channeling it to the complaints thread so the devs can start fixing things.

OK tested a peek on modzilla. Messageboard link is still broken, pressing F12 pops up the developers stuff, which I'm loathe to touch as I am a luddite. I may make matters worse when I try to tamper with the fabric of the universe. Sorry guys. Can't help.

Hoping that NH can write an instruction manual on how to use F12 to change font size...

It was pretty easy to change on Chrome. F12, then it says "body" some stuff "font: normal 12px Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" and more stuff. Changing the 12 to any other value changes the size of the font on the page, but if I leave the page and come back it reverts to the 12. I don't see any way to save the change, but I'm no expert.

I suppose it's just a matter of timing. And they can do whatever they want with their website... but...

...I don't want this too. I can't find stuff. They look wonky. And nobody has yet said that Gamer Life is coming back to the main page.

*whines pitifully*

They're using the same font and color scheme my cable company uses when they warn me my internet is about to be interrupted for failing to pay.

So now every time I visit I have to remind myself I paid that last week.

Hopefully, they're not done with it yet...

That's why we need to post in the complaints thread I linked earlier. So at least they know what we don't like and it's up to them if they want to do anything about it.

The Forum drop-down menu on the main page doesn't scale to monitor sizes of less than 1280 X 800. On my desktop monitor at home, the entire right half of the drop-down is chopped off. Works fine on my Dell laptop.

And, yes, I brought this issue up as well.

The font size is in the body of the HTML text that the browser receives from the server. Going to another page, then back, forces a reload. Which resets the font size.

I wouldn't even know how to get anywhere to complain about it.

I'm either going to be around a lot less, or I'm going to go through aspirin like it's oxygen.

This forum setup is literally painful. As in, my eyes hurt and I have a minor headache after struggling through fifty posts.

The previous forum wasn't the best, but it also didn't cause me physical pain.

Where's the complaints thread?

One good aspect of new website design, using their where to buy link I discovered a previously undiscovered game store in Madison.

Considering it's across the street from Pegasus Games in a strip mall surrounded by car dealerships and instant cash stores I can be forgiven for not realizing it existed.

Still, I should see what they have before they close, because that is one s@@%ty location!

Comic Sans might actually be an improvement. It's something about the spacing of the really thin typeface that's making my eyes hurt. Comic sans has a little more weight to its characters despite looking incredibly silly.

Complaining about changes to Paizo is like complaining about changes to That Thing Freehold Hates.
No, that other thing Freehold hates.
No, not that one, the OTHER one.
Facebook.
Designers change things.
Everyone hates it and complains.
Nothing happens.
It's like waiting for Godot.

I've given my feedback in the appropriate thread.

I'm rather surprised by the number of people who seem to like the new design. Apparently I'm already too old-fashioned or just too resistant to change, if this is "modern web design" I was pretty happy with what is apparently now "out of date".

I might take a few days off the forums and come back later and see if I feel more positive about it. =/

naturally i like it. So you dislike it.

What else do you dislike? I want to see if we should just order each others hated foods at a lunch date or something.

Freehold,

Thankyou for your hard work in unleashing THE BEAST FROM THE EAST upon us, even if all that means in practice is that there's around four picoscints of snow and it's quite cold. (Cold? In February? In Northern England? Well I never!)

HEMA's cancelled tonight, though. Bah.

If it works.

As is, this redesign is pure form over function. They went for a modern design, which...eh. I would've done it differently, and I'm pretty sure "resounding meh" is not the reaction you want to unveiling a new design...but broke half the functionality of access and readability in the process. I'll consider being more charitable when they address the basic functions of a forum.

I'm really trying to change the font, but (in Chrome) I can't quite figure out how. I would greatly request any help whatsoever.

Holy cow, this makes such a daggum difference.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for a multi-tab navigation (like I use).

But it helps in the meantime. A lot.

LM - some of the things can be fixed - I bet they are bugs.

Like links that go back to the mainpage instead of the correct forum. Or PMs that don't give an alert.

So to say that Nothing happens isn't quite right.

Chances are the font size and layout is here to stay though.

Anyway it's better to make sure the issues are known so the devs can sort em out. I mean well, to fix a problem you first need to know you got one, right?

Yep, I know I'm echoing Robert.
