I'm not sure how CTRL + Scroll Wheel got me naked, but I'm sure whiskey was involved. It must have been quite a night.

Damn! So it does. Good for temporary use when reading a page. Resets to default when a new page is loaded, however.

Try using the Forum drop-down menu, and you'll see my point about the menu not scaling to the size of the screen and being clipped on the right.

Edit: Just now got the font size balanced between readability and the drop-down not being clipped.

Font's alright.

The fact that the fun bits of Paizo I like to look at aren't easily accessible, and that I can't see which pages I haven't read, are less pleasing, but I can kvetch about that in the Website Feedback section should I so desire, assuming it's still there...

Font looks fine on my iPhone, it’s the Desktop that I have a problem with.

Well, I'll likely write an essay tonight or tomorrow on web design and how badly the team that implemented Paizo's new look failed the First Tenet of Web Design ("First: Is the new site at least as easy to use as the old site?"), but until then I'll probably be pretty quiet here, because having to do the extra navigation to get here is a PITA.

I decided to try to take it from an objective point of view, so first I started on the Home page and tried to find and purchase an item. That was at least one additional step, but then took me back to the original store. Then I tried to find a forum. That was at least two extra steps. Then I tried to check my account and look for private messages. Extra steps. So regardless of appearance, the new pages are more difficult to use than the old pages. This violates every basic design principle I know.

This never would have happened if they let me build it, just saying.

I mostly build patios, walls, and fire pits but there's a lot of crossover, I'm sure, measure twice and cut once and all.

Oh, yeah! It's such a great AP over-all, but that lolitrolu moment really got me when I was reading through it, as well.

It was all, "Wait, what? WHAT."

As it stands, History of Ashes can honestly proooooooobably be cut out in its entirety (or mostly cut out, anyway). The idea is cool, but the execution... notsomuch.

I typically use CTRL + '+', I completely forgot you can do that with scroll wheel. Which seems to generally work a bit erratically and twitchy in my Chrome.

In fairness, when the AP was first published, Smite didn't work the way it does now (because it was still 3.5 instead of PF). Smite was a single attack, and didn't necessarily overcome DR.

LINK; CLICK HERE

But...

Spoiler:
DR 10/adamantine and regeneration 20

... and having just looked it up, it's not the DR (which remains), but the regeneration that's negated. Also, every successful hit (against an extremely-formidable-in-3.5 {AC 43}) not only negates the regeneration for that damage*, but also applies negative levels**.

* Regeneration works differently, too. It used to all be nonlethal damage unless you could overcome the regeneration - the damage dealt by whatever overcomes the regeneration is lethal.

** By this point, just presuppose it works differently.

... so it's kind of legitimate, but, at the same time, the relevant tactics that don't really take that into consideration, and it literally serves only to force the party to take a TWO-ENTRY-SIDE-QUEST.

(It's kind of a big deal.)

... but, yeah, in PF, there really isn't a reason.

Also, a single disintegrate will take care of all of that, regardless of edition.

Go for the full spine replacement that doubles as a power core. You can use it to power other cybernetics later.

Get the one by Microsoft, not Apple. Microsoft's may crash at the drop of a hat, but it can be rebooted and is very easily upgraded. The Apple one doesn't crash often, but when it does it's usually bricked and upgrading it requires a full body replacement.

I'd suggest the Linux one, but all they do is mail you a portable genetics/cybernetics lab and instructions on how to make your own.

I love Crimson Throne, and HoA is a good adventure - lots of roleplay opportunities and interesting NPCs, but...yeah. It's getting axed. It has only tangential relevance to the main quest, and Rainbow's on a time crunch.

But I heard Linux when set up properly doesn't break down and offers greater customization since you're making your own cybernetics. Heck you could probably plop in a force field generator in the package...

Dare I close this tab to find out whether they've added Gamer Life to the main forum page...?

Which I take personal offense to btw, as I recall I specifically asked Paizo to create a Gamer Life forum, way back when. ;)

Yeah, that's the reason I suggested it.

I knew of your time-crunch and figured that, of the adventures, it was the best one to "go."

As an aside, Skeletons of Scarwall is mostly a big megadungeon. Depending on how you're handling experience, it can also be partially axe'd (or sword'd?) as it's mostly just one really, really, really loooooooooooooooooooooong and big dungeon. You shouldn't cut out the whole adventure, but you can probably cut out several chunks of the castle and not really miss a beat.

*Sigh* Yes, my desktop still has issues. The forums drop-down is still being clipped on the right. Only have the first two columns showing. Probably need a new computer. But this one still works. I really don't see why I should get rid of a good, working computer. Maybe a larger monitor will help. *Yawn* Problems for another day, I suppose. Tired, going to bed. Good night, all.

Just get two monitors. I widened my browser to both and managed to click on off-topic forums.

In other news, a second Amazon Prime food delivery, this time from our favorite local pizza place that doesn't deliver (Little Star).

The delivery was exactly on time, still hot, 100% accurate, and the driver was smiling and friendly. And he had some kind of charming accent that I think was Middle Eastern, but I'm bad at placing people.

So... a couple of people have given me the stink-eye for using them instead of a more local service like TryCaviar, but TryCaviar failed to bring me my dinner at all... TWICE!

I mean, seriously. Nothing but nightmare stories about every other delivery service around here, and then Amazon shows up and kicks the s*** out of all of them.

Sorry. I'm ordering from Amazon. At some point actually being able to do the job I ask you to becomes part of the equation.

Here’s a question to you folks. We all know players also look at GM posting history (which is why I probably didn’t get too many submissions for my first foray into PBPs). People don’t want to play under a first time PBP GM for fear that the GM in question will flake out. I understand that, I wouldn’t be too happy to either.

Now after the spectacular blow-up of the last one, should I put the link of the last one in my next recruitment thread? So that people will know I have nothing to hide? Like…the how I feel about abuse of NPCs…

Truthfully I understand I may not be the most easy-going GM to get along with – though I know a batch of PFS seekers who would disagree(since I don’t have weird house rules and tend to be rather cheese-tolerant. PFS legal? Go nuts. *Certain cat just gives a lazy yawn*)

If people ask me on the previous thread – well I haven’t really changed overly much. I’m still Lawful. Given the same situation, I still would have done everything the same way. I suppose I’ll just sit around and answer on how I feel about certain things?

I’m the kind of cat that doesn’t improvise very well, so I sort of like to have things all planned out beforehand.
