What happens to a demon when it dies? Would it reform in the abyss or just be dead (well, unless someone casts wish or something on it) or something else entirely?
On a related note, I'm trying to make stats for an npc who was killed earlier and comes back as a (unique) demon; do you think I should use the fiendish template or the half fiend template? Both are in the first bestiary.
Thanks,
Adam

They're more likely to worship the deities of their own pantheon though. Deities who've never been named before, but finally get names in the upcoming Inner Sea Gods book (although not a lot of details beyond their names... so don't get your hopes up there!).
As long as they have domains and favored weapons, I'm good. The main problem is that most Orcs supposedly worship Rovagug, which is great except for the fact that he's highly setting-specific.
Personally, I don't quite understand what an Orc deity would endorse beyond "Waaaaaaagggggh!".

It's gone. If it dies on the Abyss, its body decays normally (or supernaturally, depending on the environment) and merges with the quintessence of the Abyss. If it dies elsewhere, it just decays. Its "soul" is its body, and that material rots away as well—that's why it takes miracle or a true resurrection to restore it to life.
I'd go with the half-fiend template, or even better, a half-demon template from "Demons Revisited." Or maybe even just a full demon with some class levels and the NPC's memories.

All of our deities are highly-setting-specific then, so that's not something you can say is a negative for Rovagug in particular.
And indeed, he's the deity most orcs worship. On Golarion.
Elsewhere, depends on the setting. I assume that when folks ask questions like this, though, that they're asking about Golarion.

Ok, thanks. I won't have time to pick up Demons Revisited before the weekend, unfortunately, so I guess I'll have to go with the half fiend and make it CE. Ah well. I have one other question then, do demons age? What about outsider (native) type creatures?
Thanks again, these answers are incredibly helpful.

It would, but I was more referring to external weapon systems. I'm sure once you're inside you can't move 5 feet without a laser pointed at you :)
Did you ever play the Marathon games by Bungie?

In Wrath of the Righteous, would transforming the fully upgraded Holy Avenger Radiance into a Sacred Avenger (from Mythic Adventures) be too powerful? One of my players asked if Radiance had anymore upgrades after the fourth book and I was considering a Sacred Avenger upgrade if the party were able to defeat Baphomet in book 5.

My Jade Regent group has only 2 players, so I let them pick and choose NPCs to carry on "missions" (I randomly pick the NPCs to fight alongside the PCs on random caravan encounters), Mass Effect style. Both players are long-time Bioware players and are loving the idea.
But one of the PCs is a rogue, and her talents really overlap Sandru's big time. In an effort to make him more useful to the party (and hopefully get picked more!) I plan on converting him fully into the playtest Swashbuckler class.
What are your thoughts on that? Does changing him from rogue(swashbuckler) to a full swashbuckler take away any of his personality/background elements? What are the main elements I should focus on keeping?

So after seeing the credits page of part 6 of Wrath should we assume the little footnote is canon or more just a joke by the Paizo staff?
I don't think any of the credits page easter eggs have been counter-canonical, though most of them don't really make any claims about the world so much as just being cute comments (like "What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!" for Carrion Crown). Some of the ones that have been statements are

Hello again!
Some more random questions, if I may...
1) What kind of power would be necessary to change a (willing) Tiefling into a Half-Fiend (which has to fit the story, of course)?
Would a Miracle granted by a corresponding Demigod (Archdevil, Demon Lord, etc...) suffice?
2) Demons Revisited presents ten special half-demon templates. For half-demons of other kinds, should one go with just the standard half-fiend template, or do you suggest I make one up by tweaking the standard template?
(The template in question would be a half-Alu-Demon)

Hey James,
I was reading through Chronicle of the Righteous earlier, and while it was full of good stuff mechanics-wise, the story of Tabris really stole the show for me.
With that said, is there anyway I can learn whatever it is that Tabris shared with the celestials in Heaven that lead to his exile? And what about the Seventh Accord? Will we ever learn more about that event?

A question on spell-likes and mythic spells for you, if you can answer. Do you think the Mythic Spellcasting or Mythic Spell Lore ability/feat can or should apply to them? I'm thinking something along the lines of a character taking Divine Source, and then getting either one or the other to get some/all of the spell-likes it grants in their mythic form (with the appropriate MP expenditure, naturally). Spell-likes are only like spells, though, not actually spells, so it seems a bit unclear.
Do you have any thoughts on the intent of the mythic spellcasting options, viability or otherwise that might make things clearer? If you think the question is better in the rules forum, then that's fine too, but I would like to know your opinion anyway.

As a general rule, outsiders don't age. Demons certainly don't. Some native outsiders like aasimars and tieflings age, but others don't.

Nope; didn't have a Mac at the time, and I'm not a huge fan of Halo so I never felt the need to go back and try it.

What do you think the Darklands would be like in a modern-day Golarion?
Read The Descent and Deeper by Jeff Long. They were a huge part of the inspiration for me for the Darklands, and are the best books I've read that present what a real-world Darklands or Underdark would be like.
(And no... this is not the book that inspired the movie "Descent" at all. That movie is VERY good too... but it's completely different from Jeff Long's books.)

Depends on how powerful the party already is, and how experienced at gaming the players are. Defeating Baphomet is certainly something that could turn the sword into a sacred avenger... but that's something you'll need to decide if you want to happen. (The fact that the PCs defeated Baphomet would argue that they're probably powerful enough already though...)

I think that's a great idea. Sandru definitely fits the swashbuckler type.

Good... LORD. That is a -LONG- list of questions and replies. Welp, I'll ask the dreaded question:
Will there be an epic level handbook anytime soon and will it solve the problems inherent to epic levels? *background thunder*
Our version of epic level is Mythic Adventures.
We have no plans (and, frankly, no interest) in expanding the level limit for PCs past 20. The game isn't built for that.

Hey James,
I am going to ask you what are the chances that we will se certain AP ideas that I have...
1) A Darklands AP?
2) A AP set in Qudira and by extension the Keleshite Empire?
3) A Planet Hopping AP?
4) A Taldor political one that deals with PrincessEutropia?
5) A Kyonin AP?
1) I'd love to do a Darklands AP.
2) I'd love to do an AP set here, but only if it includes an exploration of the Sarenrae church's schism.
3) I'd love to do a planet hopping AP.
4) I'd love to do a Taldor AP... but so would Rob, and we have opposite opinions as to who the "good guys" are in that nation...
5) I'd love to do a Kyonin AP!

Is it possibly a hint towards the next AP.

1) The demon transformation ritual described in Lords of Chaos would do the trick. Miracle and Wish could probably do it too.
2) The foreword to that book gives some advice on how to make half-demon templates for other demons. I wouldn't make a half-alu-demon or a half-cambion though... they're weird corner cases since they're already kinda half demons.

Demon lords and other powerful creatures can use mythic spell-like abilities, so there's certainly a precedent for that.
The intent on the mythic spellcasting options is that they apply to spells, not spell-like abilities, but they can absolutely apply to spell-like abilities if you want. ESPECIALLY for monsters. Whether or not it's fair for PCs... I would say yes, provided you still have to expend mythic power to activate them.

Wasteland 2
Dragon Age Inquisition (or is that next year?)
And various other Kickstarter games I pitched in for

Is it possible for a Fossegrim (one of the best musical creatures out there) to wake Mogaru (the Kaiju) with his music abilities and control the beast with song and voice?
Probably. That's mixing two different cultures so I probably wouldn't do a story like that just on thematic principles though.

Just because I'd love to do an AP doesn't mean we'll do it. There's a lot more that goes into deciding what to do with an AP, and there are a LOT more plots than those you listed above I'd love to do.
And while Taldor doesn't do much for me creatively wise, the opportunity to do something with that region that solves my personal concerns is what intrigues me.

Probably. That's mixing two different cultures so I probably wouldn't do a story like that just on thematic principles though.
That raises another question :-p
So we never gonna see multiple cultures mixed in Adventure Path's? Like Rokurokubi working together with creatures from another culture like a Greek or Slavic creature?
Are there Rokurokubi, Jorogumo and Harionago that aren't asian women but from other races? Or are they always asian?

Put me down for a Taldor AP! Is there a way you and Rob could work together to create a morally complex game where the PCs get to choose the good guys?
OR could you guys do like dueling APs where first half we have Rob's version, then we have your version?
This get me excited because I just love intrigue based games.

We actually DO mix multiple cultures all the time in our Adventure Paths.
But when it comes to something like a jorogumo, yeah... they'd usually be asian. Not necessarily always though... depends on the situation and story.

Hey James,
I was at work today and had a question pop into my head that I would like your input on.
What do you imagine Golarion will look like 10 years from now?
50 years from now?
and 200 years from now?
Assuming setting cannon and such are not an issues.
I'm most interested in what you think Golarion's technology would look like at these intervals, but societal changes would be cool too.
like would there be colonies in Arcadia? Would Golarion's people take to the stars with great frequency?
Thank you.
