What do you think of recent evidence that T-Rex and other large Theropods may have been covered in course feathers rather than the 'traditional' scaly appearance? Any chance of vibrantly plumed dinos showing up in Paizo products? We generally mix it up—sometimes dinosaurs have scales, sometimes feathers, sometimes vibrantly colored, sometimes conservatively colored. Artist preference often comes into play as well.
At the end of the day, Golarion is still a fantasy setting, so if new Science comes out that invalidates your existing fluff ... screw the Science, I have wish!

I have a question. I am very interested in writing adventures and running them. Let's say I've finished running a non Golarion adventure and I'd like to write it up on Google Docs and let people play it for free. Are we allowed to do this and if so, what are the limitations to do it? Thanks for your answer.

You can do so as long as you don't make any money from it and as long as it complies with the rules of the Community Use license.

Sounds like the Aspis Consortium could make a large profit by setting up some mythological story to get people to buy their goods. Perhaps also offer a delivery service too for a price.

New Question... I hope it is new and I have not missed it.
Two parts.
One, does a Magus recieve the +3 from Shocking Grasp when using Spellstrike?
Two, if said magus uses elemental spell to change the energy type, does he still recieve the +3 against metal?
As far as I can tell Yes and Yes but there have been several message board and table top arguments about it.

Can you throw a towel over the sensor created by Scrying or Greater Scrying? We're not sure how much substance the sensor actually has.
My oracle has an ally's Greater Scrying sensor (which lasts for hours) following her around, and we were discussing whether she could throw a blanket over it or otherwise cover it if she needed privacy.

1) Yes. Spellstrike doesn't change the rules for the spell itself.
2) Yes, unless the GM rules that doesn't make any sense, which I would agree with.

The sensor created is not solid. A towel just falls through it. You COULD put a box around it though. Or drape a towel over something solid next to the sensor.

I have a Question regarding the Summoner.
How do they gain their Powers?
Every Class has some kind of explanation why they can do what they can do except the Summoner.
Do they have Sorcerer Ancestry? Does it come from their Eidolon? A Patron?
How a summoner gains their powers depends on the Campaign. And likely depends on various things IN the campaign.
My preference is to say that they learn their powers by studying conjuration type magic and by exposing themselves to weird planar energies and by learning tricks from weird outsider and planar forces.

Actually, if you're not using any of our setting material or other Product Identity, you don't need the Community Use Policy, just the OGL. (And if you want to tell people it's compatible with the Pathfinder RPG, you'll also need the Pathfinder RPG Compatibility License.)

Is that the result?
By the way, did you ever own any Dino-Rider toys as a kid?
P.S. I think you have the theme for the Numeria AP now :P
Just reposting. I ask because my grandma recently pulled some Dino-Rider toys I used to play with out of storage for my nephews. I'm 23 years old and found myself playing with them when they were taking a nap...
[Edit] In case someone asks, I have the smaller triceratops and the larger triceratops. The smaller one has a seat, but no rider, unfortunately. I think I buried him in the yard one day and never found him again.

James what do you think of increased racial diversity in some of the other core races? Such as Dwarves for example, different cultures of dwarves with the same racial statistics.
What do you think of my house rule of making AoE spells measured in volume instead of just spaces? Basically a fireball will take up just as many cubic squares even if fired off in a hallway, so a backdraft effect occurs.

I think racial diversity in non-human races is cool. We focus so much on humans in Golarion stuff that it often ends up not really showing up in the non humans we do... but it happens now and then.
As for making spells measured in volumes... as long as all of you at your game table are math experts, should be fine. It only takes one person who's NOT a math wiz (like, say, me) to make that kind of house rule annoying, though. And there's certainly repercussions that would pop up...

Could we possibly see those Osirioni dwarves explored further in the future? :)

I was wondering this very same thing the other day- I recently picked up Heart of the Jungle and Sargava, the Lost Colony, and noticed some tribal groups of elves, gnomes, and other demihumans described in there, which was cool, because it's the first time I'd seen that in a Golarion product. I'd love to see more detailed info along those lines much like the different ethnicities of humans.
I was also thinking that creating racial traits specific to particular clans or tribes of demihumans might be a good way of helping to make some distinctions like this.

A while back, you said something about developing/finishing and publishing a primitive/prehistoric setting, but that you don't have the cash for it, would something like kickstarter help?

Absolutely. I'm relatively sure that Kickstarter would let me get any number of projects off the ground, be they "Unspeakable Futures" or "a prehistoric RPG or whatever. Which is really exciting.
Only thing really blocking that process now is time... of which I have not enough to do things like this as long as I'm working at Paizo.

We don't assign different racial traits to different human ethnicities (with the exception of the Azlanti) so it'd be weird to do so with other races in my opinion... again, save for special cases (like aquatic elves, drow, duergar, and svirfneblin).

The eyes of elves in Golarion. I really like the way that you've used them to distinguish Golarion from other settings, it makes your elves look a lot cooler, but, are they monochromatic or do they just happen to have really big irises? I've seen both in the art you've released across the various books. Also, Half-elves, do they generally have elven eyes or human eyes?

Hey James, Now that I am finally employed I am trying to figure my Pazio yearly budget.
I know that you guys produce 12 APs and 2 hardcovers a year. My question is there a set number of Player Companions, Campaign settings books, and modules in a year?
There's actually 3 hardcovers a year; usually 1 in Quarter 2, on in Quarter 3, and one in Quarter 4. From what I heard, this year's books are the Advanced Race Guide (Early June), Ultimate Equipment (Late August / Early September), and the NPC Codex (Unknown; it was mentioned by Jason but never officially announced on the site).
Player Companions and Campaign Setting books, from what I've been told, are bi-monthly. So you'll see 6 of each in a year.

Just a correction: Modules are Bi-monthly, Players Companions are currently bi-monthly, but will change to monthly in August. the Campaign Setting doesn't have a schedule.

Question...the ratfolk popped up in bestiary 3...i've seen a couple references to them in "distant worlds" as being found on some of the other planets...but no mention of where they might be found on golarion itself...any thoughts?
The bulk of the ratfolk on Golarion live in Sekamina in the Darklands under Tian Xia, but they've found their way into other regions of the world.

Elven eyes are monochromatic... until you get up close and see there are indeed irises and pupils and all that... they just look weird. They do not have "whites" to their eyes... except when artists mess up and we don't catch the error in time...
Half elves have human eyes, but the eyes are often weird colors like red, bright green, purple, or the like.

Actually, we've been doing 4 hardcovers a year of late. 3 in the rulebook line and 1 more in other lines. Last year, the "bonus" one was the Inner Sea World Guide, while this year it's "Rise of the Runelords."
Player companions are going monthly starting in August.
Modules are once every other month.
Adventure Paths are monthly.
Campaign Setting books are monthly as well (although 2 a year are map folios).

James, I really like knowing the schedule, thanks a lot! What is the general attitude and what does the track towards Pathfinder 2.0 look like?
If by "Pathfinder 2.0" you mean "2nd edition Pathfinder," that track has yet to be invented. AKA: it's only been a couple years since Pathfinder 1.0 came out. It's not time for a 2nd edition yet. We'll announce it when it is, and said announcement and the public reaction, I suspect, will be impossible to ignore or miss.
For now, though... we've still got plenty to do with the game we already have.

I'd actually be okay with a year that doesn't have a bonus book, since they make our other lines fall behind and that makes me sad and stressed out and cranky.
