Sry, but it does look somewhat incomplete.

Not by me. I don't do erratas or the like for the rulebooks. You should ask this question (rephrased, perhaps, to be a little less accusatory or antagonistic...) in the rulebook's forum so it can be tagged for the FAQ and so the design team will see the question.

James,

If I recall correctly, a long time ago, you said in response to one of my questions the the average Azlanti was likely LN or N in alignment.

Would you be willing to say how rare was a good Azlanti in the later days of the empire? I was going to go with something like 10 out of 100, but re-reading my sources I couldn't find a single good (known) azlanti character; even Savith was LN.

Essentially, I am trying to figure out a background for a Follower of Acavna in the later days of the empire. This character won't really appear in game as he is long dead, but the adventure would reveal fragments of his life.

Ah, I don't actually have interested in D&D Tiamat, I think she looks silly with five different colored heads <_< I was just curious about Pathfinder version's lore.

To be honest, if I used her, I would make there be a plot twist and shes wouldn't be evil aligned :p Since Dahak already fulfills the CE dragon god role.

ANYWAY, questions:

1) Would you find pulp-scifi mad scientist Alchemist to be interesting villain?

Asking this since my follow up question is asking for tips in creating motivation for such a villain >_> I mean, immortality, eternal youth, resurrecting dead, transmuting iron to gold, etc classic mad scientist/alchemist goals can be done with magic(and probably with in game alchemist rules as well...), so... Yeah, what is left for mad alchemist attempt to do? Besides being mad and trying to find scientific horrific way to do those things I guess?

I guess brain transplants and/or horrific chimeric golems are always option even if everything else can be done... Not sure if those are really campaign main villain material though... Maybe creating "new" life or trying to become a god in some horrific science-y manner... Hmm...

2) So would Mana Wastes AP be something like a post apocalyptic Western or something? I mean, they are main source of gunslingers so that would make Western sound like a possible theme, but Mana Wastes seems to be much more about nuclear wasteland aesthetics and mutants...

3) So umm, how closely related are goblinoid subspecies anyway? Asking this because of RotR Bruthazmuz. Previously I would have never thought bugbear would be interested in goblins so I'm little confused now.

Howdy JJ, I was hoping you'd clarify something in Iron Gods.

Spoiler:

Where, exactly, is Unity located in the ship? The book says that he plans on transferring his essence onto the shuttle along with the Divinity Drive, but what exactly would that mean?

Is there a particular reason why Unity needs only to bring the shuttle and Drive into high orbit to ascend, while Casandalee must have both the shuttle and Drive be destroyed?

One final question if you don't mind: would the AI Casandalee consider herself a different person from the real Casandalee, or different? I dunno how aware souls are in extraplanar affairs but I honestly can't say how Casandalee would react to an AI taking her name and likeness and becoming a goddess.

I really do resist trying to nail down alignment spreads and percentages in print for nations, since that tends to color things TOO much. I figure that by saying a nation's regional alignment (likely LN or N in Azlant's case) that says enough. There's probably equal numbers of good and evil Azlanti in the empire.

And there's not really any one module that would "fit well" into Kingmaker; they'd all need various levels of reworking.

1) Any villain can be interesting, given the right context and skilled enough writing to support he villain. The mad-scientist alchemist is a classic such case, and it's one we've actually already used several times. In fact... it's such a classic and well-used villain that there might NOT be much left for them to do. And that's a strength; you can use the mad scientist as a familiar trope; the players will swiftly understand the villain, allowing you to focus on other elements of his plot or personality that ARE new.

2) It could be.

3) Closely enough that they're all goblinoids. They're 3 different takes on the same idea, as suggested by the 3 alignments. Bugbears enjoy the respect and fear goblins give them.

Answer:

Spoiler:
Unity is all over, but he's focused inside of his big robot overlord AND in the computer core. He has fingers spread throughout the ship though. Unity's stunt is easier becasue he's been building it up for thousands of years. Casandalee is brand new to the task, and as such has more hoops to jump through.

The AI Casandalee does indeed consider herself different; she has no soul, and you COULD in theory bring back the original with resurrection if not so much time had passed. In any event, it's been long enough that the original Casandalee's soul has long ago been judged and transformed into an outsider or whatever and doesn't remember the world anymore.

Hi, James.

I've noticed the parallel themes of gluttony and undeath between the cult of Urgathoa and Runelord Zutha of Gastash in Thassilon. e.g. Sin magic of gluttony is the school of necromancy. The Runelord of Gluttony is undead. Urgathoan rites include debauched cannibalistic feats.

Is there a connection between Urgathoa and Thassilon? Was the Church of Urgathoa influential in Gastash? (i.e. did Runelord Zutha worship Urgathoa?) Was the living Urgathoa from Thassilon before her ascension?

Or, are gluttony and undeath just closely linked themes? The tales tell of the unquiet dead who have an insatiable hunger for the flesh (or blood or brains) of the living.

(I've decided what I want the connections to be in my world, and I am curious as to your view.)

Thanks!

Gluttony and undeath are closely linked themes. Look at things like ghouls and vampires, or how undead suck out the life of the living. Or pretty much any zombie movie.

More Urgathoa! :D

It's mentioned in her mythology that the Pallid Princess was once a mortal princess who, upon dying and finding herself in the Boneyard to be judged, denied Pharasma's right to judge her and fled, becoming the first undead to ever exist.

How long ago was this? Undead seem to be a part of the world for virtually all of recorded history, so... Azlanti? Pre-Azlanti? Elvish? Or...

One of your contributions to Occult Mysteries has a conspiracy theory about Aroden being one of the veiled masters (and that therefore, the Starstone and its scions are aboleth creations as well). Additionally, it's said that Desna, as one of the oldest deities (presumably Urgathoa is as well), originally had a form quite unlike the beautiful butterfly-elf we know and love. And denying a goddess's judgment would take both an epic force of will and a serious disdain for the gods. So...

Was Urgathoa actually an aboleth princess? (Or technically alghollthu.)

It was a LONG LONG LONG time ago. We haven't revealed how long ago, but at the very earliest, in the super early days of Azlant. And not necessarily FROM Azlant... or even from Golarion. She had no ties at all to the aboleths though.

James,

Apologies if you've already gotten this question, but it's in regards to the Simple Class Templates. If you add a spellcaster template, does the creature's ability modifier add additional spells to what's on the chart? For instance, does a creature with 21 Int and 13 HD have +1 5th level wizard spells?

@Matthew Shelton: Dunno why construct God would be that special since those already exists iirc...

Anyway, questions:

1) So do you guys have already planned out races for areas outside Inner Sea and Tian Xia?

Asking this since Paizo people often comment on new race questions with it being hard to introduce new races without making a retcon iirc.

2) Speaking of races, so from what I understand before introduction of Tian Xia, the Tian Xian races besides tengu,(kitsune, nagaji, wayang) weren't introduced in the setting right? So do those three races have any sort of presence in Inner Sea besides PCs?

3) So what other areas outside of Worldwound would be fitting for Mythic AP?(assuming Wrath of righteous wasn't THE Mythic ap)

4) If any of future APs uses mythic player rules, would they be like Wrath of Righteous and start with first part until they have reached rank 10 or could some of them introduce mythic ranks halfway/late game/in final part without reaching rank 10?

5) So if meteor aboleth summoned would have hit Golarion without those two gods sacrificing themselves, the whole golarion would have been destroyed? Thats kinda dumb of aboleths. How did they manage to summon huge asteroid that contained a great old one and a magic god rock without having a backup plan when it would actually hit the planet?

BTW, I kinda love that backstory since I love what if scenarios so I like to imagine what would have happened if it had never hit Golarion at all or had hit one of other planets :) So thanks for interesting setting history!

Hello James,

We are in a bit of a disagreement with my GM about the RAW explanation of "Make Whole" and "Mending" spells. Our druid went into wild shape and uh... well let's just say that a poor bandit was closer to the mouth of a large tiger then he would've liked.

After that critical bite(which took the guy out in one hit), our GM said that the masterwork armor he was wearing was ruined(destroyed). Me, being the party wizard said "ok, I can use the make whole spell to fix this armor later".

Now he is saying that mending/make whole cannot fix a destroyed mundane item (I did send him this link to your post http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2kn1b?Mending-Items but his opinion did not change) because "it does not say so in the spell description". Instead he is saying that these spells would only be able to repair destroyed magical items (since they are magical, they are tougher; he says)

I just don't understand how a spell that is powerful enough to restore a magical item from destruction AND return the magical properties to it; cannot restore a mundane item (that did not turn into dust)

Could you please tell me whether or not I should be able to repair the mwk armor with "make whole"?
