I don't mind either way, usually a week is considered a pretty long absence, and generally characters would be NPCed by the GM, but this isn't really somewhere that Syndessa's actions would be obvious. I'm happy with a slower paced game if you want to wait.

Yeah, it does. *Sigh*.
Okay, restarting the encounter this afternoon.
Sorry Uriel, I am Back...
Fenna was right, I was without Internet (well I had abysmally crappy Dial-up, but when it was taking 5 minutes+ to load a damn page it wasn't worth my sanity, sorry).Syndessa Shadestalker |
Muk's watch goes by without incident, and you turn-over to Syndessa around midnight.
Syndessa:You have been passing the time on guard duty for about a hour when a rustling and soft barking from the other side of the field catches your attention. Looking over, you spot five small humanoids digging in the radish patch. By their silhouettes, they stand about Muk's height and seem reptilian. They are "talking" to each other and are intent on digging for radishes, and don't seem to have noticed you or the party.

Syndessa silently draws her blade and slips back to the others, quietly attempting to wake Den. After his display of magic back at the Trading Post, she is certain that his Druidic Magic would be the best solution for this problem.

Syndessa c o c k s her head to the side and raises an eyebrow that Den probably can't see in the dark. "Why? she whispers back. "They are some kind of creature. We need not kill them if we don't have to, but we should restrain them for the moment until we can figure out what they are doing here."

This is the thread that your group is in, they haven't reached Ustalav yet, so you can still jump back in.
Den Sarment |
"Have they attacked us? No?"
Den slowly gets up and keeps his hands away from weapons. He spares a glance for his horse and then takes a little more time to see whatever it is that Syndessa cannot describe.
Also Den mentally prepares a light spell.
"Syndessa, perhaps you can calmly wake the others. If these creatures haven't attacked us yet then perhaps it will be safe to talk with them. Maybe they can help us find the bandits?"

Seems I'm forever trying to catch up to that PbP for one reason or another... Yikes!

I'm calling this one. Time of death: now.
Sorry guys. It was a noble experiment, but I guess I just don't have the feel for PbP. Too fast, everyone complained. Wait for people, wait forever.
At least we didn't get so far into the game that there were any spoilers, really.
Thanks to all who participated, and better luck next time!
