I've got one question. Where is Treantmonk's Guide to Rogues (Optimization)?Treantmonk, I loved your comments and observations on rangers, monks, druids, and wizards. Please do one for rogues.
Come on, everyone. Sign the petition. Ask Treantmonk put his brilliant mind to work on rogues.
I thought he had done one. Petition for Guide to _____ would be a better title. Now I will go to a corner and cry out of sadness.

I'd like to see one; I was excited about a PFS Rogue after looking at the increased # of guys hittable by sneak attack, but became a bit disillusioned once the numbers were put on paper. And it's harder than ever to get sneak attack with range, so the range rogue isn't much of an option. I'd love to pick up one; but I would need it to be "combat survivable", especially in PFS (though most DND really is 70-75% combat; it's hard to be the "Scout" since it eats up time on a one-on-one adventure for the scout, so you can't do much away from the party).

I would, but I wouldn't feel like I was doing it right unless I incorporated a rather expansive section concerning non-core options, and I don't have the time to use them. (That, and people who'd read the rogue guide and liked that section would be all frustrated that TM's guides skip non-core material)

I think to maximize utility to the most number of people it's useful to have guides that focus on builds and options available within the Pathfinder SRD. Many DMs play core-only games and/or don't want to track down OOP 3.5 material and convert it over to pathfinder.
I'm not saying that non-core material shouldn't be included but that they should be contained in an appendix (with references to the original material) so that people can hunt down the feats, PrCs, spells, equipment, etc if they want to incorporate them into their game.

Agreed and understood. Hence why I said "a rather expansive section concerning non-core options" meaning if and when I did it, it would just have a massive 'feat' section, it would have all the core stuff, and then after that it would have non-core stuff, including Non-core multi-classing and prestige classes, feats, non-core skills and skill tricks, published magic (including psionic) items, and, last and most controversially, custom magic items.
But as I said, I don't have the time right now. Regrettably, rogues happen to be one of my favorite classes.

I am the necromancer in question, so yeah, I'm sorry. You're right, Rogue talents are kind of mewh (Slow Reaction and Befuddling Strike are the only ones I really like). However, I toyed with the idea of a Half-Orc Rogue wielding a falchion and using a net to decrease his opponents' AC, with the +1/3 bonus on critical hit confirmation rolls favored class bonus, and I think something decent could come out of it.

Well I'm sure there are lots of very viable rogue builds possible. I too would like more rogue build guides (some do exist). Especially a review of stuff like Rogue Talents is important to me: which ones work, which are traps, and which ones are weird but interesting.
