I was looking at either a half-orc bard or a dwarven inquisitor...however, not sure if actually just a rogue might be a better idea for group makeup. I'll try and do a character and post this evening or tomorrow.
Ok, character's created. I decided on a half-orc rogue. I need to find a name and I'll post stats tomorrow.

Okay, here's my character idea. The last time I submitted an idea like this one, it was rejected. What would YOU say to this, Allan_Treebeard?
Armandia Just grew up in Galt, feeling disgusted at the bloodiness of her own nation. Persuaded by her friends that a certain group of rebels was the answer, Armandia put aside all else to train hard at the arts of war and to study the ways of her goddess, Iomedae. (Domains: Good and War) After hard fighting, Armandia helped her group to take over Galt. Eventually, she was recognized for her services and given a job working for the Cabinet of Skulls (the name of the government at the time.) Then another group of rebels revealed the Cabinet's secret evil activities, and overthrew it.
Armandia felt shattered. Had she devoted her life to replacing one corrupt government with another? Her faith faltered.
But of course, her spiritual crisis was not her most pressing problem. In Galt, the saying "I just work here" doesn't cut it. Armandia had to flee Isarn, and would undoubtedly have been caught and executed, but for a brave rescue managed by a group of Andorans. Led by a mysterious masked figure, this group managed to smuggle Armandia (along with several other Galtan fugitives) to Andoran, which otherwise would have refused these fugitives entry. Realizing that she needed to keep a low profile, Armandia kept clear of the big cities, and went to Darkmoon Vale, looking for a church of Iomedae in an effort to restore her faith.

My knee-jerk guess is that the DM couldn't see a level-1 character getting out of a Galt rebellion alive. I don't have the setting books either, though, I'm just going off what I've read from the Wiki.
That is true, i think, but she did have assistance from the other group of rebels. Plus, there are other ways to work it, a powerful friend (who she owes a favor to), divine favor/good luck on her side, etc.

I dont have a problem with it at all, why was it rejected last time?
The GM felt that the Galt revolution ended 40 years ago. To me, it seems that the revolution BEGAN 40 years ago, and hasn't ended yet. However, I figure that in a game, the GM is the official source of what the campaign world is like, so rather than argue, I designed a different character instead.
...the DM couldn't see a level-1 character getting out of a Galt rebellion alive...
That wasn't the reason, but...
...she did have assistance from the other group of rebels.
Exactly. I threw in the whole "Scarlet Pimpernel" bit for that very reason.
Anyhoo, here is the first draft of my PC. I may want to change it, particularly the equipment list, when I get the time.

Grn'nak and Armandia are both great. However Felmor has both a non-standard trait (drug addict) and a magic item (potion of CLW). I'm not too bothered about the trait however the magic item will have to go. Other than that though he's good.
We're just waiting for Jim Cirillo's character now and then thats it.

Ok fixed, I picked that trait just for a reason to be away from his home city, and I hope evrburning torch is not considered a magic item he he.

Wow. Putting this together was like giving birth. Britton Alaskan human ranger hailing from Falcon's Hollow is just about done. Almost fully statted out and background is done. You can find it in my profile. I normally DM and do not get to create characters too often so Alan if you want to check and make sure I haven't made any mistakes over the next day or two that would be great. Looking forward to playing with y'all.

Looks good to me so far. The dog is just a regular dog yeah? you can change it into your animal companion at lvl 4 when you get hunter's bond if you want. As its a hunting dog shall we say its trained in hunting, so it has those tricks. Just remember its not an animal companion so it takes a move action to handle it.
And with that we are all good to go! Its new years eve tomorrow and im sure everyones got lots of plans (Partay!!!) so first post will go up new years day (australian time). Speak to you all then and have a good new year.

ok guys (n possibly gals i dunno) just checking in to see how your finding everything so far. How dya like the pace? dya want me to speed it up to get to the action or is it alright how it is?
You might want to let people know you posted this in discussion on the play-by-post thread. I'm not sure everyone comes back to this thread.
Things are going fine from where I sit. The pace seems to be just right.
I was wondering where people are from just to see when the best times to post are. I live in the U.S. on the east coast so right now I'm posting a little after 10 AM on Monday Jan. 11. Allan, am I correct to assume you live in Australia? If so, I think you're about 16 hours ahead of me, give or take an hour.
