Let's translate this a bit... Everybody with me now! WOTC Company Picnic= Warehouse Rave Party= We won't be getting AOW Overload until September... We have to alott time for hangover recovery and puking and what not... Not too mention the copywright guys over at WOTC wizzing on their comp (that happens to have AOW OVerolaod in it) in a bit of tomfoolery. They should've just cut this off at the pass and said, "September guys! September!"

I say we storm WOTC HQ, snatch Overload, and hold it ransom! All right, who's with me?

Thor (I mean it hurths) wrote:

Arrrrr, I'm with you! Lessee: I'm in DC now, and I can probably make it to Redmond in, oh, a day and a half if I drive straight through.

Of course, by then, Overload will just come out the next day.

Ok, so don't wait on me -- storm 'em, and I'll get there as soon as I can to cover the withdrawal.

Remember though: pillage FIRST, and THEN burn. Some folks will always get that wrong, no matter how many times ya tell 'em...

Hey Eric, pester those WotC people into approving it already :-)

For once, I agree with Brian. If we are that close, please, please, please push them. Tell them "Trust me, 'Kay?" And use your best Guido voice.

For the love of all that is pure and good, please do not waste any time doing the email thing before posting overload on the site.

Takasi, you are so right. We don't need stinkin emails, we need uploads first!

I suppose there's no hope of the overload being posted tonight is there?

Oh sure. And pigs fly. Well, in D&D they might. But not here. We aren't going to see if before Friday. But, I'm cool. They worked hard on getting it out.

Stupid Wizards of the Coast. I'm never buying anything from them again.

Ooo, Stormwrack and the Explorer's Handbook are out.

I was impressed with the deck plans of the caravel, I'm definitely getting Stormwrack next week.

Guys:

Ooooooo. Something worth buying. Woo Hoo! Party Party.

Erik Mona wrote:

To be clear, I meant that the approval process could take as little as 10 minutes, not the actual posting of the file to the site.

The file is at WotC now, basically waiting for our contact to read the copyright information on the first page and give the thumbs up. I expect this to come first thing Friday morning, but since tomorrow is a company picnic day for WotC, it's possible that it could drag on to Monday.

Everything is ready to go. The minute we know, you'll know.

Erik:

You're teasin us now. We are going to implode from holding our breath:) Nah, you guys are doing great for so little time to pull it together. I will keep hoping and crossin my fingers.

Ric

Swim Party at WOTC = Build up = more posts = 600 posts. Hmm, is it a Will Wheaton plot? Or, are we just hoping beyond normal. Remember folks this equation:

Time for Book to be released from WOTC = 3 Dragon Magazine Ads + 9 Posts at WOTC website + lots of hype and frustrated gamers.

It is a fool proof equation.

Ric

I cant wait for it too come out, then see the new postin' board with the title "too much hype for what was in overload"!

Cuse if you can please 1/2 the people 1/2 the time your doin a fine job!

I'm with ya Thor. I'll bring the siege ladders.

I vote for Kyle to draw Dram, Tyralandi, Demon Boy, and the rest of the AoW playtest PCs enjoying a picnic / swim party in Diamond Lake - hosted by Smenk!

Just think... Allustan in a Hawaiian shirt, enjoying a kabob = priceless! ;-D

will there be monkies? I like monkies

I know, and it dosn't seems as though WotC has been doing things in a timely faashion

Ah, you mean like the City of Splendors: Waterdeep Web Enhancement, which is referenced in the Dungeon #124 online supplement (PDF), in the notes about converting Age of Worms/Whispering Cairn to a Forgotten Realms adventure path? Hmm. I want my CoS:W WE! (And the AoWO)

Kliqueman wrote:

I keep asking my boss to get some chimps for me to train to do my job 'cause it'd raise morale so much to be able to work with cute little chimpanzees. I even promised to deal with their diapers and feeding. It's like a little baby, but capable of doing work.

And I also want a minstrel troupe of midgets to follow me everywhere.

That and I want the Age of Worms Overload.

Now its a super teaser...

Geez people. What would you do if there wasn't a free supliment? Remember, this is just odds and ends that they couldn't fit in the magazines. It is not going to be earthshattering information. All of the most important stuff is already published, that is why this is going to be free. Slow your roll a little bit and remember that the best tool you have is your own brain and imagination.

Arran, think of it this way; it's one more thing shorten prep-time for DMs. Of course we could do with out it! Matter o' fact, we could do without the adventures, without the new classes, without the new gods, and just use the core rulebooks... but that would mean every time we wanted to try something different, we'd have to make it ourselves. I'd rather pay someone else to do that, which is why I'm subscribed to Dungeon in the first place. :)

I see you are here just the same.

Don't know about you, but it will shatter *my* earth. The campaign outline that is in Overload is vital to running Age of Worms properly, and I'm extremely interested in seeing Keith Baker's conversion notes as I'm running AoW in Eberron.

All in all, I'm looking forward to Overload more than I am to seeing the next adventure. To each his own, I suppose....

Well I've been awake now for about..umm..3 1/2 hours and I have checked this site 8 times...ahhh the torture....ahhh.

And those ahhhs are the Kulkin "home alone" kid ahhs...Down with the republic.....the Insanity of it all

Hey, not that long ago (on the order of minutes, in fact) they changed the download area to say "...any minute now... wait for it, wait for it."

They may be slow on this puppy, but you've gotta give 'em 10 out of 10 for style! ;-)

Woo hoo! We broke the Failed Wil Save post record!

Now we can post the Overload.

Kidding aside, it'll be up in the next half hour and the notification email to everyone on this thread will go out as soon as it's up.

Oh, I have a sense of humor. It is really funny how we are all salivating over a little bit of downloaded dungeons and dragons stuff. Like our lives depend on it or something. As someone earlier mentioned, I am here also.

It's here! In the immortal words of Bo and Luke Duke:

my dial up can't download it fast enough. thanks guys for getting it out.

I'm here and salivating only because:

1) I don't feel like doing any work today, since I start my vacation one the day is up. If I have to reset ANOTHER USER'S FECKIN' PASSWORD, someone will die a gruesome death involving a chair, rope, cold wet spaghetti, and repetitive cycling of Kelly Clarkson's latest CD.

2) My life DOES depend upon downloaded D&D stuff -- oh yes, yes it does. I am a content junkie, a PDF crack addict.

1.1 of 2.8 mb downloaded at 1.1 kb/sec -- and I am on a T-1. D@y@mn, the Paizo servers are getting slammed. Gee, I can't imagine why. :-)

Maybe we should post on Slashdot that the Overload is available -- that'll kill a RAID array or two :-)

Wow, this is an awesome document. Thanks, Dungeon. It was well worth the wait. This is really going to give life to an already fantastic campaign. This is the kind of detail and additional material I love to use to bring a campaign vivid contrst and rich depth. Teriffic work to all involved. All of this reminds me of the super modules of the 1980s. Awesome.

Happy gaming.

It's like sucking mud through a straw (except instead of mud, it's sweet, sweet Overload). Next, I have to spend time actually reading it. Isn't there a way I can plug a USB cord into my skull and download it dirctly into my brain? Neo could do it....

I wonder exactly how many people are trying to download from the server at the same time.

I'm guessing... three. Bad things happen in threes, so they say.

There are exactly three ways to pronounce Drow, for example. And although there are Four Horsemen of the Apocaplyse, only three of them are very scary. And my friend once fell out of a three once (he had a lisp) and broke his arm.

And that was three pretty bad examples, as well. Hmmm. Coincidence? I think not.

The last 200k of the file took longer than the first 2.5M for me, go figure. The magic of the internet!

This thread should shoot for 67 more posts...

did I make 600? :) Woohoo! I did I did! whahahahhah.... snuck in there at the last minute and swooooop! Thanks for the .pdf..... anyone else notice the site got brought to it's knees?
