Senden wrote: My group travels through the Dourstone mine and has a glorious victory against Theldrick. Now they have found the informations about Kyuss in the two handouts.
The cleric of the group asked about a knowledge check for Kyuss. Now I realize that their are many tables for knowledge checks in the AoW and some are in Dragon (about the Spawn of Kyuss), but their are no table for mighty Kyuss.
So what can you find out about Kyuss with Knowledge (Religion)?
Please excuse my bad english, but I'm not a native speaker.
Senden,
I agree. Folks at Paizo, can you focus an upcoming Dragon artical on Kyuss and his history? I would like that versus waiting on the final Dungeon module to do so. In my campaign, Kyuss is a forgotten part of the gods and godess patheon. They erased part of the world's history book, and he was part of the section erased. So, I want to give them tease clues about him, his power, his followers. I know you gave a snap shot in Dungeon 130. But, we need more:)

Guys:
I have been trying to come up with a good map for MagePoint. I have changed the name of the city to Mageport in my campaign. But, I would love to have a good pic of Manzorian's keep and the village. I can draw one of my own, but it lacks the art oompf. Do you have any plans on doing one? I know that you guys will do one for the hardbound compilation, just like you did with Cauldron. Let me know.

Averil wrote: This has been buging me for a while, and I just think Spawn of Kyuss would make more sense as a template. As is, a first level character who turns into a spawnof Kyuss is just as powerful as a 20th level character. Averil:
I have come up with one. I can send it to you if you like. Anyone can email me at ric_mohri@yahoo.com for it.

Guys, thanks for designing two great large adventure paths! As a DM, you make my job more fun. We are running the Age of Worms Path and my players love it! They just finished Icosiol's tomb. Please, Please, Please design more and more multipart paths! This is the best set of ideas you have had. I love the fact that it keeps me buying both the Dungeon and the Dragon Mags. So, keep up the good writing.!

Holy Crud! Did everyone see the new Dungeon Mag? Well, there will be many more deaths along the way. Including with Dragotha. Good hunting!
Three Faces of Evil:
PC Name: Erimor 5th Level Barbarian
Adventure: Three Faces of Evil
Location of Death: Temple of Erythnul
Catalyst: Barbarian on a Ledge
3 Other lost in the next 3 modules. Not bad so far.
Craig Shannon wrote: Lord Vile: Thanks for that, I hadn't actually considered old Dragons. Doh! Typing in "Dragotha" in the Dragon Archive Compilation might prove informative :)
James & Erik: Thanks for teh prompt responses, I am sure you'll squash any continuity bugs and stop any inconsistencies :) Dragotha changing sex, eh? Sounds a bit like Hookface. Sorry couldn't resist :) It does suggest Tiamat is bisexual though :)
Yamo: True, but the way you say it makes it seem like Dragotha, International Dragon of Mystery. I wonder if Jaguar would ever build an E-type big enough for a dragon to drive. Then again there is always polymorph self :) Yeah baby, yeah.
Erik:
Why not just redo Dragotha's stats either in the next Dragon or in the next Dungeon issue? Add them in the appendix with a short revised blurb about his origins. I know the Overload helps to flesh him out a lot. But, this way everyone has the revised idea on him.

Wow, morbid endings. I have an interesting party:
They started at 3rd (I always do this with all my players, to give them experience for growing up in a harsh world).
They are:
1. Tiefling Barbarian/Rogue CN
2. Wizard/Transmuter NG
3. Elf Ranger who ran with dwarves (kinda surly sort)CG
4. Half Human (orc) LG Cleric
5. Human Monk/Wilder LN
6. Elf Fighter - N
7. Halfling Bard (CN) NPC
So far, they had the Tiefling go below Zero HP against the Wind Warriors and several of the traps hurt them. However, I decide to change and spice things up. There is an equally evil party of 4 Seekers in Diamond Lake watching their progress (A warlock, Duergar SoulKnife, Gnome Cleric/Thrall of Orcus, and a Half Orc Fighter). That keeps the party on their toes. My goal is not to kill them at any point. There are times I have to adjust the minions in the Whispering Cairn and I know I will with the Triad.
However, I play to take Erik's advice and a lair below the Ebon Aspect well. I am making it Vecna's original laboratory. This will keep them spinning and wondering. But, my advice to any who are killing their players: Either start them at 3rd level (that way less die) or adjust the encounters to allow for them to live. Don't have the baddies kill them outright. I liked the DM above who kept them to be sacrificed and them had a spy in the cult free them.
So, those are my thoughts and how I am adjusting it. What I love about the Dungeon modules is they give you most of what you need for a great adventure. Then, as a DM, I can add in my own twists and turns to spice things up.

Royster wrote: I guess if it were me, in regards to Takasi’s initial question, I would have Allustan scribe a few scrolls for the party, not for free of course, T-Bones comments fit in well here. But I would use the encounter as a means to have Allustan learn more about what the party is up too. Why do they need these particular spells, or what for? He wouldn’t want the party using them for evil purposes. Perhaps he could give them some new information (I don’t know what stage your adventure is at) regarding if not WC then 3FOE, maybe info on Dourstone or Smenk to help gain their trust.
Guys,
Here are my thoughts and how I play Allustan (as a DM). It mentions in the Whispering Cairn that he has an extensive library that he lets people in the village read for 20 gp. So, I would think that he would also mentor the PC wizards for a fee. He is high enough level to scribe scrolls. And, he probaly has a huge arcane library to match his other. So, charge them 50 gp per day if they want to see his spell research (for their own spell book and adding spells). I would allow them to buy scrolls, but add in 10% more than normal, as he is neutral, living in a town filled with greed and averice. That way he is still a "good guy" in a sense, but more to his neutral align. Just a thought.
Ric
In response to Qbert’s comments, I plan to run Allustan as leaning more to the good side of neutrality. He did run with Tenser after all, who was LG and a member of the Circle of Eight, a group that worked to hold things at the least in balance, across the Flaneass, if not to root out and stomp evil. Allustan may not work to spread “goodness” across the land, but he is concerned for others as is shown by his returning to Diamond Lake in EaBK to gather the town garrison to prevent the invasion of the keep by lizardfolk, defenently a good act. Therefore I see no reason why he wouldn’t be willing to “lecture the PCs on the responsibilities that come from wielding magic and the duty of the powerful to protect the weak” as T-Bone suggested
Erik,
First, I want to thank you for the overload. This helps me to know the overall path of the adventure. However, I have two major questions/holes I need filled in:
1. The Seekers - You throw them in during the first adventure. However, little is known for the DM. I would like to ask if you could take a dragon article and flesh them out for me. I am using them in my own world (of my creation). I made them part of a 4 nation conspiracy to seek artifacts of the past for their own evil ends. However, I would love to have more of your folks take on them.
2. The Ebon Triad. Geez, that is a cryptic one two. And, you introduced them in Cauldron and here. That causes some slight confusion if I decide to throw my players into Cauldron later. Are we going to see more of their influence threaded into the upcoming adventures? I would like to request that. I understand Dragotha and the vampiress are key players in their org. However, I would love to see their followers appear in every module. That way they become the hated baddies. And, you could throw the seekers in there as their evil rivals. That would put the party in between the two evils. Fun huh?
Ah well, could you help on this.
And, PS, one thing. You guys left a few of the people in Diamond Lake out of the overload. I looked for the stats on several of the shop keepers and they weren't in there. Are you going to have those in later issues?
Thanks again.

Swim Party at WOTC = Build up = more posts = 600 posts. Hmm, is it a Will Wheaton plot? Or, are we just hoping beyond normal. Remember folks this equation:
Time for Book to be released from WOTC = 3 Dragon Magazine Ads + 9 Posts at WOTC website + lots of hype and frustrated gamers.
It is a fool proof equation.

Erik Mona wrote: To be clear, I meant that the approval process could take as little as 10 minutes, not the actual posting of the file to the site.
The file is at WotC now, basically waiting for our contact to read the copyright information on the first page and give the thumbs up. I expect this to come first thing Friday morning, but since tomorrow is a company picnic day for WotC, it's possible that it could drag on to Monday.
Everything is ready to go. The minute we know, you'll know.

You're teasin us now. We are going to implode from holding our breath:) Nah, you guys are doing great for so little time to pull it together. I will keep hoping and crossin my fingers.

Ooooooo. Something worth buying. Woo Hoo! Party Party.

For once, I agree with Brian. If we are that close, please, please, please push them. Tell them "Trust me, 'Kay?" And use your best Guido voice.
Where is Kyuss's stats mentioned? And weren't their monsters called "Sons of Kyuss?" If so, where can I find an adaptation for D&D 3.5?
Neomorte wrote: Geez, I am glad this thread has calmed down. I would not be surprised if the Dungeon gang were in full body casts after all this... :)
I eagerly await the release of AoW Overload, but I am still running Shackled City, so I am patient for its arrival.
Now I do have a minor issue. I have purchased issue #124 so that I could hop in on the Age of Worms fun and I did not have a poster map that was to be included. What can I do about this?
Is there a particular person that I should contact?
Neomorte, You are too funny about the calming down. We all may just give each other a big gamers hug (NOT!).
Ric
Now, if you will excuse me, I have to call my FLGS and find out why the Shackled City hardcover I ordered a month ago is still not in my hands. :(

Hee. Hee. Hee. It is the thread that never dies! Maybe an "Undead Thread?" Ouch. I know, bad pun.
Erik, I am glad to see this. I have been patiently waiting, knowing this is a hard one to get out. My gaming session is this weekend for the "Three Faces of Evil" module. So, I welcome a Friday release. Whooo. How many pages are we looking at to print? Will it be a book sized print?
Why do I get the feeling that this will be your second large module book soon to be released in the future (Like The Shackled City one). Hmm. Maybe I should market or going into sales for your group. I have spent 11 years in technical sales as a regional sales guy. This would be a dream job:)
Ah well, I digress. Thanks again for all the efforts! Keep up the good work!
Erik Mona wrote: Last night I (finally) completed the complete campaign outline section of the Overload document, which was the main thing holding up the release of Age of Worms Overload. I need to spend about four more hours on it writing up the Cairn Hills and the Cult of the Green Lady, and from there it goes to our fine layout people, who will make it pretty. From there it goes to Wizards of the Coast for a quick look-see approval, and then to you guys.
I apologize again for the delay. Things have been crazy lately, and I've been working as fast as I can. I will keep everyone updated on where we stand as we churn through the various remaining parts until it's in your hands.
Thanks again for everyone's patience.

Erik:
For those of us who have waited very patiently "wink Wink", thanks so very very much. I now will have some material to work with. I have a party of six players in there and they like it a lot so far. Thanks for all the hard work during a very busy time:)
Well, Editor Erik, so goes getting out the Shackled City and this. And the Dungeon issue. Deadlines, deadlines...Hahahaha. I know you have your plate full to the brim. You know us DMs. We want you to snap you fingers and "Presto" the Overload appears. Thanks for being so patient with us and all our eccentricities!

Just wanted to say, thanks for all of the effort! Stuff like this keeps me buying the magazine. Great support from you guys.
Skylark, I raise a mug to you! You took the word right out of my mouth. I agree. Erik, thanks for all you hard work as Editor. You have a thankless job I see. But, know, even when we gripe, we like what you are doing.
And Dreeya, kudos for being a female gamer. There should be more like you:)

It is what makes them so much fun to game master (DM).
I like the Shackled City idea. I like to see more of the City and dungeon crawls mixed. But, some ocean adventures or adventure paths leading to multiple cities are fun as well.
What would be really cool is to come up with a Neverwinter series of adventures. I love the game. And, the adventures and add ons have been really well done. Could you do a Neverwinter Adventure series?
Let me know!
Ric
Mr. Jacobs,
You have to know that a lot of gamers can be like the kid in the toystore. They want the new things NOW! Hee Hee. And, I find about 45% of the gamers are arrogant and thinks the world revolves around them (sorry if I offend any of you). I know you are doing your best. Let it be known, many of us appreciate the time and efforts your staff puts into the Dungeon Magazines. You make our DM lives easier by it:)
Can I throw a suggestion in (please take it or leave it as you wish). I like most of the modules you put into the mags. However, I am not too impressed with the "quickie" adventures. They leave some to be desired. Please continue the Cauldron style, AoW style, and the others like them. Those show the talent of the team:)
Thanks again!
Ric
Wow. Such heated comments and fun comments. I have been using the first of the modules with my players and it was a hit! I did some mods too it for my campaign (a stand alone world I created). I can't wait until you release the free info:) Would we find it in the downloads or will you announce it on the front of the piazo web site?
Also, how many modules are you going to create for this series? Will it be around the same as Cauldron?
Let me know. Thanks for all the great work!
