Sweet! Ordered! Now I am going to have a nice deluxe edition core set. Very glad they chose to make the core set all available in Limited Edition.

Will the cover be brown like in the picture or will it match the Deluxe Core Rulebook?

I very much hope so. I would love to have a complete matching book set of all the 2nd edition books over the coming years.

Katina, is it just the Deluxe addition, or the GMG, in general? Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up David!

Just out of curiosity, following up on the color question. Will this be a matching red to the launch books, or will it look different? Not a deciding feature, just wondering.

Shadow Lodge

Anybody know when the final design pictures of the Core book special editions were posted? Like how far in advance of their release dates.

This is a question I've been pondering, too; it'd be nice to know if it's going to be brown (as it is in the rendered picture) or some shade of red to match my CRB and Bestiary? It'd be nice to know, because for me it is a deciding feature.

The Art Team is working on revised mock-up covers but all the SE books in our PF2 RPG line will have similar cover treatments.

All will get gold foil debossing on a similarly colored faux-leather style material. Unfortunately the cover material for the GMG and later products will be slightly different than that of the Core RPG and B1 releases (as that particular shade of cover material was discontinued and we've had to match it as best we could). Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, Jeff! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the faux-leather covers and gold foil, and I'm very happy with my Special Edition Core Rulebook and Bestiary. I just prefer shades of red and blue to (lighter shades) of brown (for example, dark brown or reddish brown would be fine by me). However, I know these preview images don't necessarily match the exact shade in the final product; I'll pre-order this SE version at my FLGS and check it out. :)

Hi Jeff.

Can you share anything about Paizo’s current thinking regarding reprinting the evergreen products that had Special Editions at launch?

I’d love to buy a copy of the CRB and Bestiary that matched the later SE releases (in a few years, subject to selling out initial stock and so on).

Hey Steve, we have no plans to ever reprint any of the SE books and I thought we'd been pretty open about that fact. Not only do I think it is disingenuous to those that purchase the SE books upon release but also we'd never get to a large enough reprint quantity to bring our COGs down to a reasonable level. That's why we take a decent stand on the printings the first time around.

Oh yeah you were.

I wondered if the introduction of a subscription option meant that the thinking on these had changed - that maybe there was demand to treat each as separate lines. (I take your point about the “special edition” moniker being disingenuous, I just personally discount the “special” on anything with more than a thousand copies).

Cheers

And that's why we don't use the term "Limited" edition. ;)

Gotcha.

Jeff, if that updated image is what the book will look like, it's gorgeous! I couldn't even tell the shade is different from the one used in the covers of Core Rulebook and Bestiary. :)
