Bow Down in Fear!

Monsters have long stalked us in the darkness. Within this book, you’ll find a host of these creatures for use in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Face off against archdevils and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, planar dragons and the legendary wild hunt, proteans and psychopomps, and hundreds more! Some creatures, such as the capricious taniwha, the mysterious green man, or the powerful empyreal lords, might even be willing to provide your heroes aid—if they deserve it!

Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 6 is the sixth must-have volume of monsters for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and serves as a companion to the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook and Pathfinder RPG Bestiary. This imaginative tabletop game builds upon more than 10 years of system development and an open playtest featuring more than 50,000 gamers to create a cutting-edge RPG experience that brings the all-time best-selling set of fantasy rules into a new era.

  • Appendices to help you find the right monster, including lists by Challenge Rating, monster type, and habitat.
  • Expanded universal monster rules to simplify combat.

And i thought i didn't need this one!

5/5

I had thought when Bestiary 6 came out I wouldn't need it.

How wrong was I!

This book will definitely take it's place as one of the essential Pathfinder books in my collection, if you're waiting to get this, don't! Get it now!

Well done Paizo!

My one complaint is mine had the same s%~&ty yellow binding glue as the first printing of the Starfinder CRB, but I'm not dropping the rating because it is that good (also I still have binding glue leftover from my Starfinder CRB).

A solid addition

4/5

So Bestiary 5 was a bit disappointing to me, but this one is something that did something with Pathfinder I haven't seen in a while: gave me ideas that I wanted to use. A lot of the monsters presented are honestly interesting. As usual, there are some reprints from other products, but I always favor having consolidated lists of things. I won't use everything, but there is enough here that I'll be using a good chunk.

Also, the weremantis reminded me how much I love Portal, so I have to give it to them there.

Upward Trend

5/5

A wide variety of creatures with overall high quality artwork. I like the inclusion of the numerous high CR creatures.

Bestiary 5 and 6 have been my favorite Bestiary books by far.

Unusable

1/5

So me and two other guys from my gaming group ordered this book from amazon. WOW, all of us have missing and or scrambled pages.

I have over 17 missing pages (most of the archdevils content)and more or less 20 pages out of order. I don't know if they are sending all the "special" books down here, but I can assure you I will never buy a physical book from Paizo anymore.

Those robots have been built...and they were delicious;)

Now I imagined a bronze dragon fighting robot-raptors with his bite attacks, in a jurassic park style, while a clockwork mage technomancer laughs euphorically...

Now with the announcement of Book of the Damned Hardcover, It would be useful if Demon Lords were indeed among the demigods in Bestiary 6. We will have stats for all the Four Horsemen and all the Archdevils, so why wouldn't they include some of the remaining major Demon Lords as well? That would be a good set of foes to use with the upcoming BotD Hardcover.

Actually with the announcement of the hardcover book of the damned I hope they just put their stats in that book to save room for other stuff in B6.

Unfortunately I'm sure there are far too many demon lords remaining to put them all in one book, even if we are exclusively talking about the major ones. I was surprised that 16 pages of Bestiary 6 are going to be dedicated to the Archdevils, and indeed I wouldn't like to have another 10 pages dedicated to Demon Lords' stat blocks alone in either of the books.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I can say with some authority that there are a lot of demon lords in Pathfinder. Even if there were several in both books, I doubt we would still have anywhere close to the full set.

Indeed... ^-^'

But if we were to mention only the "major" Demon Lords, we already have stat blocks for a great number of them. The exceptions are Abraxas, Angazhan, Cyth-V'sug, Gogunta, Socothbenoth and Zura.

So, I was a good little ambassador and decided to read the whole forum scanning for "this is in the book" quotes.
Here is my list of what is in (that I know of), based on this discussion, the product description, and the Bestiary 6 art post.
1. Archdevil, Baalzebul
2. Archdevil, Barbatos
3. Archdevil, Belial
4. Archdevil, Dispater
5. Archdevil, Geryon
6. Archdevil, Mammon
7. Archdevil, Mephistopheles
8. Archdevil, Moloch
9. Benchak the Stalker's hitherto unnamed monster that he's excited about
10. Chesire Cat/Nekomata/Bakeneko (one of the Three. Personally hoping for C, I've been Practicing my Pooh/Kaa Voice since I found out he might be in. *Wink, Wink*).
11. Conqueror Worm
12. Demon, Oolioddroo
13. Dragon, 1
14. Dragon, 2
15. Dragon, 3
16. Dragon, 4
17. Dragon, 5
18. Elder Worm
19. Empyreal Lord, Arshea
20. Empyreal Lord, Black butterfly
21. Empyreal Lord, Ragathiel
22. Entothrope
23. Giant, Mongrel
24. Giant, Shadow
25. Giant, Tomb
26. Great Old One, ??? (One Lovecraft made, so Rhan-Tegoth or Yig)
27. Great Old One, ??? (One typically considered an Outer god, So maybe Yig or Nhimbaloth. Or Chaugnar, If I get really Lucky and My wish is granted [very Unlikely though...stinkin Product Identity, I like my favorite Vampire Elephant])
28. Great Old One, ??? (Orgesh or Mhar)
29. Green Man
30. Hivemind Swarm
31. Horseman, Appollyon
32. Horseman, Charon
33. Horseman, Szuriel
34. Horseman, Trelmarixian
35. Kaiju, Varklops
36. Kaiju, Vorgozen
37. Kaiju, Yarthoon
38. Krampus
39. Living Statues (haunted by Dead Gods)
40. Mockingfey
41. Monkey Goblin
42. Munavri
43. Naiad
44. One Tome of Horrors Monster (I hope its the Gorbel, but that's just me)
45. Protean, Pelagastr
46. Strangely Sentient Ooze (strange is just used for Consonance, because the almighty James 47. says so [Hopes sarcasm is obvious])
48. The Horla
49. Whisperer (the Willows)
50. Wild Hunt
51. Yaddithian

Aside from the Named Creatures, there are several that were mentioned, but not named (quite frustrating, but I'll get over it)
-Constructs (your guess is as good as mine)
-Old School Dungeons and Dragons Monsters (Based on the words Old School, I'm thinking OD&D: fingers crossed for Carrion Crawler, Floating Eyes, and Grab Grass)
-Psychopomps (may haps some reprints, since Ahmuuth, Ember Weaver, Esobok, Kere, Memitim, Shoki, Viduus are all in Inner Sea Bestiary, Inner Sea Gods, or the AP Line)
-Qlippoth (a lot of people say that they've been confirmed, so I'll say maybe reprints, like Gongorinan and Thognorok)
-Todd Stewart Monsters (New ones)

Basically, we know just about 51 of the 233? monsters. Roughly 21 Percent of the Creatures.
let me know if I missed any other Creatures that were confirmed. On the great Old Ones, That is simply an Educated Guess, as I am certain some of you will ask where I got that Info, I didn't, i just think that's what's likely, (either that or I'm totally wrong and James can say something cryptic about how it's sort of like an avatar of Nyarlathotep, but not... maybe a manifestation of good old Shub-Niggurath? OR, why not look and see if any of the Outer Gods in Strange Aeons have less than five Domains! While we're at it, we can check the Inner Sea Gods, and see who might be included based on the lack of a fifth domain as well. Sherlock Powers, Activate!)

On a Separate Note, I really hope that there are no Demon Lords in it. I would prefer they allow us the privilege of getting to know Demigods from some of other groups, like Qlippoth lords, Quasi-Dities, and *Cough, Cough* Our Protean Overlords or Primal Chaos (since there's seven of them, we could call them the "Seven Gods of Chaos" *Cough, Cough... Ogdru Jahad*...)

Thank you for the great list, your research is much appreciated!

Book of the Damned will have info on harbingers, kyton demagogues, sahkil tormentors, rakshasa immortals, oni daimyo and stats for Queens of the Night, Ahriman, Asuras...
But no stats for Demon Lords, so we might get some in here...

There are about 50 Demon Lords mentioned by name in Pathfinder...

I think we know way more about the roster of this book than we did B5 before it came out.

Thanks for the list! That will come in hand while we are getting the previews. However, with your excuse, I would like to point out that:

The "18. Elder Worm" is actually the Elder Wyrm, the two headed CR 21-25 dragon - probably Mythic as well.

The "47.Strangely Sentient Ooze" should actually be in the plural, for they are a group of 4-5(?) considerable high CR oozes. And that also increases the number of creatures we know to 54-55(?).

How many pages do we presumably already have with the monsters we know? I would guess we are close to one hundred pages already.

I'm not sure how I should feel about a grouping of monsters diffusely described with just my name, not that I'm known for any particular sort of monsters or anything. Of course not. I had fun and I can't wait to be able to talk about them. :)

Keep shamelessly begging Paizo for a protean book on my behalf (because I would never stoop to that level...), that's all I ask. ;)

So your monsters are a specific group, I hope they are something other then outsiders.

I would like a protean/maelstrom book:)

(Or undeath, as it were.)

Ooh, more of Zura or Kabriri would be very welcome!

I'd love to see more about Zura, as well as Lorcan and Ruithvein...

Krampus is so cool, CR 21 and pretty deadly. Nice background it has, too.

I'm just wondering how close to the original legends the Rougarou will tend. I'd be amused to see Cajun/Creole wolf-people as a race in the game.

It's close to certain that they won't refer to nations of the setting in a bestiary, but maybe in a campaign setting book.

So we'll have to wait for Rougarou of Golarion to get the full information? Or, y'know, just make something up.

I'm sure that's quite an "unique" opinion you got there, my bronze cousin. I myself am already imagining this cover as a poster in my room. XD

But I can get your point. Sure we already knew that this demigods would be in the bestiary, but I'm sure this cover is more than enough to make anyone grab the bestiary, just for the cover quality, and that's the point of this amazing illustration.

And also, look at the blog post, we are getting previews next week, so we are going to star getting inside this book.

Huh... so that's what Charon looks like now?

That's... surprising. Cool cover, but I thought we'd get a more diverse cover with a bigger content range like B4 & 5. As it stands this admittedly awesome cover looks like what we'd get for the Book of the Damned hardcover or a bestiary more focused on outsiders than any other.

Kind of surprised there's no Krampus on it lol.
