I got mine last week, and I geeked out pretty hard over them. I love the detail work put into the paint. Kyra's cloak was particularly well done. Even if the print on it is some kind of stamp, it's still head and shoulders above 99.9% of the DDM minis I have.
I got mine today. These are easily the best looking PPMs I have ever seen. Well done.
I used to love the cardboard inserts that, for a time, came with certain issues of Dragon or Dungeon. A sheet full of pogs! I'd look forward to getting more of them.
Then DDM came out, and I forgot about them, because I enjoyed the pre-painted minis so much more!
That is until today, and I read this thread.
Now I feel like searching through storage boxes to find the pogs, tear them to pieces, light them on fire, and flush them down the toilet.
Boy, am I excited about Pathfinder minis!
The WizKids guys are supportive of our relationship with Reaper, and the Reaper guys are supportive of our relationship with WizKids. They understand that different customers are looking for different things. There's some crossover, to everyone's benefit.

Much as I love painted metal minis, I don't and will never have time for them, so I don't purchase them.
There's plenty of people out there who are the opposite.
This is a good thing, and I applaud the entry to the market.
Oh, and mine showed up yesterday. They look awesome.

Got mine this week and they were the hit of the game table. Most of the players in my group paint metal minis (a skill I am deficient in), and they were blown away with the detail on these minis. They asked if the minis had been hand painted.

The level of detail on these four is way beyond anything I've seen in the DDM line. The paint application is especially high-quality. While I agree that the faces are relatively flat and featureless, they're in no way deformed, mashed, or disfigured, which was a common problem with some DDMs.
Eric or Vic made a neat revelation on another thread that Wizkids can vary the stiffness of the plastic over different parts of the mold. This was put to great effect with the point bits like the sword/knife-points and Valeros' bow. They bend somewhat... almost but not quite as much as a DDM. They should hold shape better, but they're not in danger of snapping off in a bag of minis.
The molds' consistency and sharpness is very impressive. There's just a lot of 3D texture and detail present. The injection process QC is excellent. I've seen lots of DDMs where it seemed the plastic didn't fill the mold, leaving details spotty or having tiny chunks missing. These don't suffer from that at all.
I have to once again mention the paint application. Fan-freaking-tastic. I'm sure someone could do this by hand. But they shouldn't. People have been complaining about the price of the Heroes & Monster set when bought at per-mini pricing. I humbly submit that if the end-product quality is like these, the price is worth it. The price-per-mini with a subscription for a case... unquestionably worth it. I'm totally jazzed about this product line whereas I was previously only mostly jazzed.
I received mine a couple days ago, and there's really nothing I can add that hasn't already been said. For PPM standards, the amount of paint steps involved on these minis is incredibly high. Kyra has so much detail that I am completely confused as to how they can offer these miniatures for so cheap. Generally, more than 3 paint steps sends the production costs quite high. Most of these minis have at least double that or more.
These are the iconics though, so I certainly don't expect that the whole Battles line will have the same amount of paint steps per mini.
Like so many others before me have commented, I really wish they would get rid of the feet pads.
Anyone who complains about the price of the iconics set clearly is complaining for the sake of complaining. No one can rationally complain about the cost, given the paint quality that exists. At the present cost, I'm not even sure how Paizo's making any money off the set. (Of course, please don't take this comment as justification for doubling the price :)
Received mine yesterday.
Absolutely amazing for PPPM! The amount of detail is stunning. The faces are a little bland, but at this scale it's understandable (way better than DDM or Heroclix) and hardly noticable while playing. Although Wizkids managed to do some better faces with heroclix, the quality there varies greatly.
My only complaint: the ugly black "blobs" under the feet, but this again is a Wizkids thing (Heroclix suffers the same problem, but those bases are bigger and more "crowded" so it doens't bother that much).
Positive point: the "blobs" make it easier to rebase them!
BUT: good job! WAY better than DDM. Looking forward to the big sets...
I finally got mine today. It's funny, I'm only a 3 hour drive from Paizo's headquarter's, just over the border, but the shipping (due to customs delays) is unbearable sometimes. Oh well, "c'est la vie!"
Anyways, these look fantastic! Awesome job on these, all around. Great sculpts and paint jobs. There is no doubt that these are the finest pre-painted minis, period.
As some have said the eyes are a little small, though it really isn't that much of an issue - nothing that a fine point Sharpie won't take care of!
What sticks out more to me, is Ezren's right arm. Is it me, or does it look disproportionately smaller? I don't know, but it feels that way to me. Again, not really a big deal, but just an observation.
As for the plastic "blobs", they don't bother me at all. I understand perfectly why they are there, and I don't feel that they get in the way at all.
One thing that I am really loving is the bases these are on. Finally, somebody got it right! Bases that are solid, and aren't going to curl up and get warped. +20 right there!
All in all, I am super happy with these and can't wait until the rest come out. Way to go Paizo!

The minis look great! My gaming group is very anxious to use these on the tabletop next year.
I have a question about the standard bases sizes of future releases. Does anyone know what the base sizes will be for small, large, huge, colossal, etc? The reason I am asking is because I prefer to glue a magnetic strip in the base to add a little weight & stickiness for our gaming surface.
The first four minis were released on 1" standard bases which were a perfect fit for Alea Tool's 13/16" medium conversion circles—i.e, the circle fits flush under the bottom lip of the base. I contacted Alea Tools to inquire if they plan to offer similar conversion circles for the other Pathfinder base sizes so I hope to hear back from them soon. In the meantime does anyone know about the bases sizes or other companies offering similar precut magnetic circles?

Now, I'm not saying we won't do die-cut cardboard counters of some kind. We already did in the Beginner Box, and they've been very popular. Why would we take all of that positive feedback and flatten, shrink, and zoom in the images to make an uglier, less-useful product that is more or less identical to the kind made by our biggest direct competitor?
Yes, please more of the BB-style pawns! Of course the pre-painted minis will be great for collecting up over time but the option of buying a complete set of pawns for each AP and module would be terrific!! Always nice to put a pretty face with each bad guy . . .

They'll be very similar to the D&D Minis bases, at least up to Huge. We don't have anything Colossal in the works yet, and we'll probably want to discuss round vs. square bases with WizKids when we do.

I guess my experience has been the opposite, where the square base kicks out into extra squares where it isn't. While where the round base covers or partial covers a square, that's where the beasty is.

I just picked up this pack from my FLGS today. (He's got a 20% off all games and gaming supplies sale through the new year so I'll more than likely be back for a book or two. Which is a digression, but for a purpose. I actually got this set with tax included for less than $12. I was stoked, then I opened the package...) These minis are, in my estimation waaaaay better than many of the PPMs I've gotten from other distributors. They are much more detailed, the plastic is more rigid, so Kyra's sword doesn't flop over, and Ezren's staff stays right where it should. Also, the detail of the painting is amazing. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of this line of PPMs from Paizo and Wizkids.
Bought these minis over the holiday and I have to say that the detail on them are very good for plastic.
My only complaint is that the packaging that they come in is very wasteful for just 4 minis and the plastic packaging that they come in isn't accepted by most recycling places since it is a #3, not a #1 or #2.
I just got my set of these today and they are terrific. I am definitely buying some of the boosters after getting these.

Had them for a while now and yes I am incredibly impressed with the quality and paint detail - these areby far the best prepainted I have seen. An ink wash here or there and you have the best PPM yet. The hard bases are a real boon and will be a great additon in the heroes and monster sets - no more rocking, warped minis! This line, combined with the standees (pawns) mean all my mini wishes are slowing becoming fulfilled. Yay paizo
I know I am late to the party here, but I picked up the set yesterday. I like these very much. The detail on some of the cloaks is wonderful.
I am curious if other iconics will become prepainted minis as well?
Seoni and Harsk are in the Rise of the Runelords set. I believe they've said they intend to sprinkle the iconics through the sets as they go and hopefully get a mini made of all of them.

Not quite sure where you saw this was out of print. We have them for sale here on Paizo.com for $12.99. Just go to the top of this page to purchase.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted. The out of print comes from our distributor, Alliance, who has the product marked as out of print even though we have quite a few. I'll flag it for the tech team to deal with when they get a moment.

How do you "print" plastic miniatures? I have heard of 3-D printers, but I didn't think they were in widespread use for this purpose yet....
The "out of print" designation is a catch-all term that is used by our distributor (which this product is updated by). In this instance, it means that the product is still available, but another production run is not likely to happen.
