Haha! It seems Demons are the greatest foe of the Pathfinder society, as my tale of victory is also about defeating those fiends! And Flynn and Zaarah were along as well!

We were tasked by the society with persuading the Elves of Kyonin to aid the Mendevian Crusade. They had made promises, but had yet to fulfill them. General Tenasi of the elves was initially reluctant to give any aid - his homeland was beset on all sides and he was unable to spare any aid. After some negotiations, he told us of a group of demon slayers who had made a journey into the Tanglebriar, and had not been heard back from them. He promised that if we could recover his troops, he would be able to lend the aid we requested.

A mighty Elven wizard teleported us to their last known location - and the mission wasted no time before getting interesting! A truly enormous centipede crashed through the forest and attacked! Kramac wasted no time engaging the creature, savaging it with a brutal series of strikes. Kramac was surprised to find himself being peppered with arrows from behind! It was the Uprooters! Fortune was with us, except that the Uprooters thought we were demonic illusions!

One of our party, Quenly, was able to persuade them of our authenticity and they turned their bows on the centipede. However, a dozen of their archers paled in comparison to just Flynn! His arrows raked over the creature! Seeing a buffet of elves only a few feet away, the creature attempted to crush Kramac and his companions as it charged forward. Kramac stood fast and continued his assault. Legs were flying left and right, Kramac was covered in ichor, but at the end of it, the beast fell.

The Uprooters told us their leader was still missing and entreated us to find him. Kramac is never one to leave a man behind, so we set out immediately! It was a long hard journey through a twisted demonic forest. We faced many enemies - a pair of babau demons, who were easily dispatched after Zaarah put them to sleep. And a friend too, a Saytr who was holding out. Trying to save his forest. He was a noble creature, and Kramac hopes his cause is not lost.

Finally we came to a blasted swamp with demonic cocoons. It was the area the uprooters told us to look for. We were beset by a motley collection of leeches and other swamp creatures, which Flynn dispatched with great efficiency. Kramac began approaching the cocoons to free the occupants, but was accosted by a foul demon Hezrou that was hiding in the swamp! Kramac steeled himself for a vicious battle ahead. As he was about to engage the demon... when Zaarah made it fall asleep. And then Kramac chopped its head off. Huh... maybe Kramac should have picked a story with a more exciting ending. But we're too far into it now! With that, Kramac sliced open the remaining cocoons and rescued Lanverel!

There you have it! A thrilling tale of Kramac's Process, Flynn's accuracy, and how if you are planning on fighting Zaarah, you should get a good nights sleep beforehand!

Don't forget Kramac is half-xp for this one!

Edit: I should read the previous posts before just chiming up. Yup! Kramac is 12 now, and officially parked until Kiboko hits 12 for Eyes. I guess I need to start a new character - I'm thinking of starting a Half-Orc Magus that worships Pelor (inspired by the orc tribe Ingrge had a run in with recently) who runs around with a Staff of Radiance blasting undead eventually.

Fashionably late to the party, a short but powerfully build half-orc stalks through the door, decked out in gleaming full plate, with an odd looking sword at his side. Around his neck is a silver medallion of a flexed arm, recognizable to anyone who knows anything about religion as a holy symbol of Kurgess, the Strong Man, god of sport, competition and fair play.

Kiboko! It has been too long! Kramac hears they are sending us to the MWangi to battle the evil Aspis! Those poor wicked fools don't know the doom that awaits them! And Zaarah! Good to see you too! And how's you're sword?

From outside, you hear a sudden screeching. Kramac turns and shouts out the door,

No! Stay outside! You are too big! I don't care if the Mvumbu is in here, she is much better behaved than you!

Hamish pretty much nailed it on the head. I'm not a fan of unclear rules, so I'll just describe how this particular chase-adjacent event works.

There are a number of obstacles that you face as you make your way towards the bastion - for each one, I'll take the highest check and apply any other actions as assists - then it gets recorded as either a success or a fail. Once you make it to the bastion, the number of successes you get will affect some things later on in the scenario.

If you want to use your haste spell, I'll say it gives the +6 bonus to everyone for the first four obstacles. Feel free to retcon the casting and save for later if you want. For Shonne, your expeditious retreat will work for the entirety of this encounter.

During a normal chase, I'd just post the chase card for everyone to track, but since we aren't really tracking everyone's location it seems unnecessary.

Based on Zaarah's knowledge, haste is indeed warranted. Kramac is happy to help rescue the elves. Not just to complete his mission for the society, but because it is right. Kramac is happy to rescue the elves from demons even if you were not willing to help. Not all in the Pathfinder Society are merely treasure hunters.

Can we make purchases with Prestige Points here? If so, I'd like to buy a Scroll of Communal Align weapon with 2 castings for 2pp. Otherwise, I'll just pick up a single casting with gold. Kramac does not feel the need to pick up any antiplague or antitoxin - he's hearty enough on his own.

If we get into a fight with a big bad demon that has DR/Good, gather round me and I'll align everyone's weapon round one.

While there accidentally messed up a spell and ended up glimpsing into the void. He went quite insane, and now secretly worships Nylarthotep. He joined the Pathfinder Society to search for rituals and relics that can help him usher Nylarthotep into the world, and prevent the other old gods / threats to Golarian from getting here first.

He spends most of his time ranting about how we are all doomed.

Again your hubris is apparent! Yes, Hao Jin did leave the tapestry untended. But she also did a good job making it stable enough that no harm came to those she transported there simply by being in the tapestry! Those in the tapestry were able to thrive, grow, learn, fight, and make peace in largely the same ways they would have been able to on Golarian. I'm sure you think she should have acted in the same way as the immortal denizens of Axis and the Abyss and Hell and all the other planes treat those of the material plane - as toys, things to control and use for your own ends. Hao Jin decided that those in the tapestry could manage their own lives without her interference, and on that count she was correct! I have personally interacted with many inhabitants of the tapestry - they do not feel as neglected children, left to suffer. They consider it home - they have families and cultures and lives there. No guidance from Hao Jin was necessary.

Well if there is one thing Kramac has, it is stones.

Kraamc will address Tchekua primarily.

And how was Hao-Jin to know anything of cosmic calculus? Kramac thinks that the hubris of Hao-Jin is matched only by the ego of the Herald! On the material plane, we rarely encounter planar beings, much less ones willing to sit around and teach us 'cosmic calculus'! Do you expect us to sit around and wallow in a primitive state, waiting for the mighty inevitables to deign to grace us with their teachings? Kramac says no! Mortals are possessed with an indomitable spirit! To learn! To grow and better ourselves! To say that Hao-Jin should be imprisoned for the crime of attempting to create something magnificent and beautiful is wrong and Kramac will not stand for it!

Kramac understands why you are not willing to give up the engram - you are scared. Hao Jin's insight has allowed you to create and evolve in ways that were unexpected. It opened your eyes to the possibilities of what you could be. But now you can continue the evolution on your own. My god, Kurgess, says all beings should strive to better themselves - to be stronger, faster, smarter, greater. You can continue your journey without it. And if you cannot continue your journey without it, then what are you? You are not The Maker, Kolyarut who has transcended what he began as to become something more, something better. You are nothing but a glorified receptacle for the Engram, a horse for a fraction of a greater being that has overtaken who you are. Kramac challenges you - prove to yourself and the world, the engram is just the spark that ignited the fire within you!

Hearing Ruby's frustration with Zwei,

Do not worry Ruby! I'm sure as soon as he has need for your healing his desire to hide will evaporate quite thoroughly! Or if it doesn't, well Kramac suspects our companion will do a rather poor job hiding when he is lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. Kramac just hopes you can make it to him before he bleeds out! But, Kramac suspects it will not come to that. Come! Let us continue our search for the famed Hao Jin!

Jack is a powerful looking half-orc of short stature. He wears a breastplate and has a cutlass strapped at his waist. You can see several tattooed tentacles snake their way up his neck and curve across his face onto his cheeks and forehead. A holy symbol featuring a skull and crossbones hangs about his neck. Anyone who knows what it is can probably guess he probably keeps it hidden in more law-abiding parts of the world, but in the shackles he can allow his devotion to Besmara, god of Pirates and Sea Monsters be openly known.

Hahaha! Best assignment I've ever been given! The lodge has kept me for too long on the land in the so-called 'civilized' parts of the world. Good to be back home in the Shackles! Stick with Captain Jack and you'll make it through the festival just fine!

Jack surveys the room, listening to his companion's own introductions.

You, the sniveling one! Best steel your heart. A giant tame snake is the least of the horrors you'll see in the shackles. Have you ever heard of the Master of Gales? One o' the most powerful free Captains - keeps a Kraken for a pet! Now he's someone to be scared of! But fear not Wenton, Captain Jack will see his whole crew through this mission!

Adressing the undine,

Best cure for a hangover is a little hair of the dog!

With that Jack pulls a flask from his pocket and takes a long swig before letting our a hearty laugh.

Hahahaha! Now which way to the rum!?

My table didn't quite make it - I think the Dragon's full attack would have knocked out three party members (hopefully without killing any), but I think the remaining three and the animal companion would have finished it the next round. But instead, Yami's animated dragon showed up and finished off the last white dragon.

Reaver's Roar

The Pathfinders have surrounded the dragon, who suddenly seems over matched.

Foolish mortals! You shall not defeat me! You shall all die!

The dragon's taunts ring hollow as it bursts into the air and begins rising rapidly towards a hole in the ceiling. As it makes for the passage and escape, you all begin hearing the sound of another pair of beating wings, though this one sounds different - unnatural. As the white dragon is about to make his escape, an even larger dragon, but skeletal - all the skin absent from its form, descends rapidly from above.

Horralydax, Descendent of Grathatonhakis, Master of the Tusk Mountains!? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU!?

The skeletal dragon smashes into your foe, dragging it to the ground. and savaging the white dragon with tooth and claw. It is a very short fight for the already injured dragon, who soon lays still and motionless. The skeletal dragon stands, now covered with blood, and regards you with cold, empty eye sockets before rising through the air and departing from where it came.

The necromancer at the 10-11 table really wanted to reanimate the dragon they fought... so we decided to use it for some dramatic exposition. You almost had it - I think those of you still standing after the dragon's full attack probably would have been able to kill it next round.

He will request Juhnavi attempt to lift them with mage hand with different numbers of coins in the packs. He will note down the number of coins required to take the total package over 5 lbs to use as a gauge of their relative weight. Will that work well enough to determine the weight, at least relative to each other?

Kramac enters Dhiara's mindscape and observes the cycle of despair that the monk is trapped in. When the cycle starts anew, Kramac wastes no words on the monk, and instead springs into action. He charges as the minotaur approaches the girl. As he runs, a ghostly figment manifests from Kramac's own mind, a wolf running by his side. The half-orc slams into the Minotaur, knocking it off balance and forcing to miss the girl. As Kramac faces down the Minotaur bare handed, the wolf snaps out from behind, dragging the Minotaur to the ground. The two battle the Minotaur, meanwhile the girl begins to age rapidly. She progresses through adolescence, and into adulthood. While the titanic battle rages, images of the girl's wedding flash through the mindscape, the girl giving birth, raising children, and finally, where previously Dhiara saw the minotaur and the girl rotting and turning to dust, she sees an old woman on he deathbed, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, with a smile on her lips as she passes from this world into the next.

As the woman fades from the mindscape, Kramac turns, and is suddenly charging across a field on Jino. More ghostly figments appear around him as he enters battle. An elven archer, a raging half orc and his hippo companion, a singing tengu with a longsword in one hand and a banner in the other. Kramac cuts down a hobgoblin just in time to save a young dwarven soldier. The soldier, obviously not suited for combat, flees. Once again, time accelerates as Kramac and the figments battle the hobgoblins. Images of the dwarf flash by. She sees him crafting things of true beauty - statues and buildings of stone and metal. Images of the far future where scholars and archaeologists discover his creations, and are inspired by their beauty and craftsmanship to forge their own creations, on and on through time.

Finally, all of the figments fade as Kramac turns to face the horde of orcs alone, laughing as he charges proclaiming,

Haha! You wicked orcs shall spill no innocent blood today! You face an opponent the likes of which you have never seen in Kramac!

Kramac leans on Jino, absentmindedly scratching the beast's head as he talks and keeps watch over his friends.

My fighting style? Nothing so formal as you learned, I'm sure. Mostly just bits of technique from here and there. I started out training to be a warrior for my tribe in the Mwangi. The rest, I learned over years from bar fights, broken noses, and comrades in-arms. I picked up this odd weapon on an expedition to Tian Xia and took a fancy to it. A few months back I learned to fight in a Dwarven phalanx when dispatched on a few missions to Brevoy and the Plane of Air with a group of Dwarves. Odd fellows - but effective, especially together. I always find having a partner to work with to be invaluable. Jino and I... we are a well oiled team... we know each other.

Maybe some day you will get to see me fight alongside Kiboko and the wise and beautiful Mvumbu. We have been on many missions together, and we are terrifying when working together.
