It's been a little while since I've done a pbp game, but I'm thinking of getting into it again. I believe I'm going to roll up a Barbarian.

Not soon... but eventually. In fact... if I have my way, Shattered Star itself will be getting a sequel some day...

Until then, we have no plans to do another sequel. As reader response continues to come in, though... that could well change.

With most APs ending around level 15 and the new Mythic rules coming out to bring PCs up to taking out CR 30 threats, sequels to some of the existing APs is definitely something I would like to see. We haven't played Shattered Star yet since we're 4/6 of the way through Carrion Crown and I'm keeping my eyes trained on Wrath of the Righteous for our next AP, but I can tell you that if a sequel did come out for Shattered Star, or any existing AP really, that would probably boost the original to the very top of my "to-play" list in anticipation of playing the upcoming sequel.

1) Is there any art for male Lashunta anywhere?

2) If not, from their description of "squat, hairy, and broad-shouldered" do they basically just look like dwarfs or are they actually hairy in some sort of ape-like way?

3) Do they have the same antennae as the females?

4) Do Lashunta age like humans or like Elves or something else?

What I use for big monsters like that are generally toys that aren't meant to be RPG minis in the first place. Plastic dinosaurs, bugs, critters, dolls, and all sorts of things are the right size for all sorts of creatures.

Any particular toylines off the top of your head that make good figures for this?

What rough percentage of a large city, say Korvosa's, population is made up by PC classes (fighter, wizard, etc) compared to the rough percentage of NPC classes (commoner, expert, etc)?

1) What is the likelihood of someday getting a 12-part year-long AP covering some sort of major event in Golarion?

2) What sorts of events can you think of that would merit such an AP?

3) What mythic character type are you most excited to play once the rules are finalized?

4) After the mythic rules, what are the chances of seeing some sort of "Mythic Golarion" campaign book that expands on some of the mythic personalities in the world and opportunities for mythic adventures?

5) Which region of Golarion outside of the Inner Sea are you most excited to expand on next?

6) What did you think of The Hobbit? You've surely seen it by now, right?

A catfolk ninja mixes two very different traditions. Putting that character into Katapesh adds a third tradition to the mix. I hope you have an open-minded and permissive GM.

The GM is me, so I'd say so! I'm pretty much up for letting my players play whatever combo they want as long as they're having fun as we can usually put together a good backstory without too many complications. I'm actually a little surprised at Catfolk not being more common in Katapesh since they seem like they'd be a good fit for the region and mechanically they are perfect for the Ninja class.

1) Is there a region that Catfolk are somewhat more common in or native to?

2) I'm actually pretty curious about how a lot of the new races in the Advanced Race Guide fit into Golarion. Is there any chance of something like a "Misfits of Golarion" book that explores some of the non-core races' place in the setting in the way that the Elves/Halflings/Orcs/Etc of Golarion have done?

3) Is any of this information in print somewhere already that I haven't found? Pathfinder Wiki has no entry on Catfolk at all and the Race Guide doesn't really have anything setting specific that I recall.

I'm getting ready to run a Legacy of Fire game (thanks to the killer Black Friday $5/book deal you guys had going on) and I had a few Katapeshi questions:

1) How do Catfolk fit into Katapeshi society? Something in the vein of the writeups for the races in the Player's Guides would be awesome, but any info would be helpful.

2) Is Katapeshi the right adjective?

3) Per question 1, How do Ninjas fit into Katapeshi society?

Can you tell I have a player looking to play a Catfolk Ninja? :P

1) My players have loved the Lovecraft elements in Carrion Crown; would you ever consider doing an AP that is fully about mythos creatures involving themselves with Golarion? If so, I think it would be a hit.

2) If you did get an opportunity to make such an AP, which Elder Gods would be the focus/who would be the big bad?

3) Would you be interested in fully exploring some of the more established Lovecraftian "planes" like the Dreamlands in such an AP and associated products?

4) Are you familiar with Jason Thompson and his mythos comics? They're quite excellent.

5) Do you think Wrath of the Righteous will be more of a one-off or do you think it will become more of a common thing to have APs that delve into mythic tiers in a post-mythic adventures world (assuming Mythic Adventures is successful)?

6) Will Ultimate Campaign be expanding on Kingmaker's hex-based system for establishing a kingdom or will it be establishing a new system entirely?

7) Will it have any elements of the old Stronghold Builders Guide for determining the costs associated with players building their own keep?

Is there any precedent for two dieties "sharing" a Cleric and both granting her divine power for spells/domains?

As a tie-in question, what are the relations like between Kurgess and Pharasma and how would he respond to a request from her like this?

My guess is that Kurgess, being just a demigod who seems to mostly mind his own business and have fun, would probably not have a problem acceding to the wishes of one of the oldest and most powerful entities in the multiverse, especially if her reason for making the request was in agreement with his alignment (stopping the undead in this case).

Definitely interested in this and will be throwing together a character concept soon.

Phew! That's pretty impressive! I especially like:

Taisper became a serial killer for a while, for a good cause.

Knew that was going to happen eventually.

I'm also liking the sound of this fake-Zander plotline. I might have to take the time to actually go through and read all of this stuff sometime as it sounds like it's been quite a ride!

Also, now that I do have a little more time in my schedule if you ever do need a fourth Zander, I'd be happy to oblige.

Hey dudes. I'm dipping my face back into PbP a bit and thought I'd pop in and check up on how my old campaign is going. Glad to see Zander is still alive! What sort of craziness have you guys been up to?

I'm pretty happy with Adventure Paths as they are, but one thing I would maybe like to see is some inter-mixing betweeen Module line and APs. What I mean is basically that occasionally a Module could come out that actually acts as a direct continuation of an AP. I think it would be pretty awesome for groups that have run an AP to its finish to have a module come out a year or so later that lets them pick up their old characters and carry on that storyline at higher levels. Do you think this is something that Paizo might ever consider doing?

I'm DMing a game starting tonight with the following group makeup:

Female Human Barbarian
Male Aasimar Cleric of Desna (travel and liberation domains)
Male Tiefling Bladebound Magus (half-brother of the Cleric)
Female Halfling Ninja
Male Human Ranger (archery focused)

I'm thinking they should do pretty well; though they don't really have a true arcane caster, I'm excited to see the Magus in action and roleplaying his intelligent sword will be fun once that shows up.

If I were a Ninja with 10,500 gold to spend, I'd probably buy:

2335 - +1 wakizashi
2335 - +1 wakizashi
2100 - +1 mithral chain shirt
2000 - Ring of Protection +1
1000 - Cloak of Resistance +1 (though try to get a Vest if your DM is flexible)

After that I'd probably get the Belt (or preferably Gloves) of Dexterity, Amulet of Natural Armor, maybe toss a minor damage enchantment on one of my weapons, and then save up for a suit of Celestial Armor.

I was mostly hoping for something I could edit on the Nook so I could make updates mid-game and track HP and loot and stuff. I haven't had a ton of time to look into it, but I tried downloading a fillable character sheet on my Nook this morning and the Adobe Reader app couldn't fill anything in. Do you know does the ezpdf Reader allow fillable pdfs to work?

I just got a Nook Color that I rooted to CM7 myself and am also on the lookout for any good apps. I'll definitely be checking out a few of the ones mentioned here. I think the main things I'd like to see in an app are:

#1: A fully functional character sheet
I haven't really found anything like this yet. The only character sheet app I've really even seen isn't free and looks somewhat mediocre.

#2: A good DM tool for tracking initiative and hit points and the like.
The best I've found for this so far is an app called DM Assist, but it shows up at a weird non-full screen resolution on my Nook...

My take on how Taisper will probably see this is that this guy clearly deserved to die, he didn't have any evidence of this when he killed him, but he knew it. Now that it's been proven to him, he'll see it as proof that his knowledge of this man's deservedness of death is due to foresight given to him by his god. And really, at this point maybe it was? He honestly hasn't killed anyone yet who hasn't deserved it so for all we know his actions could be entirely justified and guided by the hand of Abadar.

You definitely have a good group of players here, as you can probably tell from all the backgrounds. I've played with a number of these guys over time, Scranford and Smashthedean are both involved in something with me right now, and all have been good players.

It looks like you've already made your decision about players, but I normally would agree that going above 6 people slows down much more in a pbp than it does in person. If you think you are up for it, splitting into two parties could be great.

I don't think scranford is here Tarlane, but the guy with his avatar keeps throwing me off as well! :P

Unless of course I'm completely missing him, in which case I'm blind and scranford is also good times :)

Echoing the congrats SdF! That Hound Master is probably the coolest archetype of the bunch and actually makes me want to play a Cavalier for the first time ever! Good luck in Round 3!

I'm posting to indicate my interest. I'll post a character as soon as I'm able to. I'm leaning towards a human monk, probably going with the Monk of the Four Winds archetype. Will be hailing from Tian Xia and will probably be pretty heavily influenced by old martial arts films. Given the archetypes for fitting into the backstory I'm thinking my character will probably be the minimum human starting age of 15 and fall into the "unhappy childhood - tortured" and will have been one of Lamm's enslaved orphans and after escaping somehow learned martial arts and became a badass out for revenge. It will make a lot more sense when I put together the backstory, you'll see :)

Ohhh man, roleplaying goblins is a lot of fun, haha.

And also eeeeewwwwww, I must admit I am happily steering clear of the link that would make me want to apply bleach to the brain, but still creeeepy!

Just throwing this out there, but if you guys happen to lose another player, Id be happy to step in, either as a direct replacement, or a whole new character.

You won't know the value of those items off the bat without an Appraise check (DC 20) or a visit to the shop to sell them. As for the bag of coin, I figured I'd wait until you guys decide what to do with that in-game before adding its total to the loot fund. You seem to remember something about Lavinia requesting you to bring her back her payment to the harbormaster that Vark stole...

So wait, you can sleep in leather armor without gaining the Fatigued condition? How did I not know this.

Should I put you down for a suit? We'll probably be sleeping in the wilderness and getting attacked at night a lot so it would be a good idea to get some light armor for everyone.

My biggest problem with elf characters in the past has been filling in all of those years with suitable backstory, but your approach of having her de-level with age is brilliant.

Bravo indeed to all. The character development so far has been pretty intense and I can only imagine where all of these characters will end up as the levels progress.

I'm new to GMing PbP threads, but I've been having success just making maps in Excel and then print screening the image over to mspaint and posting a .png online. I like the part about posting contingencies as that should work out pretty well. Also I feel like I'm getting more in the groove of this method as things go along so maybe we don't need any changes, but I wanted to gauge how this all is working for everyone else.

I really like how despite Taisper's happy-go-lucky attitude, when he's got the will of Abadar in him, he'll end a man's life without a second thought. It's refreshing to have the "does what needs to be done" character also be the class clown and everyone's buddy instead of a regular grim loner type or whatever.

Considering you were right next to the dude and your action came before his, I'm assuming you still had time to deliver the killing blow. You were just so focused on delivering justice that you were deaf to the shouts of your companions ;)

In a couple of other games I'm in when the DM does the round summary, he puts in the initiative order again, and if someone has acted it's shown in the count. That way we know for sure that our actions for the round are due/over. Shouldn't be much extra effort, just a cut and paste of original initiative post, but shouldn't slow down the game like waiting to post in initiative order can. Just my 2c worth.

That's pretty awesome. That reminds me of time when I was DMing and the party was fighting a White Dragon that was way over their CR with the intent of an NPC Silver Dragon that had been shapeshifted into their torchbearer saving them, but then the Barbarian hit and criticalled with both of his attacks using a greataxe and doing a completely ridiculous amount of damage and killing it. I had to bring in the Great Wyrm White Dragon that was the dragon he'd killed's mother to run the story event, heh.

Nice. That explains riding griffins and fighting dragons at 6th level or whatever I guess :P
