Edit; How about a cloak of Resistance +1 and Endure Elements? Endure Elements on a cloak is ((1x1x2000)/2) = 1000/2 = 500 to craft plus resistance +1 is just 500 to craft (why do you say 530?) so 500x1,5 + 500 = 1250.

Btw, did we ever settle on Newhaven's coat of arms? 'Cause I'm seeing a crimson colored leather, fur lined hooded cloak with a coat of arm displaying proudly. We could call it Berrin's Cloak or the Generals Cloak or whatever...
The 30gp was my arbitrary calculation on what it would cost Verik to have the physical item crafted of masterwork quality - cloak, circlet, belt, etc. Verik doesn't have any appreciable ability to craft leather or weave or woodwork or any of that. There's no clear masterwork item cost for apparel items so I just made it up.
Yeah Endure Elements is a really neat idea on the cloak - wish I had thought of that earlier! I mean to your point it would more than double the cost and time and doesn't protect against rain. But if you're out in the field in the Brevian winter or in your half-plate in the high heat of summer that could be a really good thing. In this case I'd say we do it if you're not bankrupting your cash.
No formal idea on the Newhaven coat of arms yet, though it's on the other cloaks Verik made in various ways. Stag horns with a stylized town perhaps? Or maybe a sunrise on the water (lake) with the stag horns encircling each side? Anyone an artist in the group?
Can't remember if I already paid for the armor yet, if I have then Berrin has the coin for the cloak.

Btw, Isaac had a coat of arm somewhere in his map collection he suggested for us but I thought was to Iomede-y and I remember Verik suggesting something along the lines of a griffin or scales and Berrin replying that we should add a bent tin cup since we were going for something god inspired.
Yup, bought and paid for, both belt and armor. That leaves Berrin with just over 2300 gold so he's got the cash for the cloak.

Yeah I think it's safe to assume here that the following scenes are all happening on the morning of Sarenith 12th:
* Nikolai's assassination attempt in his castle room
* Berrin's contest and conversation with Maegar Varn on the training grounds
* Taisper's mysterious package arrival at his room
* Akiros's morning breakfast and talk with Elspeth Surtova
* Zander's return to Sanctuary and helm-induced showdown in town
* Verik's conversation with Aylene Varn at the Bank of Abadar
I think the only PC unaccounted for (as of yet) on the morning of the 12th is Jemini.

If you want to hang onto the gifts, I can make that happen. I just figured that Nikolai wouldn't want to keep it because he felt that he hadn't earned it and that he could send it off in an attempt ti quell his conscience. Plus he did get some of it back in the form of the belt.

Some housekeeping: Last I saw, Nikolai was taking the belt of giant strength. Is that still true?
Just some housekeeping here that may or may not influence the decision of the newer belt. Per Berrin's current loot sheet (linked from his profile page), Nikolai did receive the Belt of Giant Strength from the loot at Lake Candlemere Island. Surely after his rage-busting of the two young harpies he earned that share!
Steven also I can have Verik make something that he knows how to make at some point in the future -- we'll just have to RP it so it makes sense as to the why's and when's. I maintain a list of his "crafting list" on Verik's profile page.

Sweet! We'll be working on that relationship in character. I like when characters are free to not get aling so long as players are havibg fun with it. Nikolai's a much better story taken slowly and full of mistrust. But we'll all get there - I'm hoping in the endgame people respect and rely (and straight up fear) him.

And just to clear a little confusion on my part, several times now Jemini has been referred to as Marshall as well. How/what exactly does that mean in relation to Akiros being Marshall?
Well the short answer is that (from page 12-13) Akiros is the 'Marshal' or 'Praefectus-Marshal' whereas Jemini is the 'Lady Marshal' of the Realm (High Defender of the White Stag, Wielder of the Ironborn Crown, First Founder of Newhaven blah blah).
So Akiros is not 'Lord-Marshal' which signifies the primary ruler of Newhaven.
The longer answer is that this was just me putting this in with an attempt at logic and some poetic license, and was not formally decided by the group, so it can be retconned of course.
As it relates to Akiros, the term 'Marshal' comes from the stock leadership positions of the Kingmaker rules, and is not necessarily what you have to call yourself (just as Taisper would never call himself the realm's Assassin as per the position I don't believe). In an attempt to make Verik sound like he knows some Old Taldoran and has a handle on this stuff, I borrowed some Latin and looked up 'Prefect' which seemed to have a good spin on your role, hence "Praefectus-Marshal" there. However, there is no story precedent (Corwin was DMPC'd in the Interregnum and acted like the Captain of the Guard essentially), so you can flavor that if you have a different idea.
For Jemini, it didn't fit that we would call her 'Queen' or 'Baroness' of Newhaven. I mean the notion that the fledgling Newhaven is a 'kingdom' is pretty laughable and would be an affront to our larger neighbors. Plus, the feel for Newhaven is that we would not install a 'Queen' or 'King' as Brevoy does. Baroness would fit better in terms of our size, but that implies we owe direct fealty to Brevoy, something we have not done (and to this point would not do).
So in looking at references in the Inner Sea World Guide I saw that the independent land of Nirmathas had its leader as 'Forest-Marshal' and I borrowed the reference as it seemed to fit us better. Kind of like we are a 'border march' or something like that. Plus, Marshal has a nice noble but militant quality to it for Jemini to inspire the masses, unlike 'First Founder' or 'First Citizen' or something like that.

Nikolai has quarters in the main castle, though he likely didn't get his pick of them and would be a ways away.

Hey dudes. I'm dipping my face back into PbP a bit and thought I'd pop in and check up on how my old campaign is going. Glad to see Zander is still alive! What sort of craziness have you guys been up to?

They had a showdown with the Stag Lord.
Verik and Zander helped over on the other side (as no one was playing them at the time).
Jemini was killed.
Corwin was mortally wounded but survived.
Tandlara tore out the Stag Lord's eyes (after blinding Akiros) and Taisper bashed in the Stag Lord's head, killing him.
Akiros surrendered, as did the rest of the Stag Lord's men.
Newhaven was founded.
Pardons were handed out, including to Akiros.
Jemini, while dead, went on an adventure in the afterlife with John Kirkwood, who was a friend of her ancestor (as well as Tandlara's father).
Jemini was accompanied in the afterlife by the Stag Lord, who was revealed to be Nikolai Rogarvia, the last heir to the Dragonscale Throne.
The PCs became the Founders of a new nation called Newhaven.
Verik was locked in a political power struggle with Archbanker Vinodragov.
They tried and failed to resurrect Jemini, who declined the resurrection because it would leave Nikolai behind.
Zander became head of the Wardens, who wander the nation and scout for threats.
Akiros became General of the army.
Taisper became a serial killer for a while, for a good cause.
They built a castle on top of the Stag Lord's fort and called it Sanctuary.
Berrin was the Steward while they waited for Jemini, and he hated it.
Berrin got a girlfriend, a Varisian temptress named Esmerelda.
Jemini and Nikolai both got sent back by Pharasma on the one-year anniversary of their deaths.
Jemini was named ruler.
Jemini, Nikolai, Zander, Berrin, Verik, and Taisper headed out to look for rumors of trolls and to seek out a lost Warden named Gregary.
They found Gregary, taken captive by harpies in Candlemere Island. They purged an evil from the island.
They defeated a raid from kobolds and lizardfolk, who were attacking a gnomish caravan.
They discovered that a King of the Trolls was riding named Hargaluka. Gregary had more information as well.
Akiros dealt with a shapeshifter assassin named Malgorzata in Sanctuary.
Malgorzata killed Corwin in an ambush and was hit with a maximized enervation by Tandlara, who went into a coma afterwards.
Akiros got very ill in an attempt to draw Malgorzata out, hallucinated a lot, got brought to the very brink of his sanity when she pretended to be his dead lover, then killed Malgorzata when the rest returned in time to draw him back.
The citizens of Sanctuary demanded a trial of Nikolai for his crimes as the Stag Lord, which was supported by a rabble-rouser named Grigori and by Vinodragov.
Several nobles came to Santuary to assist in the trial, including Jemini's sister Ellanna and [b]Zander Orlovsky[/i].
Zander (who goes by Zander Whitestag, as he frequently uses the Stag Lord's helm) came to the realization that his father had replaced him and the fake Zander was not aware that he is not Zander Orlovsky.
Fake Zander and Jemini have struck up something of a slow courtly romance.
An assassin tried to kill Nikolai, who defeated and unmasked her. It turned out to be Berrin's lover Esmerelda.
There's a lot more, but that's a summary and that's where we are right now.
Phew! That's pretty impressive! I especially like:

I'm also liking the sound of this fake-Zander plotline. I might have to take the time to actually go through and read all of this stuff sometime as it sounds like it's been quite a ride!
Also, now that I do have a little more time in my schedule if you ever do need a fourth Zander, I'd be happy to oblige.
Yeah, but he and Verik decided to cover it up and slow things down. Alexius, who had been manipulative and encouraging serial killer Taisper, tried to kill Verik and was killed by the cousins. They disposed of the body and Verik has been trying to cleanse Alexius's evil sword.
I actually have a really interesting arc set forth for Fake Zander. It's somewhat obvious that it will be a lot about figuring out who he really is - and isn't. Jemini's interest in him is also pretty interesting. Verik's feelings for her have waned a little (mostly in recognition of the obvious) and Nikolai has some feelings for her as well developed in the afterlife. Ellanna wants her to marry Nikolai, so that she can be free to marry King Noleski (who she loves). It's a rhombazoid at this point.
Speaking of - LK, you around? Where's Jemini? Where's everybody else?

Since we're talking about loot, anyone have any items that they'd like from Ultimate Equipment? I've looked through it with an eye for each PC, but I'd like to know if any of you have something specifically that you'd like to see. We'll see if it can be arranged.
I tallied yall's total wealth and checked it against the 16,000 gp that comes with 6th level. (Just rounding up.) I ignored everything worth less than 100g, because I figured that you guys could come up with that without any issues as the leaders of the nation. This is based on your current character sheets, so let me know if they're not up to date.
Akiros - 5,340 gp (not counting liquid wealth)
Jemini - 25,493 gp (counting the 1200 given to charity)
Berrin - 14,986 gp (not counting liquid wealth)
Nikolai - 4,579 gp (is it really that anemic or is it out-of-date?)
Taisper - 6,067 gp (see Nikolai's note, not counting liquid wealth)
Verik - 12,496 gp
Zander - 20,200 gp (valuing the Stag Lord's Helm at 7200 gp [we'll get to that], and not counting liquid wealth)It appears that I've been pretty feast-or-famine with yall's loot, although the average is 12,737 gp. It's slightly lower than I'd like, though I'm not a Monty Haul type DM to shower you with wealth. However, you guys are the leaders of a rising and prosperous nation - and thus should have more than expecting, especially considering Verik has dedicated a number of feats towards increasing WBL.
Just realized that I actually have no idea how much 'liquid wealth' Akiros has. There was never any wealth indicated on Akiros' original sheet and I failed to jot down anything since then. And now I completely forget. Does anyone else have an active part loot sheet? I know there were a few items from Malgazorta and the witches, and then the party was kind enough to split the Harpy loot with Akiros, but I have no idea what he has now.
I've put down his new Headband of CHR, and added the -2030gp it cost, but that's all I have in terms of wealth for him at the moment, -2030gp. Anybody know the rest?
Also, haven't got the UC book yet, but I will get it later this weekend. Will take a gander if anything looks appealing for Akiros and see about getting his wealth per level close to the 16,00 it's 'supposed' to be.
I'll get Nikolai a +1 Flaming sword (though I'd like to differentiate him from Berrin with the looted Stag Lord greatsword, Jemini with the longsword, and Akiros with the bastard sword - any other types of sword?) eventually. It'll be a looted item somewhere that will help symbolize him continuing to throw off the vestiges of being TSL. Nikolai has gotten that Belt since that post, which was worth 10,000 gp.
Just a quick upkeep note for Akiros - Berrin's loot sheet doc for the party shows that Akiros received 4036gp 3 sp 4 cp for the loot distribution recently, so he has the funds to deduct the Headband plus some extra. To your point it does not show any funds he had previously saved up for the prior year and such. But you're not totally broke. Yet. :)

Huh, so there really is no ability or condition to antagonize someone.
I saw how you (I think?) consciously changed her action from frighten to antagonize, which makes complete sense, as a bound, female prisoner is not very likely to be able to frighten a large, armed and armored man. (although, that said, I know there has been many, and can think of a few myself, times where are much smaller and seemingly helpless being (female or no) managed quite successfully to scare the bejeezus out a much bigger (supposedly) scarier male)
There should be an antagonized condition though. For when you rattle someone's cage, or rile them up or whatever to get them so mad, or frustrated or what have you that that they can't think, act, function properly for some time. (So same conditions as Shaken, just angry as opposed to afraid)
Anyway, I tried to incorporate something that included both. His being angry but then also shaken. More from his own actions than her words directly, but she likely achieved her desired purpose anyway. Well done sir! ; )

I got a big kick out of reading that actually -- sort of an alternate timeline idea that was BOLD. That would have been an interesting turn to play that out over the next couple of weeks!
As it stands I like the idea that the scene was somehow in Taisper's head as to how it would have played out, but now he's back to reality :)

I'm good to commit to posting on any part of the storyline every 48 hours or so if everyone else is up for it. Most weekdays I can post once a day if desired. I'm all for building momentum - some of this is heavy dramatic stuff but the best thing is to keep on it and move the storyline forward. I'd rather do that than let the story falter and drag on for two weeks or more. Momentum is the key.
