BTW whats your take on trick for animal companions DM Baracus? I've had a range of start with as many tricks as the animal can know - to represent a starting animal having been with its druid for years, etc. - to you only begin with the free trick. I'll be bumping Ramon's Int to 3 so I don't have to worry about them ASAP, but in early play tricks are quite a big deal, especially given the foes we are likely to be facing.

In RL games, I tend to enforce tricks and treat animal companions as an NPC rather than an extension of the PC. However, in PBP, I'd rather have you simply play Ramon accordingly. Keep his tricks as normal: "An animal trained to bear a rider into combat knows the tricks attack, come, defend, down, guard, and heel." (We'll ignore that riding thing.) I suggest you use his bonus trick to attack anything, so he can fight undead.

Hmmm, it seems like you are saying he can be trained to a purpose, but I would much rather he had the Hunting purpose and Trick set than the Combat Training one. That being attack, down, fetch, heel, seek, and track. I think that would fit a lot better, since Ramon has effectively been more of a hunting buddy than a battle cat. Is that acceptable? I would indeed use the "free trick" for a second attack so he can tackle unusual creatures.

Definitely signed into google docs, etc. And have signed out and signed back in again several times to no avail. This is what I see...

Combat eh? Well I'm back from the coast now, but not home yet. Depending on how pooped I am when I get home, I'll either catch up on things tonight or in the morning.
Also for a trip report: My pole broke while fishing so that didn't work out so well, but we turned the focus of the day to crabbing and made out like kings! I am now going to eat me some crabs and then hit the road home!

Aand I'm back.
As I was typing this last post, I came up with a fun new thing for Duron. You may have guessed it, but that voice he heard was the voice of his own self before he lost his memory. I'll probably have this pop up occasionally and I encourage Barcas to use it as well whenever you feel like revealing something to me or spicing things up.

He indeed vanished into the night, though it looks like he didn't get the prize he was after.
None of this is in the AP, by the way, so the destruction of most of the journal's contents is something I can easily work with. I'm deviating pretty far off page. The opening scene in the AP is a rowdy group of townsfolk trying to prevent the Professor's burial.

I'm lurking with interest your Carrion Crown AP. I've just started my own (or should I better say I'm in the process - officially we are in the prelude at the moment with game start this weekend - but we managed the first 30 posts IC despite not having started yet).
The main reason for posting: I just used the YouTube Thunderstorm link you provided. I hope this is okay that I took it and that I might take bits and pieces of interest in the future. If not - please let me know and I stop any further stealing from your campaign.
Should you find anything of interest from me - feel free to take it. Unfortunately I'm a little bit behind you right now.
And yes - I noticed the 'off page' developments. No - I don't plan to follow your route.
Thanks
Thod

So...thinking of crafting Identify, Detect Secret Doors, and Cure Light Wounds for tomorrow's extracts for our trip to the crypt. Anyone else wanna weigh in on what I should or shouldn't prepare? I can always leave a slot open, of course, but it can't be for anything we'd need in a hurry since it takes a minute to prepare an extract in the field.

A minute isn't that bad and I can't see us needing to find secret doors or identifying magic items in a hurry so I'd suggest prepare the Cure Light Wounds and then leave the other two open. It seems to me that one of the greatest strengths of the Alchemist is their ability to quickly prepare their extracts in the field so I say take advantage of that.

Sorry that I have been relatively light on updates. It's been a crazy week. I had a hostage situation that turned into a major drug bust (illegal steroids, cocaine, ecstacy, some meth and other stuff), a rolling stolen vehicle that ended up yielding an aggravated robbery suspect (not for the vehicle, but for one that the driver had committed earlier in the day; he had reported it stolen a few months back but forgot to report it recovered), a major accident in which one car was basically annihilated, and filing some warrants on a gang member who punched an 11-year-old who was trying to defend his mother from the suspect's threats.
And that's just the last 48 hours.
I'll get things all caught up, all caught up.
