Liberty's Edge 5/5 Regional Venture-Coordinator, Online

Regionally Appropriate Greetings, Everyone.

Due to technical difficulties with the AetherCon ticketing module on their website, we have no access to see who is currently signed up at each table from a coordinator perspective.

AetherCon has stated this will not be fixed before the weekend is up due to lack of access to their website developer and Hosting Company.

This also means that we can not add, edit, or delete sessions on the site either.

The site seems to intermittently time out for players and GMs as well, and I expect it will only get worse as the event hits and the website is under more load.

If you sign up for a game please ping the GM on Discord:

http://PFSChat.com

http://SFSChat.com

... as they may not be able to see that you signed up in time.

If you cannot contact a GM please ping us and we'll do our best to make that connection for you. (Same if you need to drop from a game.)

We have made a spreadsheet with a list of the games and VTT links along with the GMs Discord aliases to help connect people as best we can:

Google Sheets List of Games

The games marked in red no longer have GMs and/or have no players signed up when we last had access to the data last Saturday. (Mainly due to lack of access to the ticketing website, sadly.)

We'll update the spreadsheet as quickly as we can as we get in new data from GMs - so please check back if you do not see what you are looking for right now.

I apologize for the inconvenience this causes - I know it's a pain (for all of us) - we'll do our best to help make this as easy as possible by channeling everything we can here to Discord.

Also, to answer a FAQ, Pick-Up-Games are allowed for AetherCon, and even encouraged, over the weekend - please submit PUGs to the PFSatAetherCon website (submission link at bottom of page), so that we know they exist and please post them in the appropriate LFG channel on Discord, pretty please.

We are trying to get one last database dump from the hosting provider AetherCon uses - if we can get that information, we will send out an email to everyone registered to Run or Play in a game this weekend with as much info as we can to help smooth things out.

I will also publish all new info on Discord in the #aethercon channel to make sure everyone sees the information.

Thanks for all your hard work so far, and we appreciate your patience/understanding with all of the tech issues we're all facing - it is very much appreciated.

(On a positive note - AetherCon has agreed to go back to WarHorn next year - so this will hopefully not be an issue again next time.)

Look forward to seeing you guys at a VTT this weekend - let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Best Always,

- Jesse

Both Hilary and Michael have been outstanding members of the Online Community and I’m very excited to have them as part of the Online VO Team.

AetherCon 2016

Scenario: [PFSCORE] 7-98: Serpents' Ire [8]

Date/Time: Sunday, November 13, 2016 2:00 PM EST US [UTC-5]

GM: Nathan Schwalm

Game Client: Google Plus Hangout and the Roll20.net VTT

Description:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 8th-level pregenerated characters.

A parasitic faction known as the Korholm Agenda has tried to corrupt the upstanding Aspis Consortium from the inside out, all in the vain pursuit of revenge and profit. Now one of the powerful Aspis Patrons has learned that the Korholm Agenda has siphoned the Consortium’s funding to build a base of operations in Nidal. This shall not stand. He has assembled a team of top agents—including both new faces and veterans of the attack on the Grand Lodge a year ago—to infiltrate the operation and shut it down by any means necessary.

In this adventure the players portray agents of the Aspis Consortium using 8th-level pregenerated characters.

Content in "Serpents’ Ire" also ties into a special metaplot element from Pathfinder Society Special #6–98: "Serpents Rise." Players who have completed that special event are encouraged to bring its Chronicle sheet when playing this adventure.

AetherCon 2016

Scenario: [PFSRPG] 8-07: From the Tome of Righteous Repose [3-7]

Date/Time: Saturday, November 12, 2016 2:00 PM EST US [UTC-5]

GM: Daniel Baker

Game Client: Google Plus Hangout and the Roll20.net VTT

Description:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7.

When the necromancer-king Tar-Baphon rose as a lich and threatened to conquer all of Avistan, Taldor rallied its neighbors and led the Shining Crusade, a glorious campaign that defeated the Whispering Tyrant’s armies and sealed him away. For the better part of a millennium, Lastwall has guarded Tar-Baphon’s prison and fended off the orc tribes to the north, rarely sparing a second thought to the rich archaeological secrets that lie just below the soil. A local venture-captain has found a lost chapter to the Tome of Righteous Repose, which chronicles the demise of countless heroes of the Shining Crusade. At long last, this has earned the Society Lastwall’s blessing to uncover these lost sites, lay to rest the fallen crusaders, and repatriate the family heirlooms they carried to battle.

"From the Tome of Righteous Repose" is an evergreen, replayable scenario designed to provide a flexible adventure that confronts the PCs with a variety of threats more common to higher-level characters—all while uncovering the history of one of Avistan’s greatest conflicts. Depending on which lead the PCs take, they might explore the proud crusader nation of Lastwall, travel into the gloom-shrouded mountains of Ustalav, or risk an expedition into the orc-ruled wastes of Belkzen in pursuit of lost history.

This scenario is designed for play in Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild but can easily be adapted for use with any world. This scenario is compliant with the Open Game License (OGL) and is suitable for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

This year AetherCon has decided not to use Warhorn and has chosen to go back to a custom registration system hosted on AetherCon.com.

Due to this we have worked out a method for us to mass import PFS sessions on a set schedule.

GMs will submit sessions to us via the submission process detailed below.

We will then manually import those sessions into AetherCons system on a regular basis.

(**PFS GM's should NOT register games directly through AetherCon.**)

The PFS Registration process for AetherCon will be as follows:

1) Go to PFSatAetherCon.com and check out what sessions are already scheduled.

2) Decide what scenario you would like to run and what slot you would like to run it in. (Make sure you are eligible to run any scenarios you submit - you meet the GM Star Requirements for exclusives, for example.)

3) Click the "Submit A Game Listing" link at the bottom of the session list page.

4) Enter the requested information, making sure you enter the following information correctly:

  • Primary Paizo Alias (We suggest you click your profile on Paizo and copy the alias from the end of URL. Example: http://paizo.com/people/IronHelixx - Don't submit the whole URL, just the name displayed at the end of the URL.)
  • Your PFS Number (No PC number)
  • Your Email that you used on your Paizo.com account. (This MUST be your Paizo associated email address or you will not get scenario support)
  • Which Slot you wish to run your game in.
  • The Scenario you wish to run in the Slot chosen above.
  • Check the "Core?" Checkbox ONLY if you are running this session as a Core Campaign game.
  • "Session Full" is currently locked and cannot be marked.
  • "URL to Signups" can be ignored - this will be a link to the AetherCon system once they sessions are imported.
  • Enter any Notes you wish to include. (This will be public, so anything you "note" will be publicly view-able.)

** Please double-check all values before submitting session. **

NOTE: If you make a mistake while entering a session please do not resubmit your game, just reply to the confirmation email with any changes you need to make.

(Early next week you will receive an email with information on how to edit sessions.)

You may notice that the multi-table special and the new exclusive(s) are not currently available for registration in the system. We will not be opening registration for those until after GenCon. So if you wish to run those, please wait until further directions come after GenCon ends.

The September/October Scenario Releases are also not currently listed, but will be available in time for AetherCon 2016. So if you wish to run those please keep open slots available for when we list those later, when the powers that be allow us to list them for open registration.

Otherwise, you are free to begin registering your GM sessions now.

We will have a separate posts with some suggested scenarios for each slot coming shortly, but you are free to list games if you already have something in mind that you wish to run.

NOTES:

  • Scenarios and Time Slots may be subject to approval/changes to avoid conflicts, et cetera.
  • All sessions must be run using Roll20.net, that is the official VTT of AetherCon.
  • GMs can use Google Hangouts, the built in A/V in Roll20, or Discord for audio/video in games.
  • Private Games are NOT allowed. All games must be listed for open/public registration.
  • Non-English games are welcome and invited - please indicate Non-English languages in the Notes section of the form when submitting your session.

GM Boons: Every GM that runs a game will automatically get a GM boon. (Each GM gets one boon, regardless of how many sessions are run.) Table/Player boons will also be available at every table run and GMs will receive emails on how those work prior to the convention. Both players and GMs are eligible to win Table/Player boons. Only GMs can receive the GM boons.

Paizo Scenario Support: Free Scenario support will be provided by Paizo for games submitted to us through the form above by the October 9th, 2016 deadline. [You can still list games for AetherCon after the deadline, but you will have to acquire them yourself.]

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at PFSOnlineVO@GMail.com, reply to this post, or contact us through the Discord Server at http://pfschat.com.

(The Convention's PFS "Help Desk" will be at http://PFSChat.com during/prior to the convention.)

Also Note - The New Season 8 Guide to PFS Org Play has been released, make sure and check it out: http://paizo.com/products/btpy84k4

Look forward to seeing you all at AetherCon 2016. =)

Thanks!

Howdy!

I wanted to take a moment to recognize our two, now officially retired, Online Venture-Lieutenants, Arthur Perkins and Brandon Cecil.

For those who have come to online play in the last year, or so, who may not have seen the hard work these two guys put in before their sabbaticals, just know we would not be what we are today without them.

Brandon was instrumental in the coordination and Overseeing of most of the early Multi-Table Specials at our major online conventions.

And Arthur has been a whirlwind force in Online Play from the very beginning. Working tirelessly to recruit Online GMs, to create training materials and videos for new players and GMs just starting out – even hosting live online seminars to help GMs get started running games online. Arthur also ran tons of Online PFS sessions - running daily at times for long stretches. (Leaving a trail of deceased PCs in his Nat20 wake. =b) And it was Arthur who pushed me to up the time-line for running the first Online Multi-Table special to an earlier date – which turned out to be important to the creation of the Official Online Region. And there are a ton of other things he did in the background that I could not list here or I would be typing all day.

So, PFS Online Play would definitely not be where it is today, as an Official Region, without these two guys. So thank you both.

Brandon can now be found playing the role of Proud Papa to his new son.

Arthur can still be found online in his role as a Twitch Streamer, where he regularly runs loads of different RPGs (including Pathfinder) with an entertaining revolving cast of fellow streamers as players. (As well as streaming whatever PC games suit his fancy between GMing sessions.)

You can catch Arthur's Twitch Streams at http://twitch.tv/APGamingReal.

I am forever indebted to you both. We were lucky to have you while we could.

Best of luck in all of your future endeavors.

I'm proud to call you both fiends.

Howdy!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

We have created an "Official" PFS Online Discord server to to use for Online Play community discussion, questions, Online Event support, et cetera.

What is Discord you ask?

Discord is a free, web browser-based voice and text chat app designed specifically for gaming that is platform neutral. (It also has desktop apps for Mac and Windows, as well as mobile apps for Android and iOS.)

We performed a "soft-opening" test of it during Roll20Con and it seems to work pretty well. (And it has been used for Online Play, in general, for some time now.)

If you wish to join, you can join the server at:

http://PFSChat.com

Currently we have it setup as the following channels:

#general : For general chat related to PFS play.

#pbp_lfg : For Play-by-Post(PbP) game announcements and those looking for players/GMs for PbP games.

#vtt_lfg : For Virtual Tabletop(VTT) game announcements and those looking for players/GMs for VTT games.

#links : For posting links so that they can be easily found for other chat channels. This channel is ONLY for links and not discussion.

#ask_the_vos : Have a question for the PFS Online Venture-Officers and require a quick response - Ask us here. (If the question is not urgent please email us at PFSOnlineVOs@Gmail.com instead and we'll get back to you ASAP.)

#announcements : Channel for PFS Online Venture-Officer announcements.

#table_x_chat / #table_x_voice : Rooms for games, et cetera. Users should reserve both the chat and audio channel of the matching number. If additional rooms need to be added please @ mention @ironhelixx and we will add additional rooms.

#EventNameX : Additional channels will be created for events. Those rooms will persist for 30 days after the event ends and then be removed.

We will likely be adjusting/fine-tuning these channels as we go forward. But this is where we will start. :)

If you wish to try Discord for in-game audio, please feel free to grab one of the available "tables" and have at it. [Please be respectful of rooms already in use.] There are currently 5 game channels available, but we can easily add more as they are needed.

All server chat should be kept "Rated PG" and family friendly.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please let us know.

Regionally appropriate greeting everyone.

I am very happy to announce the addition of three new Venture-Agents for Online Play.

All of these guys have been long time champions and organizers of their respective communities, as well as the online play community at large, and I am very excited to add them to the Online Play VO Corp.

I present to you:

Kris Vickerman (AKA Greycloak of Bowness), Venture-Agent, Online Play – PbP

Mike Tuholski (AKA EndlessForms), Venture-Agent, Online Play - PbP

Hannes Schunk (AKA bakamono), Venture-Agent, Online Play – German Language Games

Kris and Mike will be working with the VL of Online Play, James (AKA Iammars) to bring you the upcoming Play-by-Post Gamedays, and they will all be working directly with the community to support the PFS PbP community at large. So if you need any help getting started in PFS PbP gaming, or any other PFS PbP assistance at all, these are your guys.

Hannes will be helping organize German Language games for both VTT and PbP events, and has already been a big help in that department. So if you have any German Language Online Play needs, Hannes is your VA.

I couldn't be happier to have these guys as part of the team and look forward to working with them to bring you even more Online Play events in the days to come.

Welcome to the Online VO Corp guys!

This free, online-only celebration of the Roll20 Community will take place on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 for just 24 hours - but you can start preparing, listing, and joining games now! On May 27th, all games labeled for Roll20CON will have access to Plus-level subscription features (including Dynamic Lighting) for free until June 3rd, 2016 at 11:59pm Pacific.

During the convention, some of your favorite streamers and publishers will also be live on Twitch.tv helping Roll20 raise money for Cybersmile, the international non-profit supporting victims of cyberbullying. [Donation details will be available during the Twitch.tv Stream and on Roll20Con.net during the convention.]

We would love to see a strong turnout from the PFS Online Community.

For those interested in running PFS during Roll20Con 2016, please read this post from Roll20Con first:

https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/3324569/read-me-roll20con-lfg-and-you

Then go to the convention session registration link here and register your game:

https://roll20con.net/con/register

NOTE: Make sure to list your game as "Pathfinder" in the "Playing" section of each session, and tag "PathfinderSociety" in the tags.

(Please use the Pathfinder Society Scenario/AP/Module thumbnail image from Paizo.com as your sessions cover image, or the Pathfinder Society logo [Found here in the community use package]. That will help visually distinguish PFS games from the other systems.)

You can see a full list of games for Roll20Con 2016 here, and player sign-ups need to be handled through Roll20 for the convention.

GMs, once you create your session(s) on Roll20, please submit your game for convention support here:

Session Support Submission Form

(Even if you already have the scenario you are running, please submit your game so we can make sure everyone gets Official PFS convention details and will be eligible for convention boons and prizes.)

Submission Deadline for GM Scenario support is May 18th, 2016 at 12 PM PDT US [UTC-7]. (You can still submit games after that for convention boons and prize support, but you will not get scenario support.)

NOTE: Make sure and link your Roll20 session in the PFS support submission form so PFS sessions can be found easily. [Pseudo-Session Example here.]

** Also, if you plan on streaming your game on Twitch or Google Hangouts on Air, please let us know. We would like to feature and host as many streamers as possible during the convention. **

If you have any questions or concerns, or need help getting a game listed (or anything else), please contact us here.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

PbP Gameday IV: Siege of Serpents Rise - The End

Time flies when you’re having fun - and, as of now, PbP Gameday IV has come to an official end.

It went out with a bang with a hard fought Overwhelming Victory in the Special, Siege of Serpents. So congratulations to all those who took part in the special - it was a lot of fun to watch it all unfold.

We would like to thank all the GMs who worked super hard to make the entire gameday run remarkably well and markedly smoothly - you all did a terrific job, and we are very appreciative of all your amazing work. So huge round of applause for you all. (And an extra special thanks to those of you who covered extra tables when GMs had to drop - that was above and beyond and we thank you for that.)

We tried some new things this time, like the two slot schedule with the Serpents Rise Exclusive and Siege of Serpents Special, along with the usual “open gaming”. I think that went extremely well, but would love to hear back from you all to see what your thoughts are on that format.

And the open gaming had an amazing turnout this time - we’ve had a total of 227 tables for the gameday, with a few more waiting to be reported - so that is a great turnout. (Plus an overseas Viagra salesman who REALLY wanted to run The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch for some reason - 18 times, in fact.) Some truly hilarious stories came out of the open tables, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing those tales.

But enough of me babbling on about how terrific you all are - let’s get to prizes. :)

The $5 USD Paizo Gift Card Winners are:

1 Sior
2 CursedFrogurt
3 Nefreet
4 MikeTuholski
5 ErwinOthello
6 DeirDGuerra
7 Rathor
8 SidneyMoncrief
9 Caoilte
10 Grahl
11 AodTheWitchchild
12 UressKrest
13 Zinou
14 Yitza
15 EldonGarcA
16 Xull
17 Grigorii

The last $10 USD Paizo Gift Card Winner is:

GM Lari

And the Grand Prize Winners of the $50 USD Amazon Gift Cards are:

Chris Marsh
-and-
Hmm

Congratulations to all of you. (We will be contacting winners via Paizo IM if we do not have your email address and by email if we already have your address.)

The last of the boons are going out tonight/tomorrow and we are 90% done reporting games to Paizo and will finish those up today. (We will then loop back around for some of the reporting corrections that have been sent to us.)

Lastly, your feedback would be greatly appreciated. It will help us grow and make things even better next time. You can leave a response here on this post. You can email us HERE. Or you can can fill out the anonymous, three question survey HERE.

Thank all of you again. It’s been a lot of fun.

Have a terrific Holiday Season and I look forward to seeing you all back in the new year.

Best Wishes,

Hope everyone had a good weekend and all the games are going well.

We have officially wrapped up week 4 of the PbP Gameday.

In the last couple of weeks…

Our Half-Orc crooner from the Ironbound Schism has proposed to the bun wielding baker of his dreams as the adventure comes to a close.

This group does a little light reading in the Overflow Archives.

And I have been informed - someone, somehow allowed our own Pirate Rob shore leave without supervision - and now a fine Lass, I am sure, has birthed him a Lil Buccaneer Sprog to bring back aboard ship. So, Congrats to him, and the lass, on the lil addition to their pirate crew.

Also, few winners to announce...

Our four $5 Paizo Gift Card winners are:

Session 57's Adurra Nivek
Session 175's Roos Randermin
Session 152's Noozoo
Session 156's MTFalcon

Our Two $10 Paizo Gift Card winners are:

Session 204's GM Bold Strider
Session 157's Luke_Parry

Congrats to all of you - I will get in touch shortly to get the PDF gift certs to you.

If anyone has any issues or concerns, please contact me HERE and we will get you worked out.

Also a Note: We are getting close to the Start of “Slot B” on November 5th, 2015. GM info for the special will be sent out soon. If you are interested in playing, there are still a few seats open and those can be found HERE.

Game on!

There had been some interest expressed in High level Module/AP play, so Waymo has kindly offered to run the following:

Scenario: PFS AP 83: The Slave Trenches of Hakotep (levels 12-14)

Date/Time: Sunday, November 15th, 2015 @ 9:00 AM EST US [UTC-5]

GM: Waymo

Game Client: Google Plus Hangout and the Roll20.net VTT

Description:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 12-14.

Chapter 5: "The Slave Trenches of Hakotep"

By Michael Kortes

Entrenched in Peril

The Sky Pharaoh Hakotep I has risen and launched an attack against the city of Wati! The heroes return to Wati to defend it against this menace, only to discover that the attack is just the preface to a larger invasion of Osirion, controlled from Hakotep’s own flying tomb. Journeying to the Slave Trenches of Hakotep, the heroes must learn how to activate an ancient weapon to pull Hakotep’s tomb back to earth. Will the heroes bring down the flying pyramid of the Sky Pharaoh, or will their bones join the thousands of skeletons that lie crumbling within the Slave Trenches of Hakotep?

Howdy, and Well Met, Pathfinders!

We are wrapping up week two of the PbP Gameday and everything seems to be going swingingly.

Some random highlights of the action, so far:

It’s always fun seeing goblins being goblins - as in this We Be Goblins session. (That’s one way to not have to share the loot.)

In this session of Scions of the Sky Key it shows why it is always good for a Pathfinder to be prepared for any situation.

And lastly, this Half-Orc Bard trying to woo, I am sure nothing more than bake goods from, a friendly baker with his rendition of “I want to Butter Your Buns”, to the tune of “Girls just want to have fun” in The Ironbound Schism.

And that is only a small random sampling - there are a lot of really funny, tragic, and interesting game threads going on right now.

Also, our first game has also been reported. GM Kludde and his group really crushed Where Mammoths Dare not Tread and finished it in only 9 days. So well done there.

Finally, we have some winners to announce for the first two weeks of the gameday.

Our four $5 Paizo Gift Card winners are:

Session 178’s Wolfspirit
Session 67’s Chadius
Session 70’s PaladinOfBahaWho
Session 97’s Chaosorbit

Our Two $10 Paizo Gift Card winners are:

Session 195’s DMBeckett
Session 108’s Shifty

Congrats! I'll be contacting you shortly to get your information so I can get those to you.

Thanks a bunch everyone for making things go so smoothly - you guys really rock.

Now if you will all excuse me, I am going to go fall back into a flu induced coma. (Yet another bonus point for Online Play - no spreading of the Con Crud.) ;b

You guys have fun and keep on rockin’

Howdy!

AetherCon IV is now accepting Open Gaming Submissions for Pathfinder Society.

There are currently a number of sessions listed on AetherCon's Warhorn site, some of which will still need GMs.

And if you would like to run a game, that would be awesome. :)

To run a game at AetherCon IV...

First Sign up on AetherCon's Warhorn site here:

AetherCon IV Warhorn

Then check the schedule to see if a session already exists that you would be willing to run:

Session List

(If you see "ironhelixx" as the GM - that session needs a GM - I just used myself as a placeholder.)

If you see a game in the list you would like to run, sign up on Warhorn as a GM for that session and then email me at Jesse@PathfinderSocietyOnline.com with the scenario and day/time, and I will update the master session list to show you as the GM instead of me on the web session list.

If you would like to run a game not listed in the session list, please submit the session via the following form and I will get it added to AetherCon's Warhorn site:

Submit Game

(Scenarios and Time Slots will be subject to approval so that we do not have any conflicts.)

There will, of course, be the usual boons and prizes for those who run games.

(There are actually two GM boons available this time.)

If you have any question please feel free to ask them here or email me at the address above.

** More information and a FAQ coming soon. Player Registration start October 1st, 2015 **

Hope to see you there - I know we can make this year even better than last year.

Thanks again and stay awesome,

Welcome to the official start of Play-by-Post Gameday IV

We officially have 180+ tables now, so congratulations to all of the 80+ amazing GMs who have offered their time to make the tables available. (And there are still new tables being created every day.)

Thank you to all the players who have come out as well. Looking at the event list, most of the tables are already FULL, and many others are near max capacity. That is a pretty awesome turnout.

There are plenty of tables with an open seat or two though, so anyone still looking to get involved in PbP Gameday IV, please check out the session list and see if there is anything that fits your fancy - still plenty of time to get in and enjoy the fun. (Session List)

[If you need help finding a game you can also email me directly here: Find Game.]

I would also like to publicly thanks John Compton for helping make the event possible with all of his help making sure you guys get scenario support, prizes, and boons for the event. He worked very hard to make sure the scenario support got to you guys - so thank you very much for that, John.

There are many terrific play opportunities during the PbP Gameday, so I hope everyone has a chance to try out PbP and see what it has to offer. And I hope everyone has a terrific time. (If you are new to PbP, drop us an email and let us know what you think: Feedback.)

If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at any time here: Assistance.

Also, as mentioned in the original announcement - The “Create a Joe” contest is also starting today, so start getting your submissions ready, if you have not already. [See the post on the Gameday Site for details]

(We will have a separate post with details on how to submit your Joes coming soon.)

Alrighty then - Let the games begin!

More to come soon,

- Jesse [IronHelixx]
PFS VC, Online Play

PS - Please keep an Eye on this thread today as there will be lots of updates on how Prizes and Boons will be won, as well as other further details. The FAQ on http://PbPGameday.com will also be updated as questions and clarifications are made. So keep an eye on the FAQ as well.

Date/Time: Friday, June 26th, 2015 @ 2:00 PM EDT US [GMT-4]

GM: Steven Stewart

Game Client: Google Plus Hangout and the Roll20.net VTT

Description:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for level 1-2.

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

Three and a half(ish) years ago I almost made a really, really big mistake.

I almost played in a DnD 4e Encounters session at a local store.

But Kelly Youngblood, the VC here in Houston, grabbed me from their clutches and introduced me to PFS instead.

Best turn of events ever. :)

So it was a great honor that I had the opportunity to sit in on Kelly's 150th session for his 5-Star evaluation game this past weekend.

Kelly has always been a solid role-model here in Houston, runs a tight game, and has a great knowledge of the rules of Pathfinder and PFS. When you sit at one of his tables you know you are in good hands.

So it is with great pleasure that I am able to announce that Kelly has now completed all the requirements to gain his 5th GM star.

Congratulations, Kelly - Very well done.

Liberty's Edge

Regional Venture Coordinator - Online

Hey, Guys:

For those of you that play PbP - would you be so kind as to fill out the following survey:

2014 PbP Survey

Doing so will help us provide you with the best PbP experience that we can, as well as help us make PbP events the best they can be as we go forward.

Submissions are anonymous so please be as open and honest as possible in your responses.

We will take responses over the next few weeks, but the earlier you reply the better. And the more people we can get to respond the better picture we can get of the PbP community.

Look forward to your input. :)

Thanks a bunch!

Scenario: PFS: Emerald Spire - The Tower Ruins (levels 1-2)

Date/Time: Friday, September 12th, 2014 @ 7:30 PM CDT US [-5 GMT]

GM: Brandon C.

Game Client: Google Plus Hangout and the Roll20.net VTT

Description:

A Pathfinder Society Sanctioned Module designed for levels 1-2.
As travelers emerge from the Echo Wood underbrush, they find themselves staring up at a ruined keep guarding a broken central tower, all made of smooth, green glass. It’s obvious that a grand battle took place here many years ago, and the clearing around the ruin lies barren, with sickly weeds struggling to rise from the magic-blasted earth. Melted chunks of twisted glass pepper the ground, lending a green hue to the clearing’s light. Despite the damage, however, the glass of the keep itself seems to have avoided the ravages of time, with those pieces that survived the initial cataclysm unmarred by pitting or cracking, clean of moss and other clinging debris.
At the top of a steep dirt path winding up through the rubble, a doorway opens onto darkness, its entrance seeming to steal light into its inky depths.
