I wanted to wait till Bestiary 6 is out before wishing for 7, but since many people already wish and I know that most creatures from the first two wishing pages make most chance to appear in the books I have to post them already.

I wanted to make a top 10 most wanted creatures of myself, but I couldn’t choose between many so it became a top 20. They are put on ABC, not on which I want most.

1: Agrippa (Construct) – Or any other monster based on a animated monstrous Grimoire that can summon monsters it swallowed/absorbed into its monstrous unnatural pages.

2: Asag (Div or Demon) – Or another demon/stone demon that spawns smaller versions of itself out of its rocky back, much like the Pod Demon from D&D.

3: Batibat (Fey) – Or another evil Dryad, but Batibat is perfect, they could be dryads that lost their trees and this tragedy turned them into ugly, fat and evil killers.

4: Bauk (Fey) – Or another bogeyman-type creature that can teleport though shadows.

5: Binaye-Ahani (Demon or Aberration) – Or any other twin-based monsters that don’t look like normal humans.

6: Bonguru (Magical Beast) – Or another creature which body functions as a living hive for other smaller creatures to inhabit. Bonguru itself is from Solomon Island mythology, they are large boar-like creatures which bodies are infested with hornets which dig through their flesh and which use their fleshy body as living hive, on its back grow all types of parasitic fungus that also use the body for food and soil, making the Bonguru a very hostile and aggressive creature as it is in constant pain.

7: Eintykara (Vermin) – Or another creature that is a swarm of flying insects that can take the form of humanoid, demon or other monsters (but still as swarm) this swarm become more intelligent the more insects join in.

8: Empusa (Demon) – Most famous greek monster still missing, hopefully it turns into some cool half mantis half woman thing. They hate men and attack them first, they only attack women if they attack the Empusa first.

9: Fear Liath (Monstrous Humanoid) – A cool psychic mountain-living sasquatch that can summon psychic fog around it and assault the minds of its victims with images and fear.

10: Ichneumon (Magical Beast) – Small creatures with high CR ratings, pure dragon killers, ALL dragons should fear them.

11: Jubokko (Plant) – My favorite mythological creature still missing, a vampiric tree that grows on the edge of battlefields and which drains blood from its victims, its leaves are bloody red.

12: Mahaha (Demon or Daemon) – Ice Daemons or Demons with mad laughter and long nails with which they tickle their prey to death, they are insane and evil.

13: Mambabarang (Monstrous Humanoid / Hag) – An evil insect-eyed hag with insect features. They are the Queens of all insects and they control most insects/vermin with ease. Riding around on giant beetles and summoning swarms of stinging wasps or flesh eating scarabs.

14: Marabbecca (Aberration) – Horrifying monsters living in Water Wells.

15: Raktavija (Demon or Rakshasa) – Or any other creature that uses its own blood as weapon, they can harden their blood into a red obsidian like material and they drain blood from other creatures to regain their lost blood. They can even summon duplicates of themselves with their own blood.

16: Shellycoat (Fey) – Coastal/River bogeymen which steal voices of their victims and lock them in their many shells, they use shells for everything, weapons, clothes, jewels, shields and even houses.

17: Sianach (Magical Beast) – Giant evil stag monsters which antlers are covered with magical runes and skulls, they are the steeds for many hags. If they kill a creature the spirit of the creature is absorbed and they are seen flying as will-o-wisp like creatures through the enormous antlers of the Sianach.

18: Stray Sod (Plant) – Strange plant creatures with magical grass on their backs. They burry their body into the soil and leave their magical grass exposed and hope creatures step on it, this will have various effects, like losing your mind, becoming a beacon for demons or undead, losing your way of direction or becoming very hungry.

19: Yara-Ma-Yha-Who (Aberration or Fey) – Nothing to add, just search it up on google if you still haven’t seen it. Cool Australian mythological bogeyman.

20: Ziphius (Magical Beast) – Or another fish/whale based creature with a very large and sharp dorsal fin it uses to slash through creatures and boats.

They aren't my questions, I care less for dragons. I just gave a tip to Dragon78 and the others that crave for more dragon fluff.

Maybe they could even start a blog after bestiary 6 is out, with every week another fluff story on the paizo blog about a dragon. If so many people want more fluff for dragons. (And some other creatures) Just a thought though.

What Are the new monsters in this?

I hope they start soon with this show Liz had for us last time. The black pictures that go against each other in a race to the finish and the winner gets its stats reveiled. I hope this time more creatures participate in it so it takes longer.

I'm sure someone out there can replace Liz in this? Or do they have to wait till the Preorders? I hope not, it doesn't make any sense, this game/show should be long before that.

That is why I never like the pathfinder dragons, they are just the same with some different abilities and colores.

I really liked the bestiary 2 dragons though, really awesome!

Honestly, I really hope the new dragons look radically different from each outer. It made sense with the imperial dragons, but the Occult and Outer dragons just being reskins is frustrating when there is so much potential there.

I agree, they were so much alike...

Pure love, that is what we need in bestiary 6

People always take the easy way out. Redeem a Vrock, Destrachan or Hezrou and were talking. And it it needs to be a pretty girl at least use the Marilith

And what about the Nightterror? A spoiled nightshade that can summon mythlology monsters into battle

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nightblooms would be stronger than the prowler, skitter and nightwing, but weaker than the others. They would be black/purple flowers not fungus. Those are nightspoors.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I want nightblooms, plant versions of the nightshade

Maybe you should just ask for more revisited books and just don't buy new Bestiaries and leave those for the many people that do want them.

And if you are a lovecraft/flumph fan and you go and call mythology monsters random crap, then I find that strange.

Clicky clicky for a link to a wiki-site with most if not all mythological Unicorns of the world.

Many awesome new names in there so check it out!

Why wishing so hard for something so uninspired? They won't ever do weresquirrels, if they don't do Drop Bears, they surely don't do wereponies, werebunnies and weresquirrels.

People are obsessed by lycanthropes it seems.

The only thing I prefer is colored beautiful artwork that goes with the monsters. Only text and black/white artwork isn't something i'm enjoying. Though big texts of fluff is cool too.

These are the D&D monsters that are still open content to use:

From the TOME OF HORRORS:
Afanc / Algoid / Apparition / Archer Bush / Babbler / Banderlog / Baric / Greater Basilisk / Doombat / Boring Beetle / Deathwatch Beetle / Belabra / Boalisk / Bog Mummy / Bonesnapper / Buckawn / Caterwaul / Cave Cricket / Cave Moray / Giant Clam / Clubnek / Coffer Corpse / Cooshee / Crabman / Monstrous Crayfish / Dakon / Nupperibo / Devil Dog / Diger / Mist Dragon / Dragonell / Drelb / Eblis / Time Elemental / Eye Killer / Eye of the Deep / Fire Snake / Flind / Floating Eye / Fogwarden / Foresters Bane / Frostman / Gambado / Ghoul Stirge / Gorbel / Gorgimera / Gorilla Bear / Hoar Fox / Jaculi / Mustard Jelly / Stun Jelly / Jupiter Bloodsucker / Kampfult / Kelp Devil / Kharga / Killmoulis / Land Lamprey / Fire Lizard / Magnesium Spirit / Mantari / Marble Snake / Greater Medusa / Mudman / Nilbog / Ogrillion / Crystal Ooze / Undead Ooze / Phantom Stalker / Protector / Brown Pudding / Dun Pudding / White Pudding / Pyrolisk / Rock Reptile / Storoper / Sandling / Screaming Devilkin / Squealer / Stegocentipede / Stench Cow / Strangle Weed / Tabaxi / Taer / Thorny / Thunder Beast / Transposer / Tri-Flower Frond / Ubue / Vampire Rose / Vilstrak / Volt / Vulchling / Wind Walker / Witherstench / Witherweed / Dragonfish / Oliphant / Quipper

The ones I still like to see: Deatwatch Beetle / Belabra (land-based jellyfish) / Bonesnapper (intelligent, with bone-control like the x-men marrow) / Giant Clam (but more monstrous) / Cooshee (as Cu Sith) / Undead Ooze (other name, but an ooze that drains flesh and resurrects its prey as undead) / Vampire Rose (re-worked) / Witherstench (re-worked)

From the 3rd edition MONSTER MANUAL
Arrowhawk / Digester / Ethereal Filcher / Ethereal Marauder / Phasm / Ravid

I like to see them all return one day, so unfair that the worst monsters from this manual were chosen OVER these ones... (Looking at you Rast, Tojanida and Delver)

From the PSIONIC HANDBOOK
Blue / Cerebrilith / Folugub / Phthisic / Psion-Killer / Puppeteer / Temporal Filcher / Udoroot

I’d like to see Blue, Cerebrilith and Phthisic return. (Why isn't the Cerebrilith used yet? One of the coolest demons out there)

EPIC LEVEL HANDBOOK monsters that still aren’t in pathfinder.
Anaxim / Atropal / Chichimec / Dream Larva / Infernal / Phaethon / Phane / Xixecal / Brachyurus / Force Dragon / Prismatic Dragon / Primal Elementals / Genius Loci / Gibbering Orb / Gloom / Ha-Naga / Protean / Hoary Hunter / Hunefer / Lavawight / Legendary Animal / Leshay / Living Vault / Prismasaur / Ruin Swarm / Shadow of the Void / Shape of Fire / Sirrush / Tayellah / Thorciasid / Elder Titan / Elder Treant / Blackball / Uvuudaum / Vermiurge

I’d like to see: Atropal / Phane / Genius Loci (as Landvaettir though) / Sirrush (as D&D version, not from the real myth) / Blackball

They better NOT use Afanc, Kampfult and Cooshee, those could much better end up like their mythology counterparts in a NEW jacket, Cu Sith for Cooshee, Ya-Te-Veo for Kampfult and Afanc as beaver/crocodile and not some Charybdis-like fish.

There are also some lords (slaad, devil and demon) but I don’t care for those, if someone else makes that list.

ALSO the Chasme (as Stirge-Demon) and Crimson Death have both become open content I suppose, as Tome of HOrror 4 has used the Crimson Death.

REST IN PEACE: These are all the monsters from D&D that are AWESOME but which can't be used EVER.

Ragewind, Beholder, Steel Predator, Carrion Crawler, Armanite, Ulgurstasta, Dao, Death Knight, Displacer Beast, Splinterwaif, Gravorg, Vermin Lord, Marrashi, Grell, Hook Horror, Dharculus, Jarilith, Mind Flayer, Goristro, Crawling Apocalypse, Skirr, Myconid, Nightmare Beast, Tulgar, Fiendwurm, Skulvyn, Umber Hulk, Caller from the Deeps, Barlgura, Skybleeder, Sun wyrm, Bladeling, Deepspawn, Ragewalker, Feyr, Metalmaster, Plague Spewer, Skindancer, Zorbo, Morkoth, Nerra, Nothic, Su-Monster, Julajimus, Swordwing, Advespa, Quanlos, Astral Stalker, Banderhobb, Boneyard, Darktentacles, Deadly Dancer, Ethereal Slayer, Abyssal Maw, Ghaunadan, Hullathoin, Fang Dragon, Deep Dragon, Grey Jester, Hatori, Kazrith, Angel of Decay or Rot Harbinger, Cranium Rat Swarm, Saguaro Sentinel

Missing Kuo-Toa and Yuan-Ti?

Well I don't care for Kuo-Toa and Yuan-Ti are in pathfinder as serpentfolk and pretty much as Vishkanya (which replace the human-like yuan-ti for me personally)

I still think the idea of more lycanthropes is boring and uninspired

3 people marked this as a favorite.

I want more types of Alraune.

1) The Nightshade Alraune, extremely poisonous, comes from a giant purple/black flower, dark skin, extremely beautiful.

2) Venus-Flytrap Alraune, beautiful girl lures you into the snapping maws of a humongous snapper maw covered with acid.

3) Aquatic Alraune, much like he big sister of the Kawa Okago, OR much like the old D&D Kelpie.

4) Cacti Alraune, some desert variant of Alraune, very spiky.

:-D

If Nidhogg makes it in Pathfinder, I hope it will look like this picture. *Clicky*

I don't know what Fafnir looks like in Pathfinder, but I really hope he is about greed and gold like in the real myth, I hope the curse when you kill him is that you turn into a greedy person and eventually into a new fafnir.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I believe the root-gnawer, the burrowing linnorm called Nidhogg will take care of that.

It would make a perfect plant-based linnorm.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

If they do a styx-like dragon, I would vote for a Styx Linnorm, even though I wouldn't like more environmental linnorms, the river styx is something special and awesome.

OMG marvelous! Thanks for the suggestion! I just got a marvelous idea!

One of my favorite MOnster Manual 2 (3.5 edition d&d) monsters is the Effigy (click for picture here) which was some fire horror elemental creature that invaded mortals and burned them with anger and hate from the inside out, turning them into burning corpses/skeletons.

Ziburinis could be just that in Pathfinder, an possession elemental of anger and flames that takes over its victims and feed on all the joy and warmth, leaving behind nothing more than a skeleton surrounded in hellish flames before infesting another victim.

There are only two things known from the real myth of the Ziburinis.

1) THey are shapeshifters (well taking over bodies can be viewed as shapeshifting)
2) Seeing them is a bad omen (well, if you see them in their burning skeleton form they are seeking for new bodies to infest, and so yes, seeing them is a bad omen for you.

The groups I really want to see new creatures for:

Daemons, Div's, Protean (though not the ones from the AP's) and Kyton's (but spare for the ones in bestiary 3, I didn't like any we got)

My favorite group are the Div's and there are many mythology monsters that still want to join that group, most notable Bushyasta, Asdeev and Arzshenk.

All other groups I wouldn't be crying over if we didn't get any new ones though I would like some new sakhils.

I at first wanted new Leshies, but now I only want a true Leshy from Mythology, that functions as a master leshy or whatever.

Sphinxes are another group I really wouldn't like to see new ones for, as they are just sphinxes with another animal head, they function much like elemental/enviroment giants but with different heads... Hieracosphinx is just a griffon-almost. Gynosphinx and Androsphinx would have been enough for me personally, the criosphinx always makes me feel awkward, so silly.

I personally never can have enough of hags, there are still plenty of them in mythology that have interesting features and powers that sets them apart. Mambabarang the insect hag/witch and Utlunta (Spearfinger) are my favorites.

And I would really appriciate it if Ammut and Raiju end up in this bestiary.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Muirdris from ABookOfCreatures is something I really love to see in Pathfinder.

I love the way ABC drawn it, as some horrid abomination/aberration of the sea, maybe add in some dragon/sea serpent parts too to please the google-crowd.

It's ability would be to deform anything that takes a glance of it, turning their face backwards or doing some other horrid damage to the appearance of onlookers.

Dragon78 wrote:

No, it was in Starfinder it would be a space ship;) Also I was talking about vehicle based undead.

A "living sword" could be a construct, undead, aberration, magical beast or even an ooze. It could be an outsider as well but I would prefer any of the other creature types.

A car and tank undead doesnt make sense in the old times.

Dragon78 wrote:
I just hope there is not another monster art that is just another skinless person or animal. I find those to be really tasteless.

Dragon78 is probably the only person in this world that doesnt like(even hate) the most awesome creature of myth the skinless Nuckelavee. I wish the house, kitchen and garden Nymph would be without skin, then she would at least be a little bit interesting...

I have this new idea for the Philippine Batibat.

After a Dryad loses her (favorite) tree or too much of her forest is destroyed/terrorized she may transform/corrupts into a different form, this hulking, ugly, vile and fat version of her former self is called a Batibat.

A Batibat is the size of a female ogre and has double as much physical power, nature around the creature slowly twists and turns darker, becoming a horrifying visage of its old beauty. Normal animals disappear from the Batibats territory and make place for dark and evil plants, fey and beasts that are attracted to the corruption and destruction the Batibat causes.

Batibat's have powers over plants like their former dryad forms, but always use this power for evil ends. They seek out humanoids in the forest to punish without reason and blame everyone for their terrible fate.

Legends tell of even more powerful Batibat that spawn from corrupted Hamadryad's.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Akalakui (I would like them as poisonous goblins that use their own poison to coat their arrows with, their arrows burn the tongue so victims can't speak and so cast spells)

Alkuntane (this sounds like the larval form of the Abuhuku)

Huecu (isn't there some more info on this? Starfish monsters always lack in information...)

Taua sounds like a cool upgrade for the Alp-luachra

Wokolo could be some cool small dwarf-sized evil sasquatch breed, I love their name.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I just hope for less group monsters and more single monsters that arent unique and which are in range of cr 1 till 20. I especially love cr 10 till 17 monsters for some reason.

Thanks guys that is awesome info on the horsemen. Gonna use some of that for my own project, though I keep famine, pestilence, death (leader) and war, i'll add the Mysterious fifth horseman named conquest as endboss, being their mysterious leader that pulls the strings.

It's safe to assume that is not the final cover, correct?

100%, that would be a very underwhelming cover for a bestiary, we already have trolls

I do hope we get picture-guessing monster vs monster competition again from Liz a month before the release, I really enjoyed that.

I really don't care for Strange Aeons and Starfinder.

I hate Hobgoblins, but the AP won't be only about them I suppose so i'm still going to try it out.

Ruins of Azlant is something i'm most excited about, can't wait for that AP to happen!

Quote:
The other two APs I want to run. I love the idea of an Azlant AP. It's one of those places I've always wanted to know more about. Underwater stuff is not my favorite, but I suspect that, like with Numerian tech, it works better if you're built to deal with it.

but please leave the Numerian technology out of this, you have Starfinder by then.

I wasn't familiar with the word either, but presumably it's referring to metaphorical smoothness, i.e. manipulative charisma. There's actually a long history of Abrahamic peacock demons.

I like both an Lidérc and an Aitvaras.

Both are monstrous chickens that can breath fire, and while outdoors they change into something else.

The Aitvaras turns into a big cockatrice-like dragon, the Liderc changes into a stunning man.
