another question then.
If you cast Holy Sword on a quarterstaff or other double weapon, would you say only one side is enhanced or both sides? If only one side, then it would be feasible to keep one side of the quarterstaff enchanted?
SO as the title states, is it possible to empower the Holy Sword Spell? so instead of gaining +2d6, you would get +2d6x1.5?
or would it be (2d6+5)x1.5
or would it be (2d6+5+damage from smite+ damage from specialization+ 1.5 two handed weapon strength bonus)x1.5 ?
Thanks for the reply's and observations.
Let me as you this...
say I created a pit of Lava with major image... would it work on that?
Does your image count as an object? If it does how would it work?
You can temporarily transform an illusory object into a real one. As a full-round action, you can expend one use of mythic power to temporarily transform a single object created by an illusion spell that you cast into a physical, non-magical version of that object. The object lasts for 10 minutes per tier, after which it reverts to being an illusion (or vanishes, if the duration of the original illusion has expired). During that time, the illusion gains all the physical properties of the depicted illusory object. You must touch the illusion to use this ability, and the object can be no larger than 5 cubic feet per tier. For example, if you create an illusory stone door, you transform it into an actual non-magical stone door.

The Fighter archtype tied to Calistra has a level 5 ability that grants a Bleed Effect.
Vengeance (Ex)
At 5th level, a vengeful hunter deals 1d4 points of bleed damage when he damages a creature that has damaged him since the beginning of his last turn. Whenever a creature takes bleed damage from this effect, it also takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks for 1 round. This penalty is a pain effect and does not stack with the effects of the sickened condition. This bleed damage increases to 1d6 at 9th level, 1d8 at 13th level, and 2d6 at 17th level.
This ability replaces weapon training 1.
These are the exact arguments the DM and I had the other night. Trying to resolve before next game.

Melkiador wrote: Quote: If the attack hits, the target and the thrown object each take the blast’s damage. Since the object is enfolded in strands of aether, even if you use this power on a magic weapon or other unusual object, the attack doesn’t use any of the magic weapon’s bonuses or effects; it simply deals your blast damage. Alternatively, you can loosen the strands of aether in order to deal damage to both the object and the target as though you had thrown the object yourself (instead of dealing your normal blast damage). You substitute your Constitution modifier for your Strength modifier if throwing the object would have added your Strength modifier on the damage roll You probably don’t want to use a real weapon with kinetic blasts. Past low level, you’ll just end up breaking it. The regular blast type doesn’t use any of the scimitar stats. It might as well be a stick. The secondary style is more questionable with kinetic blade. It’s likely the intention is that it would be almost exactly like striking with a normal scimitar, except you might use your constitution instead of strength when determining the damage. Thank you, That makes sense.
What happens if you use the spell Hydraulic Torrent vs an Incorporeal creature?
The two possibilities I see are thus:
1. It has a 50% chance of affecting the creature and pushing it away because
Corporeal spells and effects that do not cause damage only have a 50% chance of affecting an incorporeal creature.
2. It will not affect the ghost because
Incorporeal creatures cannot make trip or grapple attacks, nor can they be tripped or grappled. In fact, they cannot take any physical action that would move or manipulate an opponent or its equipment, nor are they subject to such actions.
What are your thoughts?
My question is if I am using the kinetic blade, and I have the telekinetic blast, if I am using a scimitar and add my blast to it, does it still crit on an 18-20 or only on 20?
Thanks
So I came across this alchemist ability called Anointing Uses. It allows the alchemist to increase the Caster Level of a magic item by his/her Intelligence modifier. It seems to me that you could get some really cool effects from doing this for bargain prices.
The one I can think of at the top of my head is the Quarterstaff of Entwined Serpents. If you have at least 22 intelligence, you can bring the CL to Level 9, and get to cast fully leveled magic missiles every round essentially. Not a major deal, but not bad either.
Also all wands, and necklace of Fireballs...
Has anyone else come across a great item to use it with?
Does anyone else have any input?
VoodistMonk wrote: It has a Phantom Thief Rogue vibe to it... which I am guessing is very much the point.
Mechanically it appears to be very core Monk.
And it is fundamentally different from the Vigilante in that you are actually changing your body, rather than wearing a disguise.
Not bad, overall, in my opinion. Not really the area that I have interest in, but for a spy, I could see the appeal.
I don't see anything glaringly wrong with your Morphmage, rather than some random grammar mistakes in the document, but I don't want to be that guy.
Thanks for the observations. I am not familiar with the Phantom Thief Rogue, I will look it up! It does have some similarities to the monk, but I didn't want it to up stage the monk either.
As far as grammar is concerned, I can address those, I am not a grammar expert.

So I created a class because I wanted a character that can be great at impersonating other people, even other races. while being fairly decent in combat. It is similar to the wild shape ability but different. The "mage" part is a misnomer, as he can not really cast spells, but it was the only name I could think of. Please take a look at it and give me some helpful advice. Thanks

For anyone who is interested, this is what I ultimately ended up doing.
I played a Mythic Beast bonded witch, my familiar was a construct and had regeneration. My witch took a level of Oracle to be able to cast silence spell for free. He also had the feats still spell and eschew materials. This way, i could cast spells immediately as soon as I took over a body. I took the Mythic ability that allowed me to share half my damage with my familiar. I would also often take over a body with high DR
I would also cast ablative armor.
What this looks like is this:
Say I currently have DR 15, I get attacked for 80 damage.
First my familiar takes half, it is now 40 damage. Then my 15 DR kicks in, and its down to 25. Then my ablative armor kicks in and I take 20 lethal damage and 5 non lethal damage unless I am possesing an intelligent undead, and I am immune to nonlethal. In any case a low level heal will take out the non lethal easily.

Some times I cast shadow projection instead of magic jar. Usually if strength drain would be beneficial

Say you cast ancestral gift and you create a flaming great sword. Normally with 18 strength you would deal 2d6+6 and 1d6 fire damage, but with an empowered sword, you instead deal 1.5×(2d6+6 and 1d6 fire).
Would this be correct?
along the same note, would UMD'ing a scroll of shadow projection be similar
Darksmokepuncher wrote: I say the Paladin needs to use it, but has to eat the negative levels, then, should he win, must see the evil item destroyed. Shouldn't the Paladin try and redeem the weapon?
Have your intelligence drained to 2, then have someone cast awaken on you.

Any NPC above level 3 is contractually obliged to buy a bunch of magic items in order to maintain CR and appropriate loot-per-encounter values.
For example, any good Lawyer is expected wear a circlet of persuasion, carry an elixir of truth, own a potion of heroism, etc. And if you want to create tougher encounters. Create npc's with tomes. And then have them use the tomes.
Here is how I do it

Extra use out of your Con, you can take Raging Vitality to get even more Con, perfect BAB, lots of HP... If your DM allows Mad Magic to work on SLAs, you're golden. Add in a conductive weapon for extra fun if you choose an energy blast.
In Strange Aeons I was using a Bloodrager (Sovereign Draconic bloodline)/Elemental Annihilator and she was the hardest-hitting member of the party by far.
Just keep in mind, The conductive weapon only allows the blast to affect one your attack per round
The question is this.
How does having full hitpoints, having non lethal damage equal your hitpoints yet still have temporary hitpoints available affect you?
Are you unconscious, and damage is taken from temp? Or are you still conscious?

Good news all, I have decided to start a new poll. I'll call it The Penultimate Essential Never to be Outdone (until the next one) Martial-Caster Disparity Poll/discourse!
I played a character who gm later played as an npc. (Much better than i played her)
She was an ederly human witch (70 years old) who wore a tower shield, breastplate and a kilt. She never cast spells. But she would go around and hex people by pulling up her kilt flaps and give people an evil vadge instead of an evil eye.
And she was super flirtatious with anything male.

Honestly, as long as the DM will allow a reversal of fortune if it turns out that a bonus to a save would have made a difference, it really doesn't matter. It costs the table 10 extra seconds. No big deal.

I would stop using scrolls to buff the party. Let them see the difference. If they want the party to use consumables. Then they should share in the cost.

I would make the item survival skill dependent. Where it gives a plus 2 benefit with a roll of 5 on survival, add aplus 1 for every 10 points above 5.

Probably i choose using internet. Yeah, quitting your country over a game may be irresponsible!

Can kitsune with 9 tails and kobold tail terror get 9 additional tail attacks?
Pretty soon you guys will be crossing your arms saying your invisible or something.
All kidding aside, we uave worn crowns and helms and eye patches, including bringing to the table actual maces and and swords and stuff, but that got old quick.
There are still fun things you can do. I played a character that did over 100 damage a round using spellstrike with acid splash and flameblade.

I would be happy with one spell. Awaken...
I would use it on abused animals and give them the ability to take revenge on their abusers.
That and my back yard would be full of intelligent trees.
I was so hoping.
Oh well.
I thought we should of went for it at the end of the first half.
If you are willing to allow auto spell research, allow him to research flame blade as a whip.
You may also keep in mind that at level 12, there are many fire immune creatures that will give him problems, unless you plan on curtailing encounters so he will not run into that problem?
Hey do you remember the old Mummy movies? Know how the BBEG was brought in to the story early on, yet he still needed to do things to regain his ultimate power?
Do the same thing. The BBEG has rituals that must be completed, and the rituals require unique material components for the ritual to be completed. Such as the tears from a baby born only 1 week hence of a retired monarch. Their cannot be many of those around.
Fun stuff like that.
Since this is your first rpg, and first character, don't worry about is more than a few levels into the future. I say this because you will find that as you learn the game what you want to do with your character may change.
My players just failed a mission because they underestimated the opposition. They were supposed to take/steal/obtain an item from a caravan of 2 wagons being escorted by 20 mounted figures. These mounted fugures were lvl 2 warriors. There were a total of 4 9th level casters with one being a diviner. The party consisted of lvl 11 lich undead lord cleric, young brass dragon, a azlantean 5sorc6dragondisciple,a celestial assimar bard lvl 11. And a rogue lvl 5 magus 6 shadow touched human.
They just left a city that is completely under the effects antimagic field to retrieve an item so they could gain a key to let them use magic in the city. It should have been an easy fight if they prepared. But they didnt nullify the diviner, and didnt use any divination of their own. So in the end, the diviner and one other got away with the item.

All fun and cruelty aside, we all know that the entire paizo staff are not a bunch of english majors. Nor I am sure are they Paladin haters. So to be fair, it was probably intended that they meant for the it to be "willingly violates the Paladin's code"
I am sure we want everyone to enjoy the game.

That doesn't parse for me.
"who willfully commits an evil act or violates..." would be ambiguous; the "willfully" bit might be carried over to the second part, or it might not.
"who willfully commits an evil act, or who violates" is unambiguous; the second "who" means that part of the sentence is an independent clause and the "willfully" does not apply. You said it better than me.
