Smiling at the fact that his discovery was valuable Resnit begins thinking out his actions next month. Well, well these are nice little gems aren't they. I will be heading out this month with war forged rangers to search the two ruins we found this month with the Stonescale tribe. We won't be claiming any hexes so this won't cost more than their usual upkeep this month.

Resnit's Private Exploration log We have found several types of gems in this desert hex due to having 5 extra days remaining this month I have decided to spend a full day pulling samples to bring back to Haven. 1d100 ⇒ 39
1d6 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 1
I made a mistake when adding the extra dice with the bottom numbers the 4th roll was a 6 was six and then I messed up the roll and it changed to 4.

They would have to walk until a road could be stretched out to there location. As for your statement Heir the trees were in massive rows like an ancient abandoned orchard. I suggest that we leave the silver mine for now and focus on the gems since they can more easily be used for spell casting. Fabricatior you need to actually say you are using the shovel to help build the Foundry or we aren't going to get that 8bp back. Are you guys going to do the 3 of the weekly things and one week were you are doing your job.

Whenever I report after I return
Resnit pauses a moment and takes a drink of water. Well my trip through the desert was unfortunately slow and rather boring except for this of course. I am not sure what these are this being a new world, they could a monsters waste. Resnit drops a bag onto the table letting multiple gems fall out of the bag and smiles widely. Or gems probably gems. I also found two ruins one in the plains near here and another in the lake I searched. I would be a bit more annoyed with it being there but then I remembered we have several armies that doesn't need to breathe and can help me search it if this wayfinder will do me the same courtesy. There were some delicious wild growing apples in the forests that I searched as well. That's about it for my trip, Girianar your report. Are the apples just flavor text or do they mean something Klokk?

Private Exploration Log of Resnit Varn
Have been using the Fiorina's gift to explore Lake N 11 but I have taken to calling Bard's Calling. I love this boat so much. Sailing is amazing and the fact that I can change it from a high to low draft means that we barely lost any time going over the tributaries. The Stonescales are surprisingly good sailors and oarsmen depending on the weather. I have spent many of the nights this month with them learning Draconic, a fantastically complex language. They were a bit standoffish in the beginning but carrying my own weight as well as taking the oars my self seems to have helped me get along with them. Usul is captaining the ship as of now and we may have found a some ruins underwater, We plan on sending one of the Stonescales to check if anything is there. He will be tied down with rope so we an quickly pull him up is there are any of the overlarge creatures in the lake. It shouldn't take more than a few hours to verify the presence of the ruin. I would go myself but the scorched stone in the wayfinder decided that I need to breathe today.

Ok, my friends The Marshal and I have been discussing it so here are the Marshal's and my routes. Opens up the table map.
Starting at haven-H6 the Marshals party will be traveling trough H7 and H8 then begin his exploration in hill hexes G8 followed by G9, F9, E9,D10, Ell, F11, G11, H11. Then he will search Mountain Hexes G10, H10, I10, H9, and finaly I8 before heading back to town. My own journey will hopefully go as such. From H6 I will head south to K6 then travel east to K10 then begin searching at L10 followed by L11, M11, N11, N10, N9, M9, M10, and L9 before returning to haven.

Well that seems like an excellent plan Verio. There are a few points of clarification I need though. Will you have Fabricator use the shovel to make the foundry. Also there is the matter of my traveling plans. Resnit steps forward an shows the map of the explored lands. Pointing and making grand gestures with his hands as he talks. It will take three days of travel, barring accidents, to get to the desert. After that how fast we go depends on your decision. I would prefer to thoroughly search out each section of desert which will slow us down significantly. It will give us the ability to find any pockets of resources in the desert like deposits of metal that we can use. But if you want me to focus on finding other races, which I believe we should wait a bit for, I will be able to search 6 times as fast which will at least give us a greater view of the south east. Resnit stands up with his hands behind his back. By your orders and the fact that Usul will be with me I will be returning at the end of the month. I will be able to search out all 9 hexes thoroughly giving myself 4 days of leeway or about 30 if I move quickly giving myself a week of leeway to be on the safe side. Yes that is not the 6 times I said earlier but if I am to range further there is a greater chance of us running into issues and more travel on the return trip. If we make good time I will make a second pass over the hills between the southern copper mine and potato farm. Exploration cost: 1d4 ⇒ 4

I have looked but found no such telling thing on it. Any of you may examine it if you chose but it will not leave my person it is binding its self to me and will be usable by the end of the week. I want to use it during my explorations. Here is what I know for certain about it verbatim from the warforged letter Resnit takes out the note and assumes a lecturing air. When carried for 7 days, 1 full week the following benefits are gained. 1: We have modified it so that you are tireless having no need to sleep. You must spend an hour mediating to regain an daily ability's and 8 hours in a revere(like the old 2e elf sleep) to regain any magic. Exactly like us Forged ones. 2: If you press the right top button it will Purge Invisibility from creatures within a 50' radius around you that moves with you for a limited time (1r/HD of wielder split up per day as you wish) It also enhances your Perception while the purge is in active (+10 Perception) mode. 3: While bearing it you are subject to a constant endure elements effect. 4: If you press the bottom right stud it will point instead of at the creation forge to some other location, we have not explored it yet, it appears to be west of here somewhere. 5: You no longer get as lost in this world(+2 survival to avoid getting lost) as you have before.

In the middle of the first week in haven Resnit calls a meeting of everyone but Klokk. Standing behind his chair letting the light from the window catch his face to bring out his natural glow he stares at the rest of the group. My friends I have news both great and grave to give you. As you know I have been exploring the area around Haven for the last few months with some of the warforged. What I didn't know was that some of the warforged had discovered this while we were travling. He places his hand under his jacket and revels the a wayfinder to the group. This is a wayfinder of the forged and was found on a dead body near the desert. The bones were so old that they crumbeled into less then dust as the warforged touched them. But this is proff that there are others out there in this world. I did not tell you all about this immediately because I have been so busy preparing for my exploration that I haven't had the time until now.

Ok, your the gm after all. You are going to use 3.5 crafting rules correct. Oh and fabricator will need to change up his character a bit. His is modified pathfinder artificer build from here which gets rid of his craft reserve. He will need to change it to the straight 3.5 artificer.

Resnit walks out with a slight grin and a jaunty step heading for the quarters he chose for himself. >>Oh yay, I get to explore the desert. I have walked through deserts there is a lot of sand. So much sand. Oh well maybe I will manage to find one of those magic shards. Should probably take some time and study up on the lizardmen. Things would get real dangerous real fast if they start fainting from the heat. Maybe there coldblooded and this will be easier then I thought. No wait the desert gets cold as a witches tit so coldblooded creatures will be useless at night.<< He takes out some paper, ink and note book. >>Never mind first thing tomorrow check on the lizard folk, next requisition the supplies to carry extra water for the party, Hot weather clothing so they don't collapse on me. Do I take the rangers? Nah I will use this time to get the measure of the of the lizardmen and Usul plus it will give me time to learn Draconic. Need to stage the party so Usul can head back to the party to resume his duties before they build up to high on him. Should give him the boat so he can get back faster.<< He stretches, yawns a bit and turns to his shadow which is trying to wander into an alley way. Come on its time for bed.

So I should keep my eyes open for the shards but not focus on them, If I find a Khyber shard make sure that only the terrestrial warforged come in contact with it or them and change all but the most important of my plans if there is the chance for a Siberys shard. I will have to do a bit of research and see if I can follow one of the lines to my next task. Resnit nods to himself and begins writing and sketching on a sheet of paper occasionally pausing and examining his work then suddenly raises his head. Oh right we never decided on it I would like to leave before the week is out and since I will be taking more people ummm... of the eating persuasion I will need to do a different kind of preparation. Oh Usel I will be taking you and a few of your lizardmen, some of the warforged and of course myself. Still not sure how to make exploration parties number wise.
Aasimar Bard explorer
Resnit shifts forward intrigued but a bit confused by the information given. Even his shadow perks up from its former dozing position. So you are saying that I should head toward recently active volcano's and meteor impacts if I see any and look for these shards. I know a geode is, but what does geodes near the earth line mean. I have never heard of such a thing in my life.
Aasimar Bard explorer
Resnit had been sitting back trying to gauge the rooms mood on the topic he wants to bring up. Verio's words give him an opening and as he starts to draw attention to himself by standing up nodding at Usul and internally thanking him for his offer since it gives him a usable starting point and bastion for pointing it out. If you don't already realize my recent forays into the have been to establish a known area around Haven city. Not particularly dangerous because Klokk had already cleared much of the area already, what issues cropped up in his absence needed little moping up. I have heard a few plans about what my next exploration should focus on. He turns and nods at Feorina and Fabricator then places his hand on his own chest. The idea's I have so far are to search the southern desert for intelligent life, focus on the finding of usable natural resources and lastly my own idea of taking the Feorina's Gift out to map the coastline. My next exploration will be more dangerous than the current one. There are two main reasons for this Resnit looks at the individuals in the room one by one catching there eyes before moving on to the next. First is the simple fact that I will be farther a field and as such less likely to be able to get assistance, food and repairs for he pauses and than continues Anything I bring with me. Secondly if what happens if I do make contact with another sentient race. A possibility made more likely by my or Feorina's plans. Are we in a position to make trade agreements, defend our selves from attacks or an overbearing government that can push us around. I myself don't have much of a diplomatic protocol for dealing with newly meet nations besides being polite, should I head to their capital carrying a diplomatic message from Klokk or Feorina or return immediately to report back. So I leave it up to the group what should I search for between now and the winter months and how I should respond to meeting intelligent life.

Resnit slides back in his chair thinking about his recent experiences and how to best shape his answer to the way Fabricator thinks. Well as both a traveler in my home world it is on par as dangerous. I have yet to encounter bandits of any stripe but that very lack of people mean that the natural dangers of the world such as thunderstorms in an open fields and wild animals are more prevalent. Heck, even a simple bit of equipment failure can have us come back rather than press on since this is the only resupply point we have. Anything else you want to know. I am taking that from the explorer rules. http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateCampaign/kingdomsAndWar/optional KingdomRules. html

Resnit returns Feorina's nod and go back to his mug of juice. Occasionally staring wistfully at the beer and ale in the other mugs. He takes out his folding boat and rubs it thinking about the long trips in ships he had while traveling with his friend. He sits back and then continues to wait.

@Fabricator at lvl 3 you should get additional traits instead of skill focus umd. If you get pragmatic activator Pragmatic Activator While some figure out how to use magical devices with stubborn resolve, your approach is more pragmatic. Benefit: You may use your Intelligence modifier when making Use Magic Device checks instead of your Charisma modifier. that is a plus 3 right there and you would only need to boost your headband of int to gain points in umd, craft and spellcraft. Then chose another trait on top of that.
Aasimar Bard explorer
Resnit is a bit confused about what just tried to attack through the doorway but can't do much about it. He starts to rush up toward the new arrivals and trys to welcome there but hearing the lizardmen talk realizes he has no way of communicating with them. He slows down then walks toward the heir. Well since our leader has turned himself into a metal bird, murmers didn't know you could do that, anyway time for someone capable of talking to both groups to make a speech. Resnit looks around as if to show that there may be no one else capable of the task.
Aasimar Bard explorer
Resnit smiles and jumps in front of the group. He walks backward making sure everyone's eyes are on him before he opens his mouth. The ruler said two dear lady and it is almost time. As for you Bastion besides the rest of our merry kingdom leaders, we will be meeting a number of lizardmen that will swell the ranks of our people. I hope that a few join my expedition party. No offense to the Warforged but if there are people who will eat the food I cook I will have an excuse not to do the dishes. Resnit sighs as he says dishes and his shadow nods in agreement. Edit:I type too slow

You can use it to post some of your stats as well if you put them in the class bar. So my profile says this. This way the gm and you don't have to go digging through your character sheets for info.
Aasimar Bard explorer
Resnit straightens up as he considers Feorina's idea. He places his hand on his chin and tries to look thoughtful. An actin doomed to failure as his shadow turns to him and blows an silent raspberry. I see where that might be the case. As long as we do a good job mapping out the various watering holes we will be able to pick up signs of nomads. Perhaps a bit of studying on desert ecology and the assistance of a warforged or lizard folk will ranger will give us an edge in mapping. He sighs The main issue is the sand bogging down the teams and how long it takes the shifting sands to bury signs of people. he pauses and almost like an afterthought adds And of course I could be doing this wrong if the people who live there don't drink water.
I feel this has to be done before the start of the game. So I am setting this before the tour when I get the magical Item from Feorina I am putting this here because I don't want to mess up the gameplay threads time line and I wasn't sure i should step in. Smiling broadly and letting the sunlight glitter brightly in his metallic silver hair Resnit strides toward Feorina. His head tilted just so that the bright gold of his eyes seems to glow like molten gold. His shadow even holding itself in profile against a near by wall. My lady I thank you yet again for such a gracious gift. The choice of item did not come easily. I approached Joel as you suggested and asked for the item you allowed me. Resnit carefully pauses his words to build a bit of suspense. I requested a folding boat, the perfect tool for exploration. I can cross plains, climb mountains but swimming the ocean is beyond me and dangerous since we have little idea of the beasts that live in this new sea. I don't know when she will be done but I shall christen her after you and call her Feorina's Gift.
