"This one time in Kaer Maga I ran into a *bunch* of poor enslaved goblins that were hungry for freedom and were willing to listen to me. We got them safely relocated to a nice community up in Irrisen, and they even send pieces of paper with smudges on them sometimes saying they're doing alright in thanks."
"I got better!" ...performs a stirring drumbeat and song inspired by the Taldan Queen A metallic whining accompanies the song from a scabbard on Rae's hip. "Are you SURE that's what it's supposed to sound like? It sounds like a bunch of cats being strangled, Rae!"
"A fellow Pathfinder in trouble? Of the Edge? We should make ready to go rescue him! Gamin! How are we for a road trip?" inquires an eager young man . From the hip of the well-dressed and charismatic performer, a metallic voice sighs. "Rae, we're Seekers now. We can't just take whatever little mission the Society gives us, we have to do the big important things. It's a shame, I hope someone steps up to help the guy, those Final Blades are total arsewipes from what I hear!"
A pretty handsome Taldan fellow speaks up. Rough description:
"As a Shelynite, who am I to judge what or how Karisa comports herself with someone they may be in a relationship with? It may be all business, there may be love there, and how could a true follower of the Eternal Rose doubt the strength of that Love to bring forth the dream that a couple shares?" "Tamrin appears to have no Love save that of freedom, which is a good thing, but not having someone is bound to hurt him inside. Well... maybe... maybe he and Zarta could hook up? Love knows no bounds." There's then a metallic grumble from the fellow's left hip, about where a shiny sword rests. "Rae appreciates romance, I'm a bit more practical. If Rae had taken the route of Karisa, I probably wouldn't be free to serve by his side now, whole and empowered. It's pretty obvious to see where my vote would go."
"Why would anyone want more than one intelligent item? I mean, seriously, by the time you take them out, maintain them right, figure out what they're all about, they're practically married to you, body and soul. What sort of greedy ugly person would want three or more jealous lovers fighting over them?" a handsome Taldan bard opines... "You tell 'em, Rae! And another thing, what's with it and all the folks wanting a shield or some ring or something when there is the awesome that is Yours Truly, Gamin the TrueForged!" inquires a slightly metallic tone from Rae's hip.
It almost happened Sunday when I oversaw The Cosmic Captive. Our seventh GM used a replay to bring an appropriate character to the tier for a 4 player table. (Note: They wisely did not fight the epic challenges.) "STILL don't know how we managed to walk away from that largely intact."
I'm not sure about anyone *ELSE* but I dress for success Always go for the 'bling' upgrade if you do the courtier or the noble-person outfit. ALWAYS!

"I am just an entertainer, but my titles stretch decently enough for those that would mark such things... Snowmask Brother Rae Alain Paight, Hero of Magnimar, Hoofbrother of the Cangarit, Icebreaker of the Jadwiga, Liberator of Crystalcrag, personal friend of the Yagevna family of Irrisen, the Blakros Family, slayer of Aralantryx, bearer of Gamin the Twice-Forged, blessed by Malikeen Heartsong and Confirmed Agent of the Pathfinder Society." ...there's a bit of a pause as a voice sounds out from Rae's hip. "Raeeeee.... you wanted ME to do that for you, would you cut that out??!!" ...there's a clearing of the throat.... "Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Gamin the Twice-Forged!"
The bard lets out a thankful sigh when the giants depart without a battle. He prattles a bit at Glaheri and then Eurdan before remembering something. "The most important thing to remember is that freedom does have a cost, and that this could have gone so much worse. Councilor Glaheri, I don't think I need to stress to you that the ifrit in this community are as much your family as any oread are, and to not let the differences divide you, but rather strengthen your community and your family in the years, decades, and centuries to come. There will be uncertainty throughout, because for the first time in a long time, this city is free to choose it's own course, unhindered by the demands of a power-hungry despot. If you would seek guidance on newly acquired freedoms, I can relate tales of the nation-state of Andoran and their struggles to retain sensible freedoms for all while remaining a unified nation. For the moment, though, I need to run and do something REALLY quick. It's very important to the future security of your city. Be back shortly!" Rae casts Expeditious Retreat on himself and goes whipping down to Valsog's shop. "Valsog! Valsog! Stop the damage you started! Tygora has left Crystalcrag and is no longer in charge! Councilors Eurdan and Glaheri will probably need your BEST work in the months and years to come, and given that oread are patient sorts of folks, you'll more than likely get ALL the time you want to do the jobs properly! Wanted to get down here before you undid too much work and could fix some of what you had started! We can talk details about other things we asked about a little bit later, right now I've got to get back! Rae will again cast Expeditious Retreat and run to catch up with Eurdan, Glaheri and all the Pathfinders. "It might be a bit too soon to ask, but would it be possible for the Pathfinder Society to set up a lodge here in Crystalcrag? This region has massive amounts of exploration that need to be done in it, and your city would benefit greatly from such an offer. Having shaken off a tyrant, though, it would be completely understandable if you'd rather take your time and find your own way for a while." Rae will provide plenty of entertainment via singing, oratory, and one 'killer' phat beat with his drum. The party may last for days or weeks...
Truth in text: I had one boon on 'standby' in case I needed to heal one of the Pathfinders quickly, and another one that thankfully wasn't needed. Thank you very much for using that, it changed the entire situation for the good! Good work thus far, but still worried about two big giants out front. Could still be a bit of a battle, even with the additional Pathfinders healed up and the apparent Oread leader with us.
Once the ifrit falls, Rae will take the potion that Lars provided and pour it down Glaheri's throat.
"Let's get everyone healed back up, and keep an eye on the drake that Dailung brought down, just in case it wakes up. Then we should check the room over, see if we can find a key to the locked room, because that's where the equipment of our fellow agents is at. Any objections or suggestions?"
Popol, are you going to be okay, are you near Nice? I would hang onto those until we get to the two big fire guys, then put one in a pit and hit the other with the lightning bolt, I am thinking?
Rae hears the flame trap go off and slumps. He could have saved her, but instead had turned to the drake and... No time to dwell, he runs up and pulls Glaheri off the last plate. As she's not moving, it should be just like with the Pathfinder on the other one.
He makes a heroic effort to extricate the female oread from certain death, hoping that it makes a difference. "Don't kill him! LARS! NEED POTION!"
Seeing the commotion with the drake, Rae does the *unthinkable* and runs *into* the horrifically stank cloud and uses the dais as a guideline for where to end up. He apparently has no ill effects. The resonant tones of the earlier speech continue to echo through the throne room, continuing to inspire everyone allied with the Pathfinders.
When the bard reaches the edge of the cloud, he opens his mouth to shout *something* at the flame drake, but apparently whatever he says is destined for the drake's ears alone. Ear Piercing Scream:
