I'm definitely interested in the idea, and since it was mentioned, a White Vampire sounds fun.

Dotting for interest. I'm currently working on a (three-quarters) Elven Investigator searching for his missing (half) sister.

How much downtime can we expect to see in this campaign? As I'm writing him right now, 'Jude' (not his real name, but I'll save the explanations for later) is deisgned to be good at crafting, and has personal buisiness that demands some of his attention, both things that require some amount of free time.

Dotting for interest.

I'm strongly considering a Swashbuckler with a few Bard abilities (probably Archaeologist bard for a bit of roguishness).

Dotting for interest. Strongly considering a Swashbuckler or Hunter (probably the former).

Dotting for interest!I'm strongly considering a Swashbuckler|Magus (Eldritch Scion) Gestalt.

A guild focused on espionage sounds like fun -playing the wealthy and/or powerful for the betterment of the city (and possibly setting internal threats against each other). They'd probably dabble in a bit of everything, but secrets would be their real trade.

So, according to the license at the start of the PDF, it says that Dawn of Worlds is functionally free to distribute, so I don't think there should be any problems with me posting a link to the PDF.

Basically, it's a collaborative worlbuilding system intended to create interesting, dynamic worlds -very little really exists without one of the players making it. From what I understand so far, it's pretty interesting.

Good to know! With that in mind, I'm considering either an Unchained Rogue, or a Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger, possibly?) to fulfill my constant need for high dex.

In any case, my first roll was equal to a 16-point buy, and my second had a net value of +1. I rerolled, and got a net +2, so I'll be rolling again in here:

Spoiler:

4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 4) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 6) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 6) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 6) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 3) = 17

Dotting for interest, and...

Spoiler:

4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 4) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6, 6) = 19
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 3) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 3) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 5) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 2) = 13

or:
Spoiler:

4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 6) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 5) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 1) = 12

Edit: Second totaled out to a +1
Spoiler:

4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 1) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 5) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 1) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 1) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 5) = 18

I've got some ideas of what I might like to try out, but I have to ask before I commit: Are there any classes that are off the table? Also, do you prefer the standard or Unchained versions of classes when applicable?

I'd still like to participate if this becomes a thing.

This honestly sounds really cool! I've never actually played RotRL, but I know a bit about the setting - Thassalonian Magic (and sometimes Thassilon as a whole) sometimes make it into my character concepts.

I'm seriously considering Swashbuckler/(Celestial)Sorcerer who emulated some of Serenrae's assorted themes -lots of light and fire, basically (even spells that aren't those things would possibly be flavored to fit).

This sounds interesting. Without knowing anything about where the party starts out/what the party will be doing I'm unwilling to make any claims about classes, so I'll just roll my dice for now.

Set 1:
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 2) = 1412
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 1) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 3) = 17 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 1) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 4) = 18 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 2) = 10 9
16 Point-Buy

Set 2:
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 6) = 15 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 2) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 2) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 1) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 6) = 19 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 1) = 9 8
7 Point-Buy

Yeah... those are both pretty awful. I'll be going with a 20 Point-Buy.

Dotting!

Google Docs isn't too much of a challenge. If you have a Google account (it's hard not to these days), then you can set it up easily.

The Dawn of Worlds system seems simple enough, and genuinely interesting! The system mentions inches on the map, which may be difficult in a digital campaign, but otherwise I see no problem with using it. Of course, discussing exactly what everyone involved wants would probably be a good idea -less of a chance for the interests of different players to clash.

Dotting! This is Garlan, my half-elf swashbuckler. I think everything is correct, but if it isn't let me know and I'll change it.

So far, I think his Councillor is probably a Close Friend (not quite as close any more, since they're engaged to somebody else, and he doesn't want to be that guy), and both they and Garlan want to improve the quality of life for the assorted races that receive less political representation(half-elves, half-orcs, halflings, tieflings, tengu, etc.).

Beyond that, Garlan mostly wants to be a person worth looking up to (he has a niece and nephew -twins- from his human side of the family, and wants to be a good example for them).

I'm still missing a complete backstory, but this is what I have so far.

Also, is the Councillor a former Commissioner, or are they completely new? I'd assume the former, but assuming doesn't usually go well.

Dotting!

Currently, I'm thinking Swashbuckler|Oracle, mostly melee, with some interesting ranged spells for fun. Also, probably something about cruel irony (assuming that a dhampir Solar Oracle counts as cruel irony -Alanis Morissette has ruined my ability to tell)

I just thought of a question that might be important for spellcasters that aren't women:

Using my limited Google-Fu, it looks like vikings had a big thing with masculinity and magic-specifically that magic was feminine, and by extension not something honorable men did. Apparently in norse mythology even Odin was taunted for his practice of magic (seiðr specifically).

For this setting, are there any negative associations towards men and spellcasting?

So, this campaign sounds really interesting! I've always had a thing for ancient Scandinavian/Norse culture and settings, but I've never seen all that many campaigns that did it justice.

Currently I'm thinking of a Swashbuckler/Magus(Eldritch Scion) -lots of flashy nonsense, presumably. However, I was considering something, and I'm hoping for some input:

The Magus Arcana Spell-Scars(EX) is basically a lesser-but-not Scribe Scroll. The 'scroll' is the caster's body -and as such they can never be taken away without probably killing the the magus, but there's a limit on the total spell level between all the scars.

Scrolls (and by extension Spell-Scars) are spell completion items, and need either A) someone to cast the spell, or B) a magic item that casts the spell (Scroll, wand, ring -it doesn't really matter exactly what the item is) to make them. By the RAW, a Magus with spell-scar can inscribe any spell he has a scroll or wand of onto his body -assuming he can meet the UMD requirements.

From what I can gather, Vikings were fairly on-board with tattoos. Would spell-scar be thematically inappropriate for the setting -or otherwise not okay?

So, I added some stuff to Marcus' character sheet -it's all crunch, but he's getting there

Blood loss sounds unpleasant... hope you're doing relatively okay.

So, I've been making some progress on a character.

This is Marcus Alfero: Merchant, Spy, and Pretty-Boy Extraordinaire! He's mostly incomplete -I'm working on his statblock and inventory right now. Going though some of the assorted stuff that I feel he'd probably have, I've got some considerations:

Wagons, Carts, and Long-Distance Travel: Over on the PFSRD they have a list of a ton of different land vehicles. Seeing as we're probably going to have to travel pretty far to reach the mining operation (and because carrying a bunch of stuff on foot sucks ), it feels perfectly reasonable for Marcus to have bought a caravan -since the travelling merchant shtick is probably a good cover/secondary source of income. Would a regular Wagon (with the assorted animals to pull it), or some kind of alchemical/mechanical equivalent fit the setting better? Would a wagon attract the wrong sort of attention (bandits, thieves and the like?

Fencing Grace and Single Weapon Limitations Fencing Grace is a rapier-specific feat. Presumably, with the buff to single-weapon feats, it would then affect all weapons in the Light Blades category, correct?

If I think of anything else, I'll ask.

So, after reading through this forum and the assorted google docs (I'm kind of curious as to what that map is for?), I'm really interested in this campaign!

So far, I'm thinking of a Human Swashbuckler|Aristocrat(maybe Expert). Probably from a wealthy-ish upbringing, but running out of money due to poor financial choices. Incredibly friendly -up to the point when someone touches a nerve.

Odds are, once magic becomes available, Aristocrat will be switched out for Magus (Eldritch Scion -basically the sorcerer equivalent). One strong burst of magic should probably be enough to make his life extremely weird. The basic idea being that either A) somebody way back in his family tree had a lot of magical power, or B) the sheer amount of magical energy he encounters is enough to set something off within him.

So, I did some slight trait reflavoring:

'Bullied' is now listed as 'Bully Hunter'. It's mechanically identical, but works off the idea that Ilyan learned to fist-fight to protect others rather than protect himself -think the alley scene in Captain America, but with ten-year-olds. This trait would be Barnes instead of Rogers.

So, I added some fluff -though I feel like the Bullied trait might be just a bit inaccurate flavor-wise (there's probably a difference between being bullied as a child, and standing up for the kids who were being bullied).

This is Ilyan Argyris -my Human Swashbuckler. It might be worth noting that he wouldn't be caught dead wearing clothes like that, but I couldn't find a more accurate face.

Also, Besmara, I have a question on how feats that alter the damage types of weapons (Weapon Versatility, Snake Style, etc.) interact with swashbuckler stuff - Swashbucklers finesse (and several of the Swashbuckler Deeds) have requirements for piercing weapons.

Long story short -if I take Snake style, can I use my (now piercing) unarmed strike with Sb Finesse? Also, can piercing weapons I'm using still use Sb Finesse even when they're doing other damage types due to Weapon Versatility?

Dotting! I'll give the rolls a go. I'm usually more fond of consistency, but to the Abyss with it.

Also, I'm currently considering a Human Swashbuckler focusing on Unarmed Strike Parrying

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

(Now just wait for it to be a Nat1.)

Edit: Oh hey! I was right. :/

If the rules are... bent ever-so-slightly, we could gather up 15-16 people for a single kingdom (not including Vassals or Heirs). I mean -Nethys knows what that'll do to the CR, but it would be fun to watch.

Now we just need two of them and we'll be set!

So, Amir is pretty much finished! There are things I'd like to add more to -there's a lot of backstory I'd like to add, and it would be great if I could add his appearance, but for now this is it.

Looking through some of the applications, there's some really great stuff -odds are I'll be watching this campaign closely even if I don't get picked, just to see what people do with their characters.

This is Amir, a Swashbuckler|Solar Oracle.

He's missing a complete inventory, but otherwise everything is either there directly, or linked within the Alias.

At a glance this sounds really cool!

Without knowing what's allowed beyond Core and the playtest I haven't been able to really decide on a character, but I'm considering a variant Aasimar Celestial Sorcerer|Warlock Vigilante for lots and lots of magic (The Tattoo Chamber looks like it'd be fun -stick a wand of something fun in there and go to town).

Quick background: I'm playing a Monk in a homebrew campaign. currently level 3. Based almost entirely on unarmed strikes.

My questions are:

-Is there any way (feats, weapons, or otherwise) to alter the damage type or material of my Unarmed Strikes?

-Can a monk using both hands still use Unarmed Strikes? (Ex. While also wielding a longspear, or in manacles)

-At what bonus does improving Bracers of Armor become a poor investment choice?

The more i think about it, the more the title doesnt feel adecuate.

Long story short, the GM of the new campaign I'm joining has decided on a fairly simple house rule. All PC's can only take up to 6 levels in any class.

As you can imagine, this makes the creation of a mechanically sound character a bit complicated, but that's not my main focus right now.

The party starts at Character level 6, but has to have 3 levels in 2 different classes. The GM said either combining Magic and Mundane, or Arcane and Divine, but only 3 levels in each.

My questions are:

1-What 2 classes (Within the previously stated guidelines) do the paizo forums believe would work we together?

2-Are there any classes I should try to avoid, and for what reason?

3-With a 20 point buy, What kind of stats should I be going for?

I've decided to make a druid for a soon-to-be-starting campaign. I chose to be a gnome, and I went with a wolf companion for mobility. According to my GM, druids and their animal companions run on separate initiatives. Said GM is starting us off with some basic weapons and armor, and a total of 15 gp in stuff. The campaign starts at level 3. Because of all these things, I have 4 major questions

Should i consider getting a saddle, if so: what kind?

If my wolf moves before me [and seeing as it has a +7 to initiative, and I have a +2, it better], would its movement stop me from casting/doing anything else?

If it[Read: We] move through a threatened area, do we both have to do acrobatics checks/ do we both take attacks of opportunity?

Are there any feats i should consider, outside of the obvious ones[Augment summoning, Natural Spell, etc]?
