thank you for the tips and essay ;-)
I‘d probably dump the XP and follow the „the party should be level x by this point“ markers.
That should also help with the whole „but if we run away we don’t get the XP“ vibe of normal encounters.

while I bought some adventure paths on the 1e sale, which will probably supply me with enough material to last till I get a spruce suit.
are there guidelines on how to convert a 2e adventure to 1e rules? for „I‘m too old for a new ruleset“ people like me.
or is it as simple as looking up the monsters by name or CR in the 1e bestuaries?

I was expecting this to happen in a few years as a sort of Pathfinder 2.5 / Starfinder 2.0 consolidated edition.
ether way: It’s not for me.

SlowFlake wrote: Genuine question - why ORC and not just publish rules under Creative Commons? the OGL was created to separate the rules (the precise wording of the rules) from the other IP.
„Floating Disk“ is OGL
„Tensers Floating Disc“ is IP
„a round, concave, floating force field“ is probably generic enough to not be copyrightable, but rather a mouth full.

thank you Paizo for your announcement to fight for the OGL if required.
after watching a couple of videos on this debate and looking at the monetizing plans of Hasbro I couldn’t help to get a „One China“ policy vibe on the „One D&D“ title… or a bit of Tolkien for that matter:
One D&D (by WOTC)
One OGL (2.0, the other de-authorized)
One Ring to find them all…
including the three made by the elves that the dark lord had never touched.

so does this work?
who gets what for what with those sliders?
Paizo - payment for the pdfs
Humble - payment for the use of the platform
Charity - charity
or am I missing somethig?

please have a note in the singles listing which minis have an oversized base, I‘d like to avoid those.

Now I remember commenting on this in the past:
Enlarging the base for balance is depressingly lazy.

is that armed combat or unarmed combat?

Yes, it is a Large rare. How did I forget to include that info above? Must've been to creeped out by the thing to keep my head in the game.
from a player perspective, I don’t like that sculpt
at all Mind if I ask why? If it is because you are repulsed by it, then I think it is perfect :D it‘s entirely from the perspective of someone whose character is about to be chewed up ;-)
from a DM perspective I‘ll absolutely have to try and convert it to 1e.

as with the spriggans: it would have been nice if the enlarged version of durgar resembled one of the normal sized ones.

Patrick Levasseur wrote: these, thanks to the symbol on the shield, aren't generic enough to be use in any size town. I think it’s not so much the shield that make them not usable in any town but the quality of the uniforms.
They look like there should be a little pot installed at the bottom of the mantle, to catch the gold they practically ooze from every seam and brass button.
as for the symbol..
I guess one of the advantages of getting old is, by the time these are on the table they are so far from my eyes I won’t recognize it anyways.

well, it has been noted that not everyone has been collecting minis since forever
and not all of the past minis are available on the secondary market.
apart from size issues, the distribution was rather odd again with 4 dragon turtles in my case for example.
apart from probbably noone ever needing that many, they are also bloody heavy.

Cori Marie wrote: I'd much rather read blog posts about the new rules and setting changes than about the minis that’s a false dichotomy
the blogs page shows me the last 4 entries, yesterday we had 3 new blogposts, thursday none.
it’s no problem to have two entries on a day without burying a day old entry.
and if those had started early enough to show the set with only 3 or 4 minis per post, the blog would have been short enough not to monopolize on attention too much.
the longer the wait worse it gets, worst case is a single info dump on the last day.

I‘d love to have a module for Bastard Hall.
It’s just across the river of the Thornkeep / Emerald Spire setting, would be so cool to continue that campaign.

What spotlight?
There have been no previews of paint masters for a while, and once the set hits the shop we get one or two posts with mini counts and a rush for dressing pieces or exceptionalky good rares.
Or am I just living under a rock, that I don’t see all the marketing happening after a release?

flexible ability boost?
on top of the other 2?
so instead of +2+2-2 it is now +2+2+2-2

It’s a shame they had to change the website design to something so awkward to use just before this announcement was made. It’s a pain in the bum looking for blog posts and news and trying to keep an overview.

the new design looks as bad to use as WotC‘s site 10 years ago.
Did you hire the same designers?
it sure looks like you are trying to sell stuff, but the old design made it easy to actually find and buy stuff.

Mark Moreland wrote: For both the nymph and dryad, neither required so many paint steps to require a higher rarity, and while we could arbitrarily make them rarer, that would mean one of the figures that cost more to make would either need to get cut or be less detailed by getting bumped down to common rarity. couldn‘t you trade the time saved on these two for time spend on the more expensive ones?

Adam Daigle wrote: The greatest difficulty in having these two products line up in that way is timing, to be honest. All of the authors on Ruins of Azlant had their manuscripts (and maps) turned in long before this Flip-Mat made its way onto the schedule, and since Flip-Mats need to be a certain dimension (regarding number of squares) and I didn't specifically ask one of the authors to present an encounter map that fit those dimensions the two products didn't sync up like that.
I also agree with you that it's cool to have a Flip-Mat be the exact map in an adventure (provided that the Flip-Mat is usable in other situations too), so thanks for voicing your thoughts on this. I'll certainly keep it in mind in my future Adventure Paths. (And maybe try to find a really good way to fit something into one of the Ruins of Azlant adventures in development that makes this map a firmer fit than only thematic.)
You have so many maps and tiles, maybe the authors can employ what is already there more often?

Marco Massoudi wrote: We have now been shown 12 common miniatures and 12 uncommon (medium or small) minis.
The last seven sets all had 13 commons and 11 uncommons (large ones excluded).
While it is certainly possible that this has changed (sets 3-6 had 15 commons and 13 uncommons of small and medium size), it probably is a mistake and one of the minis declared as uncommon may very well be a common.
The Pugwampi Gremlin is listed as uncommon and looks more like commmon, maybe that is the odd one out.
It also is the only mini in this set I might buy some extras. While I like everything else it also is spot on in rarites for my needs.
