Poppets and Perils—Paizo Free RPG Day Offerings!

I'm genuinely so excited for this adventure! I love running the Free RPG Day modules for my home group, and this one's gonna be so fun!

Also, the Starfinder Second Edition creatures are so cool! Props to the SF team! <3

Something about childhood toys coming to life makes me wistfully nostalgic. I wonder why that could be. Also, the big old bunny being a tank is so spot on that it hurts.

I can't wait to see the pregens. One of my favorite PCs right now is a poppet barbarian in my RoW campaign!

I'm excited for both of these products! And Lazurus Games (in Harrisburg, PA) is a participating retailer ... so guess where I'm going Saturday!

One month! The PDFs will still be free but if you want the physical copies, its a purchase.

They put physical on sale one month after free rpg day, yes.

Will the pregens and/or chronicle sheet be downloadable prior to Free RPG Day? The entire We Be Goblins series offered the pregens separately to aid prep work for the event.

Poppets don't need any appreciable remastering, and this has four premade characters, so... probably not?

Also, the Free RPG books only have 16 pages. There would be NO space for the adventure with ancestry rules.

Fun fact: There's an error in the Tin Wizard's gameplay tips: The tip about reach spell should have been cchanged after swapping Shocking Grasp for thunderstrike, the new spell's ranch is 120ft, not touch. ;)

Also something in Hellpup's block that didn't need to be there with remaster was the caveat on divine lance. Don't need to be a particular alignment anymore to use it.

You can use TokenTool! It can open PDFs and extract images from them, and make tokens with a some included basic rings! Or you can google some other rings and import those.

Do you just want the Foundry Bestiary token ring?

Stores participating (with can be found on Free RPG Day's website) will have physical copies of the products to give out. One month after Free RPG Day (July 22nd), Paizo will offer the pdf for free and physical copies for a small change here in their store. This month of exclusivity is because of their contract with Free RPG Day, and its intent to draw players into the physical stores.

ah... darnit. I'll drop into my local store, but one of my players can't make the virtual session on 2 July and was thinking we might want to run the poppet module instead of BLADES IN THE DARK...

As would I. I read them after I printed them and was like, "OMG, it's like someone switched Ace the Bat-Hound and Batman, and then made them cute plushies."

I "made" Cutie in the Pathbuilder app, but there is a problem. The Skill feats has an extra number. Where is that 3rd one coming from?

Martial Disciple (Athletics) gives you Combat Jump, Raging Intimidation gives you Intimidating Glare, and then since this is a level 2 pregen, you get another skill feat.

Ok, thanks! I figured it was from something else. It just not showing up in the app (or I'm not seeing it listed). Either way, makes total sense & looking forward to playing the "floof" tomorrow. I think I'm gonna channel my inner "Uni-kitty" for this one.

EDIT: Odd, they updated the app & it's now there, ha ha Oh well. Good to have the character on there.

Just came back from the closest shop with Free RPG Day stuff in Montreal, and the first thing to run out was apparently the Pathfinder adventure. Oh well.. xD
I managed to snatch the Starfinder 2e monsters (they are great!) and a Marvel Multiverse RPG pamphlet. :P

And yeah, that solidifies it for me: Starfinder 2e might be interesting even for PF2 GMs, as long as you're not frightened to mix and match fantasy and Scifi. LAZER WOLVES! GOO!!!
(And SQUOX! Never forget the squoxes! Even has stats for use as an animal companion)

Very happy to report I got both books over here in Newcastle, UK. I also chatted to some folks and told them about pf2e and saw multiple people in line holding player cores and gm cores!!!

Also I would fistfight Gorum for the squox. I would toppled mountains for the squox.

Anyone have a link for the Starfinder Second Contact? I couldn't get to my local store today.

Free RPG Day requires contractually that PDFs be delayed 30 days from the event, so the page might not be live yet.

Had to work today, so I didn't get to my local store until 5:30PM, after everything was gone. Ah well, I got to pick up Battle Zoo's Jewel of the Indigo Isles hardcover because it is a big, beautiful book!

My FLGS had a snufu in regards to ordering FREERPGDAY stuff, so they ran a modified version with older stock & such. A friend/GM of mine ran the kobold adventure (never did play that one, so happy to do that) & then anther friend went over to Boise & the surround towns & was able to snag a couple copies of today's adventure. So I was able to play the stuffed bunny & acquire at least the Pathfinder offering.

Fun adventure, but damn my rolls were cursed from the start. I think the only time I rolled high may have been the final blow to the last creature....egads...

Hm. According to Herolab neither Hellpup nor The Tin Wizard have all the spells in their spellbook/familiar listed, , which says they should both have 7 first rank spells, but they don't (one has one, the other two).

I hope that these poppets will make an appearance next year or in some other adventure!

Laughed while going through Second Contact - I converted a Tashtari just a month ago to use in Gatewalkers. Ah well. Love the added details for the pregens, this is significantly more beginner friendly than the previous offerings (which were also delightful).

They're pregen prepared casters. Does it matter what spells they have that aren't prepared?
