Not sure if seated illeosa out of throne should be counted as a separate mini. 'After' Illeosa is a very nice mini indeed. Hope she's not plagued by the issues of her predecessor.
I truly love the throne. The addition,of the draped crimson cloth makes it pop and I think the idea of having a figure seated but removeable is great, now we'll need more seated figures.
However the highlight, the true masterpiece here is the bone devil. Not only is the render awesome (as hopefully will be the final figure but since its large I imagine the detailing will hold) but it's uncommon, uncommon I tell you. Well done.
As for red mantis glutton I think they are mentioned in the set description so we should get some hopefully, I've been championing them for some time now.
Are we also getting dressing pieces in addition to the incentive for thIs one Erik? I would hate to lose the dressing pieces, especially since we just got our first spell effect (which was a huge hit with out group)

The removable seated figure is fantastic! On first read and view I didn't realize it was removable. I still liked it, but recognized it as a 1x useful piece. With it being removable I was stoked! Now, the figure can be used in multiple seated settings as well as the throne being used for many other figures. I have a few other seated minis that would be great to place there as needed. Very, very good decision on the throne Erik!

Great preview, Erik!
-The Bone Devil looks awesome and is much needed. At uncommon variety there should be 3-4 pieces in a case.
-The "Red Queen" medium rare looks good too and was expected.
-While i did expect the "Crimson Throne" as part of the "Court of the Crimson Throne" incentive, the fact that it also includes a "sitting Illeosa" is surprising but great!
Could you maybe show the incentive in all it´s glory next week?
I´m getting a case in any case, but a lot of people on the fence will be swayed by a render picture and this weeks Diamond Previews for december 2016 lists the "Crown of Fangs" set for pre-order.
Thanks again for your time, here are my predictions for the set:
-Red Mantis Assassin w sabre

Not a bad list Marco, although I hope we get a cytillipede in this or the next set. They seem to pop up a bit, plus a large centipede is always cool, especially if it matches the quality of the medium we've already got. A few derro variants would also be very nice, to round out the derro, say a mystic or a leader figure, there's certainly some excellent art out there, in the latest AP or the monster codex for instance.

You´re right of course with the Cytillipede and Derro, Cat-thulhu.
I limited my predictions to creatures that havn´t been made in Pathfinder Battles before and which have good full-body illustrations either in the CotCT hardcover or the Bestiaries. ;-)I´d like a mini of "Vreeg" (on page 64) too, or some of the great humanoid NPCs, but monsters have a wider appeal.
That being said, we now have roughly 50% of the creatures in the first Bestiary produced as PFB miniatures (depending on if you count tiny and small dragons without full stats or not) and i hope to have that number up to 100% by 2020. ;-)
The Bone Devil is already the first of the still missing minis. :-)

The D&D Icons 6 set has a large "Black Pudding" in it.
While it is nice to finally getting one, i wish for a proper HUGE sized Pathfinder one.
Erik, how are the chances of including HUGE minis in the Pathfinder Battles sets coming after "Crown of Fangs"?
I would buy 2 cases if we could get one (irregular) set with reduced minis number (Storm King´s Thunder had 6 different huge uncommon sculpts & 4 huge rare sculpts for a total of 10).
What do you other guys and gals think about that?
## HUGE fantasy creatures from the first Bestiary (that havn´t been done in PFB or D&D Icons or are just giant animals easily available as toys):
01 Aboleth,
02 Abyssal Spider (Bebilith),
03 Behir,
04 Black Pudding
05 Bulette
06 Nalfeshnee (Greed demon)
07 Black Dragon (Ancient - the H&M incentive was more of a large)
08 Blue Dragon (Adult)
09 Green Dragon (Adult)
10 Dragon Turtle
11 Air Elemental
12 Earth Elemental
13 Fire Elemental
14 Water Elemental
15 Giant Flytrap
16 Froghemoth
17 Hydra
18 Remorhaz
19 Retriever (Spider construct)
20 Shoggoth
That are enough creatures for two sets.

The huges elemantals would be nice. I only have the old D&D huge fire.
Heck, I would buy them even if they would come in a non-random pack, one of each. The ones we have from the pathfinder battle are so nice that the huge would just complete the serie.
While dragons are nice, we already have a few of multiple colours. So if I need one but don't have the right colours, it's not as big of a problem. The dragon turtle would be a nice piece however.

NEWSFLASH:
"D&D Icons 6: MM 2" will be out in exactly 4 weeks on the 4th of january 2017!
"Pathfinder Battles: Crown of Fangs" seems to have been pushed back to may 2017!!!
I´ve got this from Wizkids product schedule.
The D&D set changed from 01/2017 to 2017-01-04.
PFB:CoF changed from 04/2017 to 05/2017.

I'm OK with a month delay on this set. Things were getting a little tight with the budget. An extra month will make a huge difference.
I agree that the time between january 4th and either april or may 2017 is to my liking too.
2016:
January: "PFB: The Rusty Dragon Inn"
April: "IotR: Monster Menagerie"
September: "IotR: Storm King´s Thunder"
November: "PFB: Deadly Foes"
2017:
January: "IotR: Monster Menagerie II"
April/May: "PFB: Crown of Fangs"
???: ???
???:???
D&D seems to have made almost every creature from the 5E Monster Manual (but not from Volos Guide to Monsters), whereas there are tons of creatures and NPCs left to make from the Pathfinder Bestiaries, Codices & APs.
Marco Massoudi |
If it matches the art in CotCT then I'll happily take one
Do you mean the art from the original CotCT AP which is now the Bestiary art or the new art from the CoTCT hardcover (page 91)?
While i like both illustrations, i prefer the classic one, which is more general, over the named version.
But ultimately we need one done in PFB to complete the "group" (im not writing the more obvious word as not to spoil some people).

Really REALLY tired of Wizards sets pushing ours back.
Especially painful since I'm running COTCT right now ><

The "Pathfinder Deep Cuts" unpainted miniatures are supposed to come out in january 2017, but have no exact release date yet.
The unpainted D&D minis line has the same timeslot.
As D&D Icons 6 will be out on january 4th, i expect the unpainted stuff to be pushed back a little (probably to the first wednesday of february), but that's just my guess.
As this is the next Pathfinder miniatures product, any information on this would be much appreciated.
Maybe Erik has some info on this?
I also expect Wizkids to later release prepainted versions of these sculpts, as they have already gone to the "trouble" of showing color computer renders of them.

I have now rated 49 of the 50 minis in "Deadly Foes" in detail and will rate the "Hellgate" (which has been gifted to me by a great guy) when i am able to drive home from my gf's place (i'm still too sick).
I will post a thorough review of the entire set then and rank it in comparison with the first 10 sets.
Two things that come to mind:
The faces are finally great - even better than in RD.
The quality of the 13 common minis has never been better.
Thx a lot Erik, Mike and everyone else involved.
Hope to hear from you in 24 hours.

I'd rather not see repeats from the D&D Minis Huge sets (Behir, Bulette, Dragons, Elementals). I understand that people that missed out the first time around have to pay a premium now, but there have been so few Huge sets that any repeat takes a spot that could be filled by a Huge Monster that has never been done and would have to wait years for another chance.
Berk the Black |
12 of the 20 huges listed above have already been made. I'd be fine with Pathfinder versions of the Huges already done, even having most of those D&D versions already myself. In fact, I think the Hydra is at the top of my list for a remake. Especially if it had legs. Elementals macthing the style of the other sizes would also be great, although with as big as the larges are I have a feeling huge versions of these would weigh a ton. Still, they'd be welcome additions.
That being said, there are definitely a few minis on that list that haven't been made that I'd really like to see. I had given up hope of ever getting proper Aboleth and Retriever minis for my collection.
Basically, I'd be interested in ANY huges in the Pathfinder Battles line. Opening up boosters from Storm King's Thunder reminded me just how much fun it is to get new huge minis.

I agree that we need these the most:
01 Aboleth (appears in some APs & i guess in "Ruins of Atzlant" too),
02 Black Pudding (never been made before as a huge)
03 Dragon Turtle (again appears in a few modules & APs & hasn´t been made)
04 Water Elemental (the only one never been made)
05 Giant Flytrap (again appears in a few modules & APs & hasn´t been made)
06 Hydra (with legs)
07 Retriever (mechanical Spider construct)
08 Shoggoth (the one from Arkham Horror doesn´t look right)

I generally agree with this, especially in regards to huge minis like the Behir, Bulette, and even ones not mentioned on the list (ie the Purple Worm). As old as these miniatures are (over a decade in some cases) they still hold up to the test of time quite well. Case in point, when I think about huge minis the very first one that comes to mind is the Behir. It's just such a classic miniature in every way - the pose, the paint scheme, the sheer size of it - everything about it is just about perfect. I have serious doubt that Wizkids could ever replicate something nearly as cool as the original, I don't even think they should bother.
Instead, I'd much rather see them focus their efforts on new huge miniatures that haven't been done before in ppm. Creatures like the Black Pudding and Froghemoth are constantly mentioned as candidates and for good reason - they'd make great huge minis, plain and simple. Some of the others mentioned on Marco's list are fine suggestions as well, but these two seem to get the most love.
The exception to this "rule of no remakes" would have to be Elementals and a Hydra with legs.
Elementals are brought up on these boards time and time again, the demand alone would almost make it seem like these NEED to be produced as huges at some point or another, lest nerd riots break out. Assuming they'd be rare, Wizkids could easily do all four elements in one set - one huge rare per brick and you'd pretty much be guaranteed to get all four in a case (assuming collation's on point).
A Hydra with legs isn't so much a remake as it is a reimagining, especially if you make the head/necks removable (as someone else here pointed out a while back). This seems like a no-brainer given how most of the huges in Storm King's Thunder required some sort of assembly.
Marco Massoudi |
How could i forget the Froghemoth?
Fact is, that we need huge miniatures in PFB somehow because they show up in every second adventure.
2016 brought us the "Clockwork Dragon" & "Star-Spawn of Cthulhu", which is better than nothing i suppose.
The only huge minis in PFB that sold good enough were the 4 that were part of the "Rise of the Runelords" set.
The two "Dragon Evolution" sets are still available as is the "Reign of Winter Monsters Encounter (2-)Pack"
That means huge minis either have to be part of a case incentive (which means a maximum of 2 huge minis a year) or part of blind boosters, which is the best move imo.
