So I have to ask, will there be character and starship miniatures produced for Starfinder?
Also, will there be a separate Starfinder Society Organized Campaign built to support the line?
Well, according to this post above...maybe. They aren't committing either way but at the bottom of the above blog, they are stating that they are examining Organized Play and it's feasibility. In another post, they are non committal about a line of minis but Sutter has stated that he hopes their initial product line would basically be: Core Rules, An AP with some setting stuff embedded, and then a Alien Bestiary/Advanced Race Guide.
EDIT: Actually, sorry, Sutter merely confirmed that there would be another book that might be a Bestiary, the rest is conjecture.

It's a different game engine, and some math is very different, so you can't just port your characters over directly with no revision. That said, we're trying to make it reasonably simple to kitbash and move things between the two games—this isn't just Pathfinder in Space, but it DOES share most of the same DNA.
Can you give us some ideas of what may need to change? Will there be a part of the core rule book that talks about porting/revising Pathfinder characters over to Starfinder? Or are you planning on doing that with web posts or blogs?

It's been awhile since I read Iron Gods, but my impression was that the Dominion doesn't have real FTL, which is part of why they wanted the Divinity. And Androffan society basically collapsed not long after Divinity crashed.
Besides, do we know whether the Androffans had more than one interstellar ship? Maybe the Divinity was an experimental ship, their version of the Phoenix, or the Event Horizon, or the Von Braun...

Arent there a few different species with natural forms of FTL? i vaguely recall a space moth and space whale that could do interstellar travel and get between stars in a matter of months which would imply some kind of non dimensional FTL capability. i assumed the Dominion of the Black used some form of the same.
EDIT: Oma and Star Monarchs are both magical beasts that can reach FTL speeds in Pathfinder, all kinds of ways for civilizations at various levels of development to use them as the basis for interstellar travel. (Space chariots pulled by Oma now have to be a thing!)

There will be some information and advice in the core rulebook about porting things between the two game systems, and I'm sure there'll be a blog post here or there, but ultimately, the focus in Starfinder will be on playing Starfinder, not using it as an expansion for Pathfinder.

So there'll be a Conversion Guide at the back (or front) of the book?

I'm starting to feel for the Starfinder team, so much is being expected out of the core book... Not that it will stop me from playing along in games of blatantly wild speculation about what will be there or not.
Thank you. :) It can be hard knowing that no matter what you do, *someone* is going to be angry or disappointed with your choices, but we're just going to make the best game we can within the constraints we've been given, and hopefully a lot of folks will have fun!

Would the technology guide be mostly compatible? I can picture some items getting a few tweaks to make it more sci-fi like (such as some process or entity granting souls to beings made in clone pods so soulless clones are no longer an issue).
I would love to see Akiton and possiblly Aballon get their own campaign setting books.

I hope that they used the tech guide as just a guide for ideas and that the regular gear in Starfinder is loads more useful than tech in golarion. Energy based small dice attacks with few modifiers are rough against energy resistance let alone all the things with immunities. Cost to effect isn't all that great either but that part at least can be explained as a setting restriction.
I was also kind of bothered that hand held lasers had barely any more power than black powder pistols and both were competitive against gravity rippers and absolute zero emitters. In general the way some of the tech was described seemed way more awesome then the toned down mechanics they used.
Lots of love for a political campaign based in the hoe setting though, it'd really scratch the Babylon 5 itch.

I wish there was more support for a lot races.
There's gonna be loads of support, considering the vast majority of the bestiary creatures are going to be playable sentients. Of course, they might miss on some favorites, but a certain publisher's minion has all but promised to cover that base...

I'm looking forward to this, because if nothing else, we'll be getting a greater variety of avatars to choose from. I wonder if we'll get to have starfighters and if there'll be different classes of starships? Are railguns a thing, or is it more energy weapons, like plasma cannons and turbo lasers?
You're going to get what you desire. There will be a lot of variety in starships and weapons! :)

I've always found that to be the much happier way to live.

Any word on when the first Starfinder Adventure Path will be published? Will it be at the same time as the Core Books, and will it be instead of the usual Adventure Path series, or published at the same time. I can't wait to run the first one.

They've stated it will run alongside Pathfinder APs, not replacing or going one after the other.
I'm assuming it will start the same time or shortly after the Core Rulebook is out.

Hmmm... this 'setting' is kinda cool and works well with a character I have now that is a Witch (white-haired)/Gunslinger (Techslinger) who's from the future but is back in the past because of an... accident. Question though now is what would she be in the future? Even in the space game I originally designed her for she used a pistol and witchcraft...

Correct! The first AP launches at Gen Con. So you can grab your core rulebook and AP and start playing right away. :)

She could be a technomancer with fluff. Or, if the systems are close enough, you could keep her as a witch but mix her with Soldier instead of Gunslinger.

I get the sneaking suspicion that the folks at WizKids who are making minis for Pathfinder would make minis for Starfinder easily enough. Heck, I don't think I would be psychic if I say there were folks at WizKids that heard about the new games and said: "We're minis for you guys for this right?" I already know that there are people on the starfinder who want to announce organized play but the logistics for that is a nightmare that if they are even somewhat working on that it's on the sly. We will seeing more in the future to be sure and I know I will be supporting it as much as possible. I love space opera; it's one of my favorite sub-genres of Science Fiction and the idea that they want to make Starfinder to do for Space Opera what Shadowrun did for Cyberpunk is one I applaud.

Paizo team - you need to put a link to this blog post (and maybe updated what we know so far posts) on the main Starfinder page.
This information is a HUGE deal to anyone interested.

I'm looking forward to this as well.
Bug-eyed aliens (formics) vs. humans!!
And for the GM's Guide, I'd like to see some information on different forms of interstellar travel. From time dilation to magically teleporting a ship from one star system to another. Personally, though, I'm a big fan of jump drives and hyperdrives.

Oh the dilemma for those of us who will likely not make the con! Big question is, will we be better off having a friend ferry back the Starfinder Core and first AP book for us or just hit the local game store when it opens that weekend?

Sutter wrote:Star Wars is a decent comparison, tone-wise, but Starfinder will have more magic and moral ambiguity. If I can run or play in something that captures the wonder, the alien-ness, the epic stories, the chaotic fun of Farscape, that'll be my measure of success.
This! All of this. Being somewhat too young to really "get" Star Wars, Farscape was my window on the space opera genre.
Imagining all Pathfinder space creatures as Muppets already improves my games. :)

Using the 'pricing constructs by CR' bit in the Building and Modifying Constructs section of the PRD it's easy enough to make a Clockwork Oma and go straight to space ignoring your GM's pleas for mercy... or so I've heard.

Well, from that statblock it seems that Starfinder is really similar to Pathfinder. Really, really similar. I have to admit, that it disappoints me how similar they seem to be...
Take a closer look at the numbers in the stat blocks and some of the derivative information, people are going nuts trying to figure out how to calculate HP and what racial modifiers are based on what we've seen and the developers are chiming in to say all of the math has changed on stats anyways.
