The scene is rather disturbing, to say the least.

Eliadyr Demon Lore: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31
Eliadyr Arcana: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
Eliadyr recognizes the demons (art on right) as brimoraks, goat-headed demons with glowing red eyes and flaming hooves. Born from the souls of arsonists, the fiery brimoraks continue the work they pursued in life, as everything they touch quickly burns. Immunity to fire, weakness to cold iron. Special attack is a breath weapon (2 actions): The brimorak spits their boiling blood in a 20-foot line that deals 6d6 fire damage (DC 21 basic Reflex save). The brimoraks can also cast fireball.
Eliadyr recognizes the elementals (art on left) as salamanders, fire elementals whose affinity for cruelty and violence puts them in close alliance with the demons of the Abyss. When its fires flare up, it gains a +2 circumstance bonus to AC, and when an adjacent creature touches it or hits it with a physical attack, that creature takes 2d6 persistent fire damage unless it succeeds at a DC 25 Reflex save.
Eliadyr |
Emerging from the everburning undergrowth, Eliadyr will slip quietly over the bridge before he relaxes his guard.
"We've got six fiery creatures approaching, a mix of brimoraks and salamanders. Fire is their main attack and yes that includes fireballs and lines of fire. So you may want to spread out a bit. Those of us fighting from range might be best off tackling the salamanders as they'll be a problem in melee." and he'll pass on all the information above.
(How many of each did Eliadyr see?)
Rhaegal Dragonkin |
Rhaegal growls as he hears of the demons approaching. He turns to Eliadyr. "I can quicken your movements if you wish."
If Eliadyr wants, Rhaegal will cast Haste on him. Magus seems like a good option for that.
Eliadyr |
"Haste would be very useful, either for a secondary attack or to move. Thank-you Rhaegal"
(Eliadyr also has haste prepared so if anyone else wants haste, just ask)
Herr Doktor Krankenweg |
Herr Doktor makes it clear he had a bad experience with Fireballs as he steps further away from his companions.
Herr Doktor has +11 to Reflex saves thanks to his Mutagen -3 so I will certainly suffer a lot.

There are no surprises in terms of the composition of the enemies, and they confidently march towards the bridge. However, only Isaku and Herr Doktor get to act before they break into a charge.
Herr Doktor, I set your Exploration Activity as Scouting, since you have the lowest Perception modifier. This gave everyone a +1.
None of the Dolok trees can do anything yet, but in the future, I'll adjudicate the trees after the enemies act, this will give everyone the maximum benefit of the trees.

Sorry, I completely missed it on the slides. That's what Herr Doktor usually do anyway.
Herr Doktor waits for the enemies to come.
It looks like you prefer to play enemies as block initiative. Can I delay to play in between them?
GM Watery Soup |
Sure - however, can you indicate which Dolok tree is yours? It goes on your turn, so I hadn't tracked whose was whose intending to use block initiative.
Isaku Beru |
Likewise. I'll wait until they get closer. My tree is the pink one behind me.

GM, since we were ready for this assault, would we be able to use reactions before our first turn? If so, Rhaegal will use ↺ Eat Fire.
Rhaegal roars as the fire washes over him. He is able breathe in much of the flames and his scales shimmer with a reddish hue.
If that works, he gains Fire Resist 5 until the end of his next turn, meaning he only takes 5 total fire damage.

I'll assume that's a Success, but also if that's a Crit and the salamander's level is lower than Cal's (8), then the target is Fleeing for 1 round (Terrified Retreat).

One more thing, If a Frightened enemy is within 30 feet of Cal at the end of its turn, it needs to succeed at a DC 20 Will save, or its Frightened value does not decrease below 1 that turn. Lesser Dread Armor rune
No poison on that attack, the poison would have been on his sword, his main weapon.

Yellow Brimorak (-26 hp, 21 < AC <= 26)
Green Brimorak (-56 hp, 21 < AC <= 26) <50%
Crunch, Champion of Torag |
We can update this "25 < AC <= 28" to "26 < AC <= 28" since 24 missed against frightened-2. =D
When the first Brimorak tries to push past, Crunch slams into the fiend with their blessed hammer.

Knocked prone if that's a crit
Crunch is not overly strategic with their reactions - while Retributive Strike would be more effective, they don't like to take the chance that the enemy will miss. So if an AoO is provoked, it's probably taken. :)
GM Watery Soup |
Correction: 24 does hit frightened 2 AC, so Cyan goes down 22 plus weakness to cold. That knocks Cyan out.
Red Strides, then Strides and gets knocked prone, then stands. So Cal gets 11 back, and I'm moving Red back to the bridge.

Herr Doktor: I don't have Red being poisoned at all. Should he be? Isaku specified a regular round, and I can't find where they would have been poisoned before.
All, I have marked on the tracker that the Blue Salamander is off-guard. But I looked back, and I can't see an attack that would have sent Blue off-guard. Did I erroneously put that down? Or did someone have an ability that I have since forgotten about?
Finally, Rhaegal, in looking back, I found a question you had asked about reactions on the first round. In this case, you would have had a reaction, since you were prepared for combat. But, I knew the tree was going to heal you, so I forgot to answer. Sorry!
